Has anyone ever had luck with the fee being waived for changing a flight to a day later? I could book one way flights on Southwest for less than the change fee...but is it worth a try to get it waived? :confused3

How long until your flight? You could gamble that there will be a schedule change. If there is, you can request Midwest to change you to a flight the next day without paying the change fee.

That's a good idea, but we fly back in about 5 weeks....we'd like to add a day cuz my BIL and SIL are flying in for their spring break on a Monday and we leave Tues am--they planned kinda last minute...it would have been nice for the kids to see each other, but not worth $500 to change flights...

Reasonably - why would Midwest waive the change fee on a nonrefundable ticket? I'm not being argumentative; what evidence would you present to them to convince them to waive the fee? I personally can't think of anything that would work - therefore, no, I don't believe they will.
