Hello! Looking for some thoughts...I am currently booked at Coronado Springs for 1 week in November. There's a possibility that we may be able to switch to The Contemporary, for a garden view room (least expensive.) I know the location cannot be beat, but do you think this switch is worth it? I was reading some recent reviews on Trip Advisor, and I was shocked to see a lot of negativity. Most of this was based on the resort being dated & not very clean? Any thoughts would help! Thanks:)

The Garden View rooms are outside and the building is very dated. However the rooms have been refurbished and are beautiful. If you can swing it, do not miss an opportunity to stay at this resort. We enjoyed our time spent at this resort.

After our 2 stays at CR, we were like "big deal" and were glad that it was a split stay with a continuing reservation at AKL. After the 2 stays there, we're done with CR. It was a nice resort but the monorail service was not what we thought it'd be. When you go to MK in the morning, the monorail runs the opposite way as it goes to TTC first, then stops at Poly and GF before finally stopping at MK. However that's the first stop on the way back from MK, but it can be a big wait if you take the monorail around park closing hours. The food court is far away, however there is a covered walkway to/from the main building.

The offcial Disney World site there is a offer on (well im not sure if it still is) book Old Key West or Saratoga Springs you get tickets, free DDP and some other things for just over £3,100

We really enjoyed CR. Although we have only stayed in the tower, I understand the rooms are the same in the garden wing and would not hesitate to book there either. Being able to walk to and from MK was great, of course. I don't think we ever took the monorail to or from MK. We did, however, take the monorail to TTC to the Epcot monorail. I'm not sure that you would have to walk much farther - if at all - to get to the food court than at CSR. The garden wing is right by the pool. CR has my favorite rooms on property. I think they are really lovely, and I loved the beds. As far as looking dated, I would check out photos of the resort so you know what it looks like and see how it looks to you. We didn't have any mousekeeping issues when we were at CR,

Good luck with your choice! We will definitely stay at CR again in the future.

The rooms are beautiful! They have been redone and are so nice. We have stayed in the Garden Wing and in the Tower and we actually like the Garden Wing. I would switch to CR in a second. Here is a picture of the room from 2 weeks ago and the view (Garden Wing, Garden View)

Wonderful pics! We're considering the CR garden wing also... did you request a ground floor ? (I love the idea of having the patio since you can't have a balcony there....) :thumbsup2 The rooms look so gorgeous!

I think it all depends on what you would like for the extra money. We have made the switch a couple of times when discounts came out and we ended up spending what we had planned to spend on a moderate for a deluxe, rather than saving on our original plan. Our family really likes the Contemporary, mostly due to the location. We have little ones and spend a lot of time at MK. If you were only planning on visiting that park once, the location is actually a little inconvenient, since it is a bit far from the other parks. We also enjoy the restaurants at CR as well as the added space in the rooms. We have only every stayed in the garden wing. It is a bit of a walk to the main building, but nothing compared to what the walk is likely to be at CSR. I also think the monorail isn't really all it is cracked up to be. We prefer to walk over to MK, and having to switch trains to get to Epcot isn't that much more convenient than getting onto a bus (except if it isn't that full we don't have to fold the strollers down:))

I also really enjoy CSR. We have always had great luck with bus service there and love the feature pool. I am sad that our family of 5 can no longer stay at this resort on one room.

Now that CSR rooms have been re-done I feel that they are similar to those in the Contemporary, both with a pretty standard hotel look.

If you are really stretching your budget for Contemporary I would suggest staying at CSR, but if you are comfortable with the extra and will take advantage of the proximity to MK, restaurants and space, go for it!

If its going to be a burden on finances I'd stay put, if you can easily afford the jump to CR, go for it. I haven't stayed at CR, there were other resorts I like better, theming wise. But may try CR at some point, now that I've almost done my bucket list of resorts I really want to stay at.

We've stayed in the wing twice and the tower/MK view once. Frankly, I like the wing better. I just don't feel like staying in the tower is worth the price jump. If it isn't a big financial leap to stay CR over CSR, then go for it.

If you can swing it, I would definitely make the jump from CSR to CR Garden Wing. We have stayed at both and we wouldn't go back to CSR. Maybe try another Moderate if we needed to, but CR has definitely spoiled us with the location. The Garden Wing building is dated and when we went in January, the carpet in the hallway was in need of replacing. However, the actaul rooms were nice & roomy (by Disney standards). If you can comfortably splurge, go for it! :thumbsup2

If you spend a lot of time at the MK, especially in the evenings for fireworks, the ability to WALK home to your resort is PRICELESS! CR is a wonderful resort. Many folks don't like it because it doesn't "feel Disney" (whatever that means) to them. It's just a matter of personal taste.
