Mid June or Late August

Hi

We will be heading back to Universal in 2016. We are working on picking dates and we were considering mid-June (My birthday) or late August. Has anyone had experience with June? I have been to Universal the end of August before so I know what to expect but never in June.

Also - any word on King Kong and when it will open? That is kind of a deciding factor for me as well.

If you want to make sure you can ride Kong, I'd wait until August.

June is busier crowd-wise ( a lot of schools are out by mid June ).If KONG is important to you , August is better

We've been twice in early-ish June (June 8-14 and June 6-13) and the crowd levels were pretty decent. The first trip, it rained more than usual and the parks were empty. We walked on to FJ one drizzly evening, and never waited more than 30 min to ride anything, except Spiderman, around lunchtime on the one sunny day. This past summer (June 6-13), we got there at park open and rode everything we wanted to ride every day and were out by 2 pm. The only thing we did not ride that we wanted to ride was Minions, and we never saw it at less than 45 min, even when we got there right before opening time. We walked on to Mummy, MiB, Transformers, just after opening, and never waited longer than 30 min for anything else, not even the HP rides (we did Gringotts very late afternoon on Sunday and waited about 30 min, 20 min for FJ late that same day). The lines were getting noticeably longer the later in the week we got, but the weather was hot and sunny and just what most people want for a park visit. Of course, we get out of school in late May, barring excessive snow days, so early June works well for us.

ETA: we did not use Express Pass at all, and we were offsite both times.
