We recently returned from a week at DW. We stayed at Pop Century for 8 days. Generally we really like Pop, but we were put off by the frequent temporary pool closures due presumably to "accidents". The main pool seemed to a be closed at least daily, and a few times it happened multiple times in a day. At one point 2 out of the three pools were closed at the same time. Is this pretty typical? I have been to Disney resorts 3 other times, though have never used the pool much like we did this trip, but I cannot recall any temporary closures on those trips.

Or was something else contributing to the closures? I did not ask the lifegaurd what had happened each time it was closed, but the two times I asked it was because of an "accident". We were there the week of August 16th.

Thanks.

on our last vacation we stayed in Pop (Jan 29- Feb 5th 2008) and we experienced 2 pool closures due to "accidents" in the same day!

The first was in the bowling pin pool, everyone was called out of the pool because of a "floater".

We then decided to take all of our stuff over to the main pool and swim there for a while, so did quite a few of the others that were also swimming there.

About an hour after we got to the main pool everyone was called out of the pool again because of a "floater" again.

Now, the bowling pin pool was not really crowded and the youngest person I observed was about 8 years old, so this was clearly not a diaper mishap. After the second incident we headed back to the room for long showers!
