Has anyone ever gotten the military discount for a 1 or 2 bedroom at Bay Lake Tower. We're considering staying here for our next trip, however I have only been able to get the military offer on the studios and we'd need more room than that (not interested in doing 2 studios). Just wondering if it's ever an option or if the military rate is never good for those rooms.

In my (somewhat limited) experience, you're never going to find a discount of any flavor on a 2 bedroom cash reservation at BLT....and I'm guessing the same is probably true for a 1 bedroom.

And that's a real shame because they are damn expensive.

I've seen once or twice on here where someone got the military discount for a 2BR at BLT, but it is incredibly rare.

I've been trying for 3 months without luck, but we have a 2BR Savana view at Kidani with the 40% discount, so I'm more than happy with that.

I tried to get the military discount for months for a stay in May 2013 on a 2 bedroom or even a 1 bedroom plus studio, and couldn't get it. They did have the military discount on studios, just as you are seeing now. One poster on this board said they got it on a 2 bedroom BLT at military rates, but they literally called the day the military discounts were renewed for that year.

I was able to get a AAA discount on a 2 bedroom for May 2013, and it was 20% off of rack rate. I will link to my earlier post if I can track it down. It was substantial savings for us since we were there 7 nights, but still not as good as the military 40%. You will LOVE the BLT 2 bedroom!

Cut and pasted this from one of my other posts to explain what I did. I didn't have an AAA membership but was able to confirm availability and % off prior to getting one:

After calling WDW travel and confirming AAA discount was available for my dates for studio, 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom villas at BLT (), I quickly tried to find the best deal on getting an AAA membership ASAP!

Here is a code I found and used (AAA Texas) that might help someone else:

http://aaa.com/joinspecial

This worked for me for Texas. Got a basic new membership for $52 for a year (I did not auto-renew for next year, but if I did, could have saved another $4.50). Waived $20 new member activation fee, waived $27 fee to add an additional adult. Not sure if it works for other states, but worked for me. Then I turned around and used it to book a 2 bedroom villa at BLT for late April/early May. Got 20% off of rack rate!! So for $52 out of pocket for the AAA membership, I saved almost $1550 over the 7 nights! Awesome!

So in this case, since discounts at BLT are usually so small (5%), AAA saved us a lot more than the current Visa deal, even without discounted tix. They did require my AAA membership number to make the booking, but easy bc I enrolled in AAA online and they instantly email your temp cards with your membership number.
