Can't find a definite answer to this question but I'm sure sock eon here will know ;-)

My family is going to be in Disney in July for a "Family-moon" trip. ( we are taking a family vacation during the last week of my daughters honeymoon). We are staying at the Pop Century, but getting the 4 day military park hopper. When I booked the trip through a Disney travel agent, I was told that if I bought the voucher ahead of time, that I could link it to my reservation and our magic bands when we got them. That way I could book our FP+ reservations. I asked if they needed to be activated ahead of time and was told "no".
Ok, fast forward to today. I'm at Disney now. Today I went to SOG and bought my vouchers. I mentioned linking them to my reservation on MDE and the sales person said that they needed to be activated first. The problem is, since I can't activate them without the family members being here also, if what she said is true, it didn't do me any good to get them in advance. I won't be able to activate all of the tickets until the first day of the family moon and then see what FP+ times are available.
Does anyone know what the truth is? Has anyone been able to link the vouchers to MDE? Do we really have to wait until we get here and then end up with different times than the non military people in the group who will be able to grab FP times weeks in advance?
Thanks!

Bump.
And waiting to see the answer from others who have experienced it.

I'm getting our tickets at the post. Based on what i read at this website, you can link them now (as vouchers).

I bought our vouchers that are activated at gate! They each have an individual number that you enter to your my Disney account so you can make Fp

Did Shades of Green give you the little green tickets that the bases have been giving out? If so, there is a bar code on the back of each one with a number underneath. You should be able to input said barcode into MDE to make FP reservations. If it doesn't work, (several people have reported theirs not working recently), call WDW customer service and have them help you. If you have on site reservations, which you do, you are entitled to use FP+, and they need to fix the issue for you. They do NOT need to be activated before making reservations.

That said, you CAN activate them now. I have never needed every member of my party with me to activate my tickets, I always go by myself to do it. You just need every member of your party's information, as in name, address and birthdate. I should note, I am the military spouse. If you are not the military member or spouse, this will not work for you, as a valid ID is required at the time of activation.

Thank you all so much! I'm going to work on this during our afternoon break between parks ;-)
