Mid to upper 90s in the forecast next week—How brutal is this going to be?

Here now and we will not come again in the summer (I said that years ago and here I am again..) We have been spending the afternoons back in the room to get out of the heat for a bit - not something we usually do. It's too hot for me to be in the pool unless I'm going to stay underwater because I will end up with a headache. It's hard to enjoy just walking around and being in Disney like I usually love (I'm not a thrill ride person). DH and I have been taking it slow and using Genie (not G+) and TP to find the lower waits, though the lines are in air-conditioning are a blessing. I have my neck fans and umbrella, which help.
I would not spend a lot of money to come to Disney in the hot months because it's just not pleasant unless you can avoid walking around midday. Arrive for early entry, leave and then come back later.

We live in Pa. and are having abnormally hot days. Our pool water temperature on Saturday was 94! We were finally blessed with an inch of rain but the temp in the pool dropped only a degree. We visited our local zoo, bad decision as animals were not moving, although the place was empty. We have a September trip booked for this year and I keep telling the girls this is what Disney is going to feel like. I'm trying to get our youngest prepared as she can't remember our last September trip. If it gets too bad, we break in the afternoon, although we've discovered everyone else does the same. We hate to leave an empty park, so we try to save indoor attractions for afternoon and buy tons of ice-cream! I wouldn't let the weather worry you as there are so many places to cool off for a few minutes that it is possible to enjoy a trip in the crazy heat.

Looks like Central Florida is in for a scorcher! This summer has shaped up to be brutal, with forecasts predicting more heat advisories than ever before. That's right, we're anticipating over 61 days where it'll feel like greater than 102 degrees Fahrenheit (yikes!), and we have already had many days in this category,

We live in SE PA and I was just listening to our local newscast weather report stating it is hotter here today than in Florida. It certainly feels that way - 93 degrees (feels like 104); 73 dew point. We certainly have hot and humid weather here in an average summer, but this seems way over the top, both in numbers and how long-lasting it has been. Looking forward to thunderstorms to break the heat! :sad1: (not really - I hate them and so does our dog).

We have an upcoming trip in September which dovetails with a family event. However, I’ve been focusing on other timeframes for our upcoming trips. We’re booked in January and early May next year. But early May this year was pretty hot, so that’s a wild card choice. We have had years of summer trips between having a teacher in the family (now retired :-)) and kids in school. I am glad we now have other options. And I don’t seem to handle the summer weather as well as I once did.
