We'll be there the Friday before T'giving to the Friday after. We plan to visit WDW 2 full days, US/IOA 2 full days, SW 1 full day, and DC 1 full day.

Never stayed offsite before, and never went all day w/o any midday break for the kids back in the room or pool. They are older now, but so are we  so am trying to decide whether to build in breaks into the daily itinerary.

Will we lose too much time driving back & forth to the Marriott, parking etc?

We've stayed across the street from Cypress Harbour at Harbour Lakes. The commute is very easy. It is right off I-4. We went at rope drop and generally returned at 5 or 6. Never hit any traffic. We don't take mid day breaks. Aren't interested in the nightime entertainment so just go to the parks at rope drop, have lunch and then continue until we're tired. I can't imagine that the midday traffic would be a problem. I'd say it took a half an hour in the morning to travel and park. About 10 minutes longer for MK. It's really an easy commute. About 15-20 minutes from the parking lot to return to the resort.

I think it depends on how much "too much" time is to you.

I'd suggest that you build in a thirty minute one-way commute for the Disney parks, though the actual drive times will be lower than that you'll want to consider time spent leaving the parks, heading to the parking lots, etc. in your time away from the parks time. I'd use that same thirty minutes for Universal/Islands because of the distance between the parks and the parking garages. SeaWorld and Discovery Cove are both very convenient to Cypress Harbour - probably a five minute drive for either though you could avoid the parking charge if you decided to walk (ten to fifteen minutes).

I'd hazard a guess that, if you've used Disney buses for transportation back to your on-site resorts in the past, you'll actually save time by driving back and forth to Cypress Harbour.

Traveling won't be a problem, but that is a very exhausting schedule.

Build in some time swimming and relaxing at the resort.

I would just drop the WDW part and do Universal and Seaworld at a more relaxed pace.

If you insist on some Disney, just go to Downtown Disney or maybe the Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.

 I think I'd be fired from planning if I dropped the WDW part!!! Seriously, I can't imagine a trip to Orlando w/o seeing Mickey. Also, although I loved HP and can't wait to check it out, my heart belongs to Walt  US/IOA are fun ride-wise but they just doesn't have that magic -- or tour plans!

Thank you for your replies! I am feeling better knowing that Marriott's not far, and that breaks are not out of the question schedule-wise- and Yes -- we've always relied on Disney transportation, which has been fine, and also can take 1/2 hour or more. Plus we have TGM. :thumbsup2 I think we will sleep when we are back in Philly.

We will be staying at Cypress Harbour mid-September. We plan on taking midday breaks. We will get to the parks at rope drop, leave around 12/1 and then go back for the kids to take a nap/swim. We'll eat dinner offsite or in the room around 330-4, and then head back to the parks for the rest of the evening. The way we have our schedules set, most parks close around 9.

It can be done but it is a drive back and forth. You will love Cypress Harbor. It is a great resort.
