Mid May or Sept? Labor Day week?

Which would you say is the better week to go to WDW? I have looked at the crowd calendars and Labor Day week seems to be much less with the crowds and is a bit cheaper than May. We would be staying offsite most likely but we do have 6 kids so it would be nice not to have to rush through crowds. Thank you for your thoughts. :)

We were there Sept. 9-16 this last year and I loved the low crowd level. I will warn you that it is hot and humid though. One day we were waiting to get into AK and it was about 8:45 am and I noticed the top of my feet were sweaty and we were in the shade! We were able to ride many rides multiple times in a row with little to no wait. We also attend a MNSSHP which was really fun.

The temps will be similar at both times. But, just as a warning, the first week in September will be peak hurricane season! It's been quiet recently, but you never know!

For crowd levels, September is way better. And even then, it will sometimes feel crowded.

For many years, we went Labor Day week. The last 4 years we have been going early to Mid May. I think the crowd levels are lower in Sept. I personally think the temps are similar in May and Sept, but it is more humid in Sept. and rainy. Of course, there is food and wine in Sept. (you should check the dates I'm not sure when it starts) and Flower and Garden in the spring. Both are great. Really, it is a toss up as to what fits better with your schedule. We switched for a few reasons. We had a baby in July and weren't ready to go that Sept. but didn't want to wait an entire 2 years so....we went in the spring. Since we generally go every year, we have just been doing that since she was born. We were actually planning to go this past Sept. and then we had another baby in June:) so we are going in May again this year.

We went mid-late September in 2013 for our Honeymoon. It was hot, very hot, but it rained nearly every day of our trip except for one day out of the ten we were there. It would sometimes be a passing shower but also sometimes be non-stop rain for half a day.

For that reason alone we are going at the beginning of May this year.

I was there Labor Day week 2009 and mid-May 2010. I realize this is outdated, but May was definitely hotter and more crowded. It rained once in September and never in May. And September had free dining.

We've done 4 trips in September (Labor Day week and the week after) and we loved it. It is hot and it can rain but we've been lucky... A few showers here and there but nothing that was more than an hour or two. In all 4 trips, we've only had 1 time when we all got really wet and that was a crazy downpour this past September while we were watching MSEP. We had to wait until the parade passed before we could leave so we were kind of sitting ducks. But I've never seen it rain like that in all of the other trips we've taken, so I chalk that up as a fluke. My DH grew up in FL so he's used to it and rolls with it.
We LOVE the low crowds and Free Dining is always a plus (along with the Value rates). The only reason we'd pick a different time to go is because we're kind of worn out on the fall decorations and would like to see WDW in some other seasons. I always recommend September to anyone who asks!
