Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?

Confessions of the over-planning Disney trip planner:

Oh trip report readers, I have a confession to make. In all actuality, I probably have a few confessions that I could spout out but I’ll hold off on those for another day.;) They say that confession is good for the soul so I guess I might as well spit it out. No, wait, before I do, I need to tell ya’ll a bit more about our plans.

As I have recently learned from two most wonderful readers, we are, apparently, staying in a haunted hotel that’s pretty darn close to a prison. I’m now wondering if I should a run an idea by John. Should we trade in this:

for this:

Just in case we run into one or more of these guys:

Hey, I wonder how much it would cost to rent the services of the Ghostbuster crew for one night?

I’m thinking that it’s been a while since any of the guys have had a hit movie so they may come cheap. May just have to add a little extra cash to my stash in case I have to give them a ring-a-ding-ding.

Sorry, rambling. :sad2: Like I said earlier, we are going to be staying at Port Orleans Riverside for our first night and I’m (not we’re because the other part of "we" doesn’t even have a clue we are staying there) excited about trying something new. You see, we are what you would call a "stuck in a rut" kinda family. We find something we like and we pretty much stick to it.

Having said that, every year, when it’s time to start planning our Disney vacation, I start pricing out all the other resorts, all the way from deluxe villas down to the values. Then, I go back and do it from the values all the way up to the villas again. I don’t know why I even go to all that work because the head of this "stuck in a rut" family, Mr. John Stuck-in-a-Rut More Than The Rest of Us McBride, is always going to choose Caribbean Beach Resort. I can’t say that I blame him because we do love it there.
:hippie:

Annnnnnnyway, our first night stay is at Port Orleans Riverside and the plans are to go to Downtown Disney for dinner. I'm looking forward to taking the boat to Downtown Disney:

And, this is where I must speak my confession. It’s a tough one and it's a biggie. :sad1: As a matter of fact some on the Disboards would say that such a confession would require that the confessor be pulled down Main Street and flogged with a wet noodle from Ohana.

My confession? I have two dinner ADRs made for May 23rd.

What? You can’t read that tiny print? Okay, already. I HAVE TWO DINNER ADRs MADE FOR MAY 23rd. :scared:

Oh it feels so good to get that off my chest! Let me explain why I have the two dinner ADRs. When I started planning this trip, it was to be just John, Hunter and myself. I made an ADR at T-Rex. Then, Mama said that she wanted to go, and I couldn't get a dinner ADR for four people at T-Rex. When I asked where everybody wanted to eat, Mama said that it didn't matter and John and Hunter said Planet Hollywood. I made the Planet Hollywood ADR. About three weeks to a month later, Mama changed her mind about going on vacation with us so I changed Planet Hollywood to just three people. In the midst of all the changes, I forgot about the T-Rex ADR. That is, until about 2 weeks ago. Now, we don't know where we want to eat. On the one hand, there's the really cool props at Planet Hollywood:

Universal+Studios+Florida+horror+props.jpg

and our favorite dish there is the lasagna:

On the other hand, there's the really neat dinosaurs and special effects at T-Rex:

Where my favorite was the appetizer as an entree:

Such decisions! We don't know which one we want to keep. So, now that I've confessed, I'm going to make another confession.....I'm keeping them both!

**Up next: We're going on a boat and it ain't grandpa's fishing boat, it's a great big boat!

Not just any prison, Lisa---It's where they house the death-row inmates! Seriously, you had me cracking up over your comments about prisoners and Ghostbusters!

Wow on the confession! I am not offended in the least bit, but I dare you to go over to the Theme Parks Attractions/Strategies and post that info! It seems as if a lot of folks over there can get riled up about a little stuff! ;)

I think I ate that same appetizer as an entree when we ate at T-Rex during our March, 2010 trip!

OMG

You had better put on some fireproof clothing, and get an extinguisher! the FLAMES may be upon you!:rotfl2:

Some people just need to complain, let'um! PH and T-Red are walk ins, it will be okay!

Love your Ghost busters pics! It's my hubby's favorite movie! Who, by the way must be 2nd cousin to your stuck in a rut hubby! If her suggests we eat at the same restaurant one more time!!!:headache:

Can't wait to hear about your cruise plans!

Oh sweet mercy! :scared1: Wonder if I need to be "packing" and I'm not talking about a suitcase. :rotfl:

Oh I know how some people get all riled up over the ADRs. I've seen some big whopper fights on the restaurant boards.

I fully expected to see some flames so I bought this ahead of time

I am thinking the same way as you are....Planet Hollywood and T-Rex take walk-ins anyway so I don't feel too bad about having two ADRs. I would never hold multiple ADRs for a restaurant that was super popular like LeCellier, Ohana or the like.

What is it with the men being stuck in a rut? I know that I am stuck in a rut to some degree but not as bad as that hubby of mine.

I won't tell on you! I'll keep your secret! However, did you have to use your CC to book them? Will they charge your card if you don't show up? I don't know how this new system works yet. :confused3

My vote is T-Rex!

I appreciate your keeping my confession quiet. ;) You do not have to place a credit card on those two restaurants, thank goodness. If so, we'd have to make a decision whether we wanted to or not.

That's good! :goodvibes I still say T-Rex, because I haven't been there before! :rotfl:

wow! Good luck at the haunted hotel. Better you than me! :rotfl2:

and I hope you are able to figure out which ADR you want to keep. Don't worry - I'm a non flamer ;)

Wow, sounds like you will be having all your excitement before you even get to Disney!! Ghosts, death row inmates, naughty billboards and.....TWO ADR's!! :scared1:

So, I wonder if the ghosts will keep the inmates away! :lmao:

Love your ghostbusters pictures.

Hope you don't get sent to prison for your two ADRs! Naughty!

Did you make the TRex reservation directly through the restaurant or through the Disney site? I'm gonna say if you made it direct, and the Planet Hollywood one through Disney, that you don't actually have two reservations.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Ooooh, Lisa, I'm going to tell!!!!! (Said in my best little sister voice) :rotfl2:

When we first booked our May vacation, we thought that DH's mom might join us, so at 180 days, I booked all of our ADRs for 4 people and then had DH book all of our ADRs for 5 people. I'll join you in the confessional now!!!

Of course, we did cancel the 5 people reservations as soon as we knew that my MIL wasn't going to be joining us.

Right now, we do have 2 ADRs for May 30th, though. (Oh, the horror!!!) We just booked the one last week and we will probably be cancelling it this week. the 30th is DH's birthday and he originally said that he'd like to try 1900 Park Fare for dinner, so we booked that. Then, he said that he might want to eat at Yachtman Steakhouse instead, so we booked that. Now, he's wishy-washy on which one he wants to do. I'm thinking we'll end up doing 1900 so that the girls have fun, too.

So, to make a really long post short...no flames from me and since I haven't eaten at either place, I can't help you on the choice. Yep, I'm nothing if not really really helpful. :rotfl:

Shame on both you and Lisa! Imagine ... the horror ... TWO ADRs each??? :scared1: OMG!!!!! Shame, shame, shame!!! :headache:

OK, was that flame enough?? :lmao: I just don't get why people get so upset on the disboards. :confused3 We are talking Disney here. Isn't it suppose to be a "happy place?" I know I am happy talking anything Disney. Just ask any random stranger who happens to make the mistake of mentioning Disney within my earshot. :lmao:

Hey Lisa!
so happy to hear Jessie & Lacey are joining you guys this go round, how fun!!!

fun start and what a wonderful Disney adventure you have planned! after seeing you lasagna picture and the Trex pictures you have me re-thinking the few ADR's I have....may be making some changes:upsidedow

Have a great day! looking forward to following along...thanks for the post with the links made it easy to catch up with you!

Picking between Planet Hollywood and T-Rex is tough...they both have their pros and cons. Glad I don't have to make that choice.:rotfl:

Sorry about letting the cat out of the bag about the haunted hotel, but hey, if it gets the Ghostbusters out of the woodwork then it's a plus!

That's good! :goodvibes I still say T-Rex, because I haven't been there before! :rotfl:

I'm leaning towards T-Rex simply because we have only eaten there two times and have eaten at Planet Hollywood multiple times.

wow! Good luck at the haunted hotel. Better you than me! :rotfl2:

and I hope you are able to figure out which ADR you want to keep. Don't worry - I'm a non flamer ;)

I think I mentioned it before but my place of business is haunted. All sorts of things go on around here but nothing scary. I think they are mostly mischevious staple puller hiders that like to smoke old timey cigars and whistle while they walk down the hallway.

Thanks for being a non-flamer! I normally don't keep two ADRs at a time but this time it is a true accident. Now we just need to make up our minds.

Wow, sounds like you will be having all your excitement before you even get to Disney!! Ghosts, death row inmates, naughty billboards and.....TWO ADR's!! :scared1:

So, I wonder if the ghosts will keep the inmates away! :lmao:

Tell me about it! We can't even get to Disney without some sort of excitement going on. :lmao:

Oooh, I hadn't thought about the ghosts scaring away the inmates. But.....what if the ghosts are former inmates? :scared1:

Love your ghostbusters pictures.

I had fun writing this latest installment. I remember going to see Ghostbusters when it came out and everybody thought the special effects were so awesome. They were back then.

I made the T-Rex reservation through the Disney site as well as the Planet Hollywood one. Apparently, I made the T-Rex reservation without entering my email address so that's why it didn't kick it out when I made the Planet Hollywood ADR.

Nany Nany Boo Boo, I'm telling on you too! :lmao:

I've heard great things about the food at Yachtman's but I'd probably go with 1900 Park Fare too simply to please my kiddos. That's just the kind of Moms we both are. ;)

Shame on both you and Lisa! Imagine ... the horror ... TWO ADRs each??? :scared1: OMG!!!!! Shame, shame, shame!!! :headache:

I am liking your kind of flames...they just sting a little and don't burn. :rotfl2: I can understand why some folks would get upset if people had two or more ADRs for the more popular restaurants but some people get wild and crazy fighting about it.

I am the same way....get me to talking about Disney and I never shut up.

Hey Lisa!

Connie's in the house! It's so good to see you back on the Dis.

We are so happy that Lacey & Jesse said yes when we offered to take them with us. Jesse is going to get on heck of a initiation into this Disney loving family.

Sorry about letting the cat out of the bag about the haunted hotel, but hey, if it gets the Ghostbusters out of the woodwork then it's a plus!

Right now, I'm leaning towards T-Rex. We haven't had a bad meal there yet. We've eaten at Planet Hollywood many many times but it's been a while since we've been there.

Oh it's okay that you told me about the haunted hotel. As long as they don't go poking around on me or hurting me, I'm cool with it. I'm used to working with ghosts every day so it'll be just like any other day for me.

I'm way behind and starting reading backwards. I vote for T-rex, only because I've never been to Planet Hollywood, and you really don't need to see Chucky after your haunted hotel stay!

Love the newest installment! ROFL! So creative.

Did I see somewhere that you are debating between 1900 and Yachtsman? No question about it, Yachtsman!! The food at 1900 is mediocre at best. The most recent TRs I've seen of 1900 had the character interactions as rushed. I do love the strawberry soup though, but that's not big enough of a draw to get me back there.

Thanks for explaining this! Every time I try to double-book a meal (not that I would ever dream of doing such a thing), the WDW system tells me "Uh, no. You already have a dinner ADR." or some such thing. Silly computers!

I would go with T-Rex, but only because I've never been there and the one time I ate at the DTD Planet Hollywood (or the times I've eaten at any Planet Hollywood, for that matter), I wasn't impressed.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the latest installment. All day long at work, I read and write about sad stories so the Dis is my outlet for writing funny things.

That was MissLiz that was debating 1900 and Yachtsman. MissLiz are you listening?

Oh I know that you would never ever ever think of double booking. I know of no one who would do such a thing.;) You can double book if you skip putting in your email address on one of them. Or, you can book under two email addresses.

It's been quite some time since we ate at Planet Hollywood as a family. Lacey and Hunter ate there together a few years back while John and I had our 25th wedding anniversary meal at Grand Floridian Cafe. I'm thinking we are going to eat at T-Rex.
