I was wondering if the microwave and toaster in the food court area of the resorts can be used for food brought from home or is only for food bought from the restaurant/store? Also is ther generally a long wait to use these?
thanks

No problems using the microwave in the food court with your own food. They would rather you do that than cook in your room. Usually no lines.

Do all the food courts have these? We will be at POR.

We have stayed at POR many times and I can confirm they have a toaster and a microwave in the food court.

we used ours at the all stars. Don't forget the pop-corn bags for your kids. They came in handy and saved us alot of money. Not sure about your but when my kids smell that pop-corn in the parks they always want it.

Thanks guys. I had noticed them when we were at Pop in May. But I wasn't sure if I could use them for my own food. This will make my life so much easier with my picky-eating DD!princess:

Great! Thanks, folks!

Now, I assume that once the food court closes down for the night, it's locked up and one can't get to the microwave/toaster. Anyone know?

I was planning to take mac n cheese boxes for my kids. Is there boiling water there, or do I warm up the water in the microwave? Anyone know? Thanks!

There would be hot water for tea. Or you could just heat it up in the microwave.

We are staying at All-Stars Music. What kinds of things do people toast or cook in the toaster or microwave? Would we look a little odd going in with our own food, paper plates, etc? It would sure save us a lot of hassle in the rooms, but not sure this wouldn't be frowned upon by CMs.

We've never been looked at wierd. Many people do this. The only time I've had a wait, was at peak time. I've never gone down once it's totally closed, but we've made popcorn pretty late.
We've made toast (including bagel bread brought from home) in the toaster, and mac and cheese from home (the kind in the packet) in the micro, that food in the little containers (like spaghetti and raviolis's, and heated up leftovers from Olive Garden, etc. I make our hot cereal using the hot tea water.

Do you bring the cooked food back to your room, or do you eat it in the restaurant?
