Hi everyone,

Due to other commitments and school holidays we have 2 possible dates for our next visit to Florida and WDW, the first is the 15th of Feb and the second is the 15th May. I have read lots of other threads with regards to the best time to go but would appreciate some input with regards to these specific dates if possible. Obviously the main things to consider are the weather and of course the queues.
Also the last time we visited we stayed at Port Orleans riverside which was very nice, however there are more of us planning to go on the next trip so we are considering a 5 bed house in Indian Creek. If anyone has stayed here or knows of the area then we would also greatly appreciate any input or experience.
Happy days.
Shaun.

Hi Shaun, and welcome to the DIS!

Mid February will be much more crowded than mid May. Many schools here in the states are closed the week of the 19th of February, so starting on Friday the 17th crowds will start to build. Also, the weather in February is quite unpredictable: you could have warm days (highs near 20-22 Centigrade) and cool mornings, or you could have mornings near freezing with cold days (highs of 7-10 degrees Centigrade). May weather is much warmer but not yet oppressively humid like it gets in the summer.

Cheers,
Bob

Thanks for your quick reply Bob. Some excellent advice there, just what I was looking for. Especially as we had previously favoured February as we thought it may be quieter. May it is then, Cant Wait.

I don't know what company you are looking at using, but I have used Award Pool Homes (who do have 5 bedroom homes in Indian Creek) and I can recommend that company highly. As a travel agent, I am very cautious on referring people to places like that. I have used them personally twice and also for clients and have never had a problem. All of their homes are located in neighborhoods that are within 9 miles of the WDW main gate and all the neighborhoods are very nice.

We are planning on going May 5-13 - too bad we'll miss you. It would be fun to meet someone else from the DISBoards!

Our family and another rented a house a few years back and its was great.

There were 10 of us 6 kids between the ages of 18 and 11 and 4 adults.
The house we rented had 5 bedroom (2 masters with their own bathrooms) and three other bedrooms with twin beds in each room. there was a livingroom/dinning area, dinning room, sitting room and full kitchen with a washer and dryer. The house was complete, all lining, towels and kitchen utinsels were included. (we had to purchase papergoods, soaps and of course food) There was also a screened in pool which was great for the kids when we returned in the afternoon for a break from the parks before we went back for firework shows.

We were also able to save some money on food cost

I would definitely AVOID February - May is much nicer

Thanks for the link TravelinGal I will have a look. There are so many different companys offering accomodation, its nice to know one that comes recomended.
Also thanks DeeDeeDis for sharing your experience's its good to know that the area is ok. From my searching it looked like Indian Creek was one of the closest Villa areas to WDW, would you agree with that ?
