We're heading to WDW on the 21st of Sept. Just wondering if anyone has been then and what crowds are like? We've visited early November and end of April/early May and didn't find either of those times overly crowded. We also have MNSSHP tickets for the 25th (a Saturday). How crowded are those kinds of things usually? TIA.

Sorry don't know the answer, but we are going to be at Magic Kingdom on Sept 24th and would love to read the responses. We are traveling with friends who have been in the middle of Sept and they say it's not crowded at all. The only crowd is from European travelers on thier holiday, oh how I wish we did that here in the US! The longest they said they waited the last time they went was 30 mins at Animal Kingdom for the safari ride. There wasn't really a line it just took that long for the bus to get back for the next tour. Of course we will be there on a Friday so I don't know if that matters or not? Enjoy your trip!

We will be making our 4th trip during that time. We have been in April, May, June/July, August, September, October and December. Our September trips have been the best with low crowds, free dining, and good weather. Rides like Soaring will need a fast pass because the lines are really long, but most rides are not. We are so spoiled that if the ride says more then 20/30 minute wait we get a fast pass and plan around getting back to ride later. Getting in to eat at TS restaurants is difficult with the free dining going on so be sure to have all your ADR's made. We just bought tickets for the MNSCHP yesturday. Our travel agent checked and said that there were tickets available for all days, even halloween night, which is unusual. So we are hoping that maybe it won't be so crowded. Our tickets are for 9/28. You will love going in September.

We always go in Sept and crowds have been low.
Most rides are walk on. It is still pretty hot and humid though but
since it is not bumper to bumper people it's not as bad.

thats so funny! i will arrive on the 21st of sept. and am going to MNSSHP on sept. 25 (and sept. 30th! coz i LOVE MNSSHP!)
i generally go at this time every year and the crowd levels are relatively low and the weather is less humid than august. it really is a terrific time to go and you should have a magical time i am sure! :wizard:

LOL
We arrive on the 21st and go to MNSSHP on Saturday as well! Great minds and all that!
In October, it seemed weekday MNSSHPs were not as crowded as weekends. It will be interesting to see if the same holds true in September. I'm guessing locals wait until October to go, but that's just a guess.

Have a fun trip! Look for me - I'll have my DIS tag on my backpack!

Wow, thanks everyone! If it's even possible I think I'm even more excited now!!! I think it's too funny that so many of us are going on the same days!

We are arriving at POPs on 21st Sept too 8 nights free quick service dining. By all reports (including the lovely telephone booking clerk when free dining was announced) its a good time to go with lower CROWDS. If its a bit hot who cares but long lines.. I cannot stand (10 to 15 minutes is my limit) Fast pass is a great idea. See you there (from Australia have not been there for 21 years)

PS even though we got free quick service dining we have booked Sci fi theatre Sit down and one at Animal kingdom just to try them.

STILL CANNOT BELIEVE THE FREE QUICK SERVICE DINING DEAL HOW GOOD IS THAT !!!!!:cool1::banana:

I'll be there the week of Sept 20th-25th! Soo excited. I'm going to MNSSHP on Sept 23rd. Everyone I know who has gone that time of year tells me it isn't as packed as it is in July, being kids are in school and it is considered the "low" season.

I think mid to late September is nearly the perfect time to go! That would always be our choice, but the girls are getting a little too old to take out of school for two weeks. So it's late August for us!

For our last two late September trips, we've had great weather (around 90*), super low crowds, and easy transportation. You'll be thrilled!!

We have been in September a couple of times. Be prepared for the heat. It will be sweltering with very high humidity.

As for crowds, when we went the first week of September last year, the crowds were very low, some of the lowest I've seen. But when we went in September 2007, in mid to last September the crowds were not as low, more medium-ish. Still much better than holiday or summer crowds, but not low, in my opinion. As for the MNSSHP, the closer it gets to Halloween the parties will sell out and become more crowded. So I would expect your party night to be pretty full, if not sold out.

:banana::banana:great to hear the good things about going in September. It's our 8th trip to disney but we've never gone in Sept. We're going late Sept so hopefully it wont be THAT hot, but then again we chose Sept b/c it is still hot enough to enjoy the waterparks at 10am. Our plan in 10am-3 at the waterparks, 3-4 resort, and 5-close at the parks. I like that both of the waterparks will be open! Normally we go in Oct, and Dec, and miss Typhoon Lagoon.

We always go in September! September rocks. I did a week in June this year and just yearnedddddd for September! LOL

We went in September 2 years ago and it was a great time, we only waited maybe 10 minutes the most for rides, and as for the party, well we went to it on a Tuesday night and everything that night was walk on, we loved the party.

We are going for the first time Sept 18- 26, we will also be going to Mnsshp on the 23rd. Our son turns 7 on the 24th so he is very excited that he gets to go trick or treating before his b-day. (Im pretty sure i am more excited than he is)

We will be there 9/25-10/2... MNSSHP on the 25th as well. I went last year Labor Day weekend.. and it was warm but manageable with lower crowds.

Have a magical time!

For all of you going to the World on Sept. 21st I am so jealous, that is my birthday and I would LOVE to be there for that! Maybe once my kids are grown and out of the house I will be able to be there on my actual birthday!! We are going for my DS 5th birthday in October instead!!:cool1:

Late Sept. is our favorite time of year for WDW. Free dining, less crowded and the oppressive heat has subsided. Be warned that EVERY time we have gone in Sept. there have been occasional HEAVY rainstorms. Two years ago we got "stuck" at WDW because a hurricane was crossing our flight path home. No problem. :cool1: We just stayed and played a little longer. You can pick up cheap disposable ponchos 2 for $1 at dollar tree. MNSSHP is awesome! We love the villians and dressing up (yes we are all adults) was sooo fun. Happy trick-or-treating!

This year is our first December trip. Yeah Free DDP:cheer2:

118 days until Just the Girls Christmas Magic. princess:DM princess:DD 20 princess: DD 19

We are Sept. people too. So jealous and so happy for all of you going. We found mostly low crowds - except for Toy Story Mania - fast passes were gone quickly and we waited about an hour. Everything else about 10 minutes.
:thumbsup2
