Hi everyone.

We are unsure when to plan our Wedding at Disney, we are thinking either Mid March or Mid April (But avoiding Easter). We went April last year the weather was perfect but the parks were quite busy. What is March like?

Thanks
Bekki

Hi Bekki,

We went 13th/27th March this year and the parks were pretty quiet, just getting busy the last few days when it was Easter.

The only thing I would say is the weather was unpredictable to say the least, we were watching temperatures for a couple of weeks before we left and it was struggling to reach 70 most days.
This often was what we found, we had some lovely sunny days, but also had days where it rained all day (almost British type weather), something we had never witnessed in Florida before.
In addition most morning's it was pretty cool, people were buying jumpers and coats at the parks...it actually ruined our Discovery Cove trip, the water was freezing and we had a horrible morning thunderstorm that lasted 2 hours.

So, personally I would recommend late April and if you do avoid Easter the parks shouldn't be too bad at all.
If we were not restricted to summer holidays from now on late April through early May would be our choice of when to go.

From what I understand mid and later March is very, very busy as its usually Spring Break. Schools out, theme parks are in. Some say more crowded than Summer, but I don't know about that.

April would be a better choice. I'll never go late March with all the horror stories I read about on these boards

Eeek what horror stories?

Check out the Theme Park Strategy Boards.

I booked early-mid March thinking Spring Break was at the end of March. I remember reading a lot of sites and forums including Dis) about when busy periods were. Spring Break period when the US schools/colleges break up before Easter being one of the busiest times of the year. Some have said busier than mid-August. Now this I find a little hard to believe, but I did notice this being said a few times.

I have been told very early March is okay, but gets busier each week. I'm back on 17th March, so hopefully will miss most of the crowds. Spring Break is supposed to be a bit of a nightmare. While not quite on the scale of our Chavs/Neds, the US teen like to let loose when college breaks.

Happy to be wrong here

As I said earlier we went 13th/27th - and the crowds were pretty light up until the last few days. We flew back Easter Sunday so obviously the last few days of our holiday were much busier.
I really think you will be fine crowd-wise, just make sure you check the weather as like I say it was pretty cold a lot of the mornings we were there. :)
