Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?

I couldn't agree more. I think it is easier to answer 'why not go' than 'why shoud we go'. I actually think WDW has ruined me on going other places. :rolleyes1 None of the places we used to go seem as fun to me as before. I'd just rather save my money and go back to Disney.

And I also agree that there is nowhere else that you can let loose and have a really good time without a care of what anyone else thinks! :thumbsup2

Love the Dinosaur pic! I'll just say that my Dinosaur pic is the antithesis of yours! :rolleyes1

That Dino pic has been one of my faves since you first posted it ... two years ago? Have I been following you that long? :lmao:

I also agree with the addiction. It is so hard to explain to non-addicts. A good friend of mine just asked me the other day: "Don't you guys get bored seeing and doing the same thing every year? Don't you want to go somewhere else?"

I just explain that there is always something new to see or do, and, NO, we don't get bored. Even riding Pirates three or four times in a row doesn't bore me. :lmao: As for wanting to do something else? We have tried planning to go other places, but for our budget, we get much more bang for our buck at the World. But, I must admit, I never try all that hard to find another place for vacation. :rotfl2:

Arkansans will also understand the use of "how come?" I think I said it today, in fact! :rotfl:

I agree that your Dinosaur photo is awesome! :thumbsup2

I think you definitely did a wonderful job of summarizing why we all go back to Disney, again and again and again. :lovestruc

Your Dinosaur pic truly belongs in some sort of Ride Photo Hall of Fame, if such a thing exists!

I guess how could even be how come you’re going again? :confused3 Okay, so that last how would only be used that way if you lived in the backwoods of North Louisiana but it actually is "how", at least where I’m from. :rotfl2:

I used the same phrase way back in the 50's growing up on the South Side of Chicago! Not exactly considered 'backwoods' country ...although people on the North Side would dispute that! :rotfl:

Okay, I'm here… I'm sorry it took me so long! Geez… why can't these kids feed and clean themselves! :rotfl: A mother's work is never done, right?!?!

All this talk about Pascagoula, Ocean Springs, Louisiana… making me miss Hattiesburg! :sad2: Lord knows the prayers I prayed to get out of there! But now the Gulf Coast has a piece of my heart!

So glad Jesse and Lacey are going with you guys!!! YAY!!!

I think those of us on board for this TR know exactly what you are talking about! Our "once in a lifetime" vacation with the boys has turned into a "when are we going back" obsession!

I am all caught back up!! I don't know why I thought Jesse and Lacey were going on the cruise with y'all too :confused3. I know you will be more excited to get off the ship and head over to Disney to see Lacey and Jesse, than to get to the parks!!

Jesse doesn't have enough vacation time to do both the cruise and WDW so we had them choose which one they wanted to do. I don't blame them for choosing WDW since it's the longer of the two trips.

And that's why I love the Disboards so much! ;)

Glad that you're here! Isn't it crazy how we wish and hope and pray to leave our hometown and then later wish we were back there?

We are super excited to have Lacey and Jesse going with us! John is usually the one with the tight pursestrings but he's the one who suggested paying for their trip. And he says he's a tough guy. :lmao:

Thank goodness we aren't the only ones who say "how come?" I thought it was only in the deep South.

I love the fact that the people here on the Disboards can appreciate why we keep going back to Disney. A Ride Photo Hall of Fame......hum, that sounds like a thread I need to start. ;)

We use the term "how come" in our neck of the woods, too.

It sure does make me feel better knowing we aren't the only folks who use "how come". :thumbsup2

Arkansans will also understand the use of "how come?" I think I said it today, in fact! :rotfl:

I would have bet money that the people in Arkansas would use "how come" too since that's where my Daddy was born and raised so we visited there a lot.

We've done two pretty funny Dinosaur pictures but the one I posted here was from this past May. I can't believe it's been almost a year since that trip.

I wholeheartedly agree with your way of thinking. There's always something "new" to see and do at Walt Disney World and then there are our old favorites that we simply must do time and time again.

I couldn't agree more. I think it is easier to answer 'why not go' than 'why shoud we go'. I actually think WDW has ruined me on going other places. :rolleyes1 None of the places we used to go seem as fun to me as before. I'd just rather save my money and go back to Disney.

Disney has "ruined" us too. Whenever we go somewhere else, I find myself comparing it with Disney even though I know I shouldn't.

Thanks for the compliment on the Dino pic. I'm already thinking of what we will do for this trip.

Love the Dinosaur picture! We are always staging our Everest and RnR pictures!

Last September I went to Disney with mom friends - and we staged one of our Test Track pictures - with us choking our friend sitting in the middle :thumbsup2 - maybe you'll need a choking ride picture to go with your title!

Well, you already know that I love me some choking pictures so I know I'd love your Test Track picture.

We have fallen for WDW the same way you guys have:cloud9: I can't believe we are going on our 4th trip in as many years and have a 5th in the future!

I think the Dino pic is the best! Total Fun!

I'd love to drive, but it's a full 24 hours for us and that just cuts into park time! I'm scared of the cost of plan ticket though!:scared1:

When we first started going to Disney, we fell so hard that we went three times in 2000. I wish that we could do that again but money seems to be tighter than it was back then. :confused3

That is the best Dinosaur picture I've ever seen! Too funny! :lmao: Thanks Lisa! I needed a good laugh today!

I'm glad that you liked the Dino picture. We like trying to out-do ourselves every year.

That dinosaur picture was just what I needed today!!! You couldn't have planned any better reactions from the other people in your car!!

When newbies ask me for advice about their Disney trips, the first piece of advice I give is to realize you can't do it all within the constraints of a week's vacation. Heck, we have lived here for over a decade and we still haven't done it all!!

The people in front of us were scared to death! Poor things!

I am kind of glad that we were so unaware of how big Disney was on our first trip. Otherwise, we would have walked away from the vacation feeling disappointed that we hadn't seen it all.

This one...

And act like no one's looking:

is my absolute FAVE!!!! I love that you can have fun, act like a kid and it's totally normal :)

and MAN OH MAN THAT DINO PIC!!!! :rotfl::rotfl2:
That's the BEST!!! I SSOOOO need to show that one to DH and DD14!
Don't be too surprised if you see one of those show up on our trip report now ;) lol

I'm glad that you liked our "act like no one's looking" pictures. We had lots to choose from so it was hard to pick just a few.

Love all your pictures especially the Dinosaur one!:thumbsup2 I think you really captured how special Disney is.:lovestruc I agree...nothing compares. It's the best!!!:cloud9:

It really is THE best place to vacation! :thumbsup2

If you're going to have an addiction.......that's a good one to have! :yay:

True! True! True!

Great update, Lisa.

I'm with you; while we may take short trips here or there that are not far home, there is no place like Disney World for us. Andy keeps asking what we are doing for our 30th anniversary next year and I keep telling him we are going to Disney and Marco Island like every year. He keeps asking "don't you want to go somewhere else; there's so many other places you can go?" And my firm response is always -- "but Disney makes me happy and I see no reason to mess with success."

I can't wait to read the "plans."

Uh, how could Andy think that there was anyplace else BUT Disney to spend your 30th anniversary? We spent our 25th there and it was pure perfection. :lovestruc

Behind a few posts on this one...where to begin????

Mosquitos: I just spent 4 days in Orlando and saw no mosquitos. Returned last night, sat on the porch swing and now my legs are covered in itchy, red splotchy bites. Nasty things those mosquitos are!!! :headache:

I loved all of your "where", "when", "how" posts. Those were great! I check those flights from Jackson regualrly and they are always too high! Last year Keith flew down one way out of Jackson. His ticket (the lowest I have seen) was only $40 dollars less than what we spent on gas and food down and back! I would love to fly for more Disney time but airlines are not the friendly skies for that!! :sad1:

Okay, I am caught up and ready for more!!

The mosquitos are bad here right now! I was working in the garden and yard this weekend and they were everywhere!

I wish we could fly out of Jackson (or anywhere for that matter) but the prices are simply too high. Even when I factor in the cost of gas, food on the road and our overnight stay, it's still cheaper to drive.

So What's The Plan Stan? I mean Lisa.

As I said earlier, our vacations to Disney started out at just 4 days total. Can you believe that we were ever ignorant enough to think that four days would be enough? Wait, don't answer that! I think you might have something sarcastic to say given the fact that I've posted so many goofy pictures of us that look make us look pretty darn ignorant. :rotfl2:

Let me just admit that we were that ignorant back in the day before I discovered the fact that there were actual Disney vacation planning guides out there and, more importantly, before I discovered the wonderful world of the Disboards. :disrocks:

Over the years, we have learned many things and I've got the travel to and from Disney down to a Science. I'm serious! I can tell you where to pull off to get gas :car:, where to stop and get a quick drive through lunch popcorn:: (okay so popcorn isn't exactly lunch but there were no burger eatin' smiley faces, okay) and even which rest areas have the best potties and vending machines. :p I also know what I need to pack to keep the kiddos (granted there is only one "real" kiddo but there's also John that I need to keep busy) entertained :music: Speaking of packing, I can smoosh 999 suitcases in the car and nobody feels like this :crowded:. Now, I can't say that they won't feel that way on the way home 'cause we buy a bunch of souvenirs but on the way there, everybody's comfy.

Goodness, I am running on aren't I? Getting back to the plans. The current plans for my bunch are to leave when I get off work on May 22nd which is normally at 5:00 p.m. but my boss will surely try to cram as much on me that last day. By the time I leave work, get home and we hit the road, it will probably be about 6:00 p.m or so and our plan is to drive as far as we can which, if all goes according to plan, will put us at the Jameson Inn in Crestview, Florida.

539492_29_b.jpg

The last five, six, maybe seven trips, we have stayed at the Jameson Inn and we arrive somewhere between midnight and one a.m. :faint: We'll have a continental breakfast there the next morning and hit the road once again. From Crestview to Disney World is one of the more boring stretches of road. I'm serious! All there is to see are these:

we%2Bbare%2Ball.jpg

They continue almost the entirety of Interstate 75. I remember when Hunter was beginning to read and he'd try to read every billboard there was. When we'd see one of the We Bare All billboards, we'd distract him because, I mean, who wants to give a "birds and the bees" lesson while on vacation?

See the map below....notice Crestview way on the left side? Now, go to your right to Lake City and then follow Interstate 75 alllllllllllll the way down to Kissimmee (oops, Kissimmee isn't on that map....follow is down to Orlando then) That's right, that's how far we have to drive on Day 2:

I'm not sure what time we'll arrive in Kissimmee but I'm thinking mid-to-late afternoon at which time we'll be seeing these beauties! No, I'm not taking about the We Bare All ladies, I'm talking about these beauties:

The family thinks that we are going to be staying at All Star Music Resort on the night of May 23rd but I'm got a little surprise up my sleeve but we are, instead, staying at:

**Well, phooey! Just got a call from the courthouse and I need to tend to it. At least, I got some of our plans posted.

You guys are stopping where I live. :rotfl: (Actually, I live about 20 minutes away, in FT. Walton Beach) but my family lives in Crestview, and I'm over there once a week. Supposedly that Jameson Inn is haunted, it's kind of a famous place in the town. :confused3 I've always thought the Jameson was the best looking hotel in the area, and it's right next to Cracker Barrel, which is a big plus. :goodvibes

I know what you mean about the longgggg drive across FL. It's my least favorite part, and a lot of people I talk to don't realize how far east you have to drive to get towards Central FL.

I think I'll keep that little "haunted" tidbit to myself. John would freak the heck out if he knew that! The office building that I work in is haunted. No kidding. It's an old hotel that dates waaaaay back and I'm always smelling old pipe tobacco and things are moved around all the time. I've even heard someone whistling down the hallway when I'm here all along. Once, when I was in my boss' office his chair turned all the way around and there was no one in it. Hey, as long as they aren't hurting me, they can stay here all theywant.

Oh I almost forgot to mention that my Senior Trip was to Ft. Walton! I'm not gonna say how many years ago that was. :rotfl:

I know what you mean when you try to explain to someone how long we have to drive even after we are in Florida. That's a long drive!

that's a LOT of driving!:scared1: but it'll all be worth it :goodvibes
and you guys are really freaking me out with this talk about haunted hotels:scared:

oh ps, by the size of that ToT photo I'm guessing you must REALLY like ToT! :rotfl2:

It really is a lot of driving but we pretty much have it down pat and it gives us a chance to catch up with what's been going on lately.

There's lots of other things that happen at my workplace....like me trying to lock the door from the outside and somebody or something pushing from the inside to keep me from locking it, or the time that a book fell from a bookshelf and opened to a page about a case we were just talking about, you know stuff like that. :rotfl:

I didn't realize how BIG the Tower of Terror picture was. I used google images and copied the link here. I guess I need to find a smaller one huh.
