Mike Brady: Architect

I really think this thread go on forever. I always vowed that one day I would have the jack and jill bathroom that connected two bedrooms. Some dreams never come true.

And how in the world has this thread gone this far without mention of the potato sack races????

I think they both died. Divorce probably would have been too scandalous at the time:lmao:

Mary Tyler Moore was going to be the first divorced woman on TV, but they ended up changing that. I think she ended up as having recently ended and engagement right before the series started.

That fold out bed didn't leave room for spontaneity. :rolleyes1

I remember them saying at the time that too many people still thought of her as Laura Petrie and they thought the public would think she divorced Rob and not like the character then.

I am getting such a kick out of this thread. I always thought the kitchen/family room area of the Brady house was so cool. At that time no one I knew had a family room.

I also was one that loved the Bewitched house.

I remember when I was a kid my friend and I would wach these after school...I really wish these were available on "instant view" on Netflix. It has been many years since I have seen any of these. I do happen to remember seeing the movie where all of Mike's designs looked like their house. :rotfl2:

...and I wanted to live in Jeanie's bottle. :D

When we think, from a modern day perspective, about the psychological implications of that show: what ultimate narcissism and control, to have a gorgeous, sexy genie in a bottle at one's beck & call, that one can tell to "put a cork in it" at any time. :lmao:

Larry Hagmann was great at being the one guy who just happened to be stuck :rolleyes1 with a genie he really didn't want at the beginning. :thumbsup2

I've been watching the reruns on TV Land and my DD wants to know why being an astronaut was such a big thing. I had to explain how back then the whole space program was brand new and the early guys were special...like pioneers.

But boy was his house tiny.

He wrote a tell all book about some flirtatious behavior between the two of them. I think they may have kissed. But I can't remember. After all, he was Johnny Bravo!

And BB fans who haven't seen the movie, go rent it NOW. It's so funny. And the girl who plays Marsha looks identical to her. It's scary.

What was up with Mike and Carol's headboard on the bed. It looked like a shower door with birds on it.

Ohhh, and the Davy Jones fan club. So many memories!

The book is called Growing up Brady

Barry Williams also writes about when he was home and smoking (not cigarettes) and got called in to film a scene. You can totally tell when you watch it! :3dglasses

OMG, I would love to see that scene! I think Greg and Marsha might have hooked up briefly.

There are so many episodes running thru my head right now, it's almost like real family memories! Marcia brushing her hair 100 times. Kitty Karry All being donated to the Salvation Army. "Pork Chops and Apple Sauce". Carol losing her voice right before she was supposed to sing the Christmas song at church. I could go on and on. Yes, I am a Brady Bunch nerd. :)

PS: just remembered another one. When they had collected all the green stamps and I think the boys wanted a tv and the girls wanted a sewing maching, LOL. Can't remember what they ended up with.

No. The boys wanted a boat. They had a contest by building a house of cards. The girls won, but they all ended up getting the tv.

THANK YOU! I knew I had it mixed up somehow. I had forgotten about the house of cards. Did Tiger have something to do with knocking it over?
