Some of us are getting together in Gulf Shores in early June, but if anyone is interested, we might be looking to throw together a Midwest Dis Meet if anyone has any ideas

I'm game!

Middle of April is generally our last freeze down here. I was just reading through some texts/PMs from the Midwest Meet in Springfield. We had been tossing around Hannibal, MO back then. That is a near center point for most in the Midwest group. There are a few campgrounds in the area and plenty to do.

End of April/early May would fit. I don't have anything booked right now except the DIS Meet at GSP and a Mediterranean cruise in October. This is the time of year I start planning out things for next year.

I also heard there is a certain DISer from Kansas that was putting some full hookup sites in his yard.

We stopped in Hannibal on the way to the Marceline DISMeet and did all the Mark Twain tours there (his home, the museum, dad's court room, Becky's home) and it was fun Americana!

Ed- Don't forget the riverboat cruises and the active train tracks that run along the riverfront. Great shots of the freights up close. There are also some really nice 1800s home you can tour.

Given the DDs school schedule we wouldn't be able to do an April or May run, but sooner or later we'll get unchained and be able to do year round things like you fine folks.

I was thinking of some separation from the GSP meet for those of us doing both. If we pushed it to July, things get hot up here. Maybe a nice 4th of July in Hannibal with fireworks over the Mississippi DIS Meet.

Wonder if I can convince the family to deviate from Florida to the Mississippi on our way home..... We will be at FW from 6/20-28. Though I have a feeling someones gymnastics schedule might not allow fo it.

No, I totally understand the dates and the spacing out. Makes sense to me. We'll get there one day on one of the Midwest meets.

 

[Part-Time Paradise]

I'd like to link up, but calendar is wrecked with kid activities this summer. Right now the last 2 weeks of June look possible. I have to report to Scout camp on July 5, so 4th isn't ideal.

Waiting for the contractor to break ground, but they better be done by summer or there's going to be some problems.
