I called and got a quote for 10 nights at the Poly for Lagoon view. Am I correct that at the rack rate of 460/night, that'd come down to 276/night. So for 10 nights, it'd be 2760, but they quoted me 3105 for room only rates. Does this include tax? What is the tax rate at Disney? The price with basic dining was 4152.05 but that included trip insurance of 133.90 which I'm guessing can come off and then be 4018.15.

I'm just wondering how they came up with higher rates than what I'm figuring.

Can the military person get 2 rooms for everyone in the party and does it need to all be in their name, or can we keep our separate reservations as we have now? We had made reservations for room-only at AAA rate awhile ago so I need to know if we have to make the ressies all in his name now if we switch to the military offer?

It should include tax. That is right around the rack rates at the Poly. We have 4592.04 for 9 nights Garden View Conceirge & Dining with the military discount.

One thing about the the poly is that if there are more then 2 adults in the room they will charge an additional $25 a night per person. That might be where the extra charges are coming in?????? :confused3

It's only 2 adults per room so I'm not sure if the extra is just the tax or what.

For the 5 day ticket deal for $99 plus $25 for hopper, if we want to add more days, how do they figure the price? I saw the 9-day base ticket was 249.21 including tax.

Basically there is not a deal on that. You can just use the $99 to help pay for the $249.21

Now one thing though is that you get 5 days in the 4 theme parks and then you get another 5 days in the water parks/disney quest. So if you are not needing to be at the 4 main theme parks more then 5 days then you can get your moneys worth just out of the $99!

This is only the case for the free military member's ticket. It comes with PH and WPF&M. But the $99 companion ones you must pay for do not come with either option. You can add them for $25 each. So if you want PH and WPF&M, it will cost an extra $50 per ticket for a total per ticket of $149.

To the OP -- there are only so many rooms available at the discount, so when you call with your dates, you will see what is available then. When I called, for example, I asked what was available for the military discount at the monorail resorts. I was quoted $2121 for a GF garden view. At the Poly, the only thing available was $2600 (it might have been a theme park view, I don't remember the exact details), and at the Contemporary, the only thing was a suite for over seven thousand dollars. Naturally, I took the GF. LOL! But the point is, only so many rooms are available, and they are giving discounts for stuff like suites, etc. I'm sure that the prices I was quoted were good prices for the rooms offered.

Also, if you're going soon, check out the 4/3 deal. You can get that with only a one-day park ticket and the prices are also very good, plus the selection is greater. I priced out the same GF stay and for the 4/3 deal, it was $2186, so pretty close. And for either the 4/3 or the military deal, you can add some dining plans, so check that out if you're interested, too. Hope this helps -- have a great time!

Yes, thanks for making that clear. I tried to post too quick in between getting my girls to bed. :-)

A cheaper alternative to staying at one of Disneys resorts is to use the Armed Forces Vacation Club (afvclub dot com) You can rent condos/Hotels for $329 for 7 nights. Many are only a few minutes from Disney and your rank/paygrade is not a factor in the discount, everyone gets the same rates.
