Might I brag for a bit??

I've just gotta brag a bit...here's the short version...

DD's elementary school has a student of the month program for its students in grades 1-4 (schools a K-4)...anyway to be student of the month you must be industrious, respectful, responsible, and cooperative. You must do these things at all times, all day, all month....If 1 teacher nominates child, and the child had an "issue" infront of any other teacher, the child does not get student of the month.

DD7 did not get it last year, her 1st grade...each month she'd come home BUMMED...that someone else did etc... it was the dreaded time of each month!

DD6 only had the option this year, as she's now in 1st grade

Last Thursday we got a letter mailed home, that said that BOTH GIRLS earned it for the month of April...

They had the ceremony today at school, all students attend, and they are given their certificate, lunch bag, water bottle, and bumper sticker...

The girls were so happy! They knew something was up when they say me, DH, my mom and DMIL there, but they didnt know which DD earned it! SUPRISE!

We went out for ice cream after, and then DH put both stickers on the back window of his truck, one behind each of their seats...what a dad, he made DD's night!.....bummed me out cause I wanted to put it on my mud truck, but eh, next year right!

I just had to brag, they've worked SO hard for this in the last year, I'm so glad they got it together, since it would have crushed the one that didn't!

Isn't the DIS a great place to "brag". Sometimes you just can't do that in real life but for some reason, it's okay on the DIS (not just okay, but encouraged).
