Mike Brady: Architect

Weren't the Bradys the first couple shown on TV sleeping in the same bed?

I *think* that was the Flinstones, but i'm not sure.

Well, I just checked Snopes and we are both sorta right. For some reason, I can't copy the paragraph.

Herman and Lily from The Munsters were first, but they don't count because they aren't "human".
The Flintstones were the second, but they don't count because they were cartoons.
So the Brady Bunch was the first human couple shown on tv sharing a bed.

I hope this turns into a clique thread because I really like talking about all this stuff.

Ack! That was a nightmare house. No "locks" to keep all of Samantha's relatives from just "dropping by" all the time. :p Today, in therapy, that would be called relatives who have inappropriate boundaries.

No wonder why Darren was replaced in mid series and no one on the show noticed. :rolleyes1 Samantha's whole family was dysfunctional and went into denial about the Darrens changing. The first Darren (not talking about the real actor,) ended up in rehab somewhere, and they weren't supposed to talk about it. :lmao:

The first Darren had major back problems and I think he got hooked on painkillers pretty badly. Didn't one of the Darrens come out as gay? I can't remember.
When I was a little girl, I wanted to be Tabitha so badly!

Ah, but they just adored Alice.......she was like a member of the family. Sure, she had her meals alone in the kitchen, but they just adored her!

She may have had to eat in the kitchen, but at least she got to go to Hawaii, the Grand Canyon, and that amusement park!

I wonder if Mike was hooking up with Alice a la Arnold Schwarzenegger and his maid!?! I wonder if there's some Brady love child we don't know about out there?

. And you have to remember that there were outhouses in this country well into the 40's and 50's.

Well, my mom is from Canada and her baby sister didn't have indoor plumbing until 1970 at their house in town, and their vacation house didn't have indoor plumbing until 1985. My wife LOVED that the first time I took her there.

Do you remember when they went to a ghost town and got stuck in the jail? Was that part of thr Grand Canyon?

I never liked him.

Who did??? Poor goofy Oliver.

Do you guys remember the worst episode? It starred Ken Berry as a neighbor and he was going to adopt the white kid and the white kid got upset because his black friend was still in the orphanage and so Ken Berry adopted him, too?
Oh, that was such a boring episode. It was originally supposed to be a spin-off but it sucked so badly, it never happened.

That was Part Io fthe two part episode....they were on their way to the Grand Canyon.

I thought it might have had something to do with that trip, but I wasn't sure. It's been forever since I've seen it.

Bringing Oliver into the mix was the jump the shark moment for the BB.

Who would bring that bowl cut headed weirdo on to an otherwise perfectly good show? Poor kid. He never had a chance.

Don't forget the bathroom had no toilet.

As someone with apparently too much time on her hands, I once looked at some sims of tv house plans and found that very few made sense. About the only one that was consistent was the Jefferson's apartment and the Foreman's house on That 70s Show.

Probably taken along to pack, unpack and pick up after them all. Did anyone ever catch Carol Brady doing anything constructive? :confused3

I'll fess up. This thread made me go to Google Images and look up the Brady's floor plan. Is there anything that can't be found online??

It's much more likely Mike was hooking up with Sam the butcher. ;)

I loved the astro-turf lawn that the kids actually mowed!

She did drive the kids around and shop for them while Alice stayed home to take care of the kids, err, I meant house.
