Mid-September what's it like?

We do our Disney week in September - and I agree with the consensus .. HOT, HUMID but worth it :) We travel with 2 little ones, so we do plan mid day breaks in the room / pool to let your whole body cool down. Also, light no fuss clothes and hair up are a must for our group:) :) The crowds do noticeably increase as F&W starts and Epcot can become a HUGE obstacle course (trying to maneuver around the lines / crowds).. which in the heat seems harder to deal with, lol. Of all the September trips we have taken, we always bring ponchos - but last year was the first/only time we had to use them. Guess we have been lucky. ;)

We usually go mid September. After last year we have said never again. The crowds were insane last year. Way worse than previous years. There were articles on Touring Plans about how crowded it was. I don't think September is a low crowd time anymore.

This year we are going in August since it fits our schedule better and the difference in heat and crowds is so small.

Just curious what your dates were last year?? We're taking our 1st September trip this year....I keep seeing comments about last year's "mid-September" craziness but keep looking for dates of the craziness. Hoping our trip is early enough in the month....guess time will tell.

Well, as you can see, there are varying opinions on Sept.! The common denominators are heat, humidity and lower crowds. It really comes down to that. What is important to you and what you are willing to endure?

My husband and I took September trips twice, and an early to mid October trip once, so I think probably 24 days total and only got rained on once for about an hour in all. I guess we were just lucky. I hope to be just as lucky for our 9/26-10/7 trip too **fingers crossed**. I even have pics of me wearing a sweatshirt in the daytime at MK one day! And then I went with my friend for a week around October 20th one year and couldn't BELIEVE how hot it was! Hotter by far than any of our September trips. We walked out of our hotel room and our makeup and sunscreen just seemed to melt right off. It was actually pretty miserable. But I always say I can either deal with people or heat, but never both, and the fall is slightly less people I guess. It sounds like the general consensus is...be prepared for mega heat, humidity, and rain, and just consider yourself lucky if turns out otherwise.

We were originally booked for 8/5-8/13 (which I was seriously worried about) but we were able to change our plans and instead we changed our trip to 9/2-9/10 we are keeping our kids out for the first 2 days of school as here in NY school starts on 9/8 but we are hoping it'll be worth it and not crazy crowded since its the first week of September I know it'll insanely hot but im not worried about it I dont mind the heat.

i love September! we went in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013...then took 2 years off (went in may 2014 and December 2015) and now we are back. its hot and humid- there is no getting around that. you will not see a nighttime temperature below 70 (atleast I never have). and the days are sticky- sometimes rainy- but in the years that I was there I never had entire washout days. crowds were low- but I have read last year was bad. food and wine moved up as well so that may impact you depending on when you go. that being said it is still one of the least crowded times to go ( I think people need to realize there is just no slow time anymore- and if there is Disney is cutting corners so it still feels busy).
