Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?

Nice billboards!:rotfl2: I can see how keeping Hunter distracted near the signs would be important!

I bet you guys can drive that route with your eyes closed by now!

Florida is not well known for a fun drive. We were so ready to get to Orlando and it just takes F.O.R.E.V.E.R!!!!! :faint:

Okay, so I'm hoping I don't get confused about which one I've read when it comes to your reports!! (there needs to be a "fingers crossed" smilie!!!)

I'm falling asleep just thinking about riding that long....ugh! :lmao:

I'm terrible at falling asleep in the car. Even when we are driving into Atlanta (about 20-30 minutes), I start to fall asleep. But, this trip, I've decided that we are NOT bring pillows in the car. They take up so much room and having my pillow right there is just asking for me to fall asleep.

We are hopefully going to be on the road by 1pm-ish on the 24th. Bella's school has early dismissal at 12:30 that day, so we'll just pop her in the car when she gets home.

I am extremely glad that she got a Kindle for Christmas from Grandpa. No more lugging a ton of books with us. We usually end up taking 4 or 5 books because she goes through them so quickly. It will be so much nicer to buy a few books for her teeny-tiny Kindle. Yay for space saving!

I'm always in charge of packing the car. If I don't, DH comes in and says we have to leave some things because we don't have room. I don't know what he does, but he can't pack a car at all.

This Alabamian couldn't help but notice when you stop to spend the night in Crestview, you're just across the state line from Atmore---where Holman state pen. is.....YIKES! I'd be more afraid of an escapee than the hotel being haunted!

I bet it is going to be hard to pass those Disney signs on the way down. You are going to have to fight the instinct to turn in! :lmao:

I have a lot of catching up to do!

Love the Dino picture!! :lmao: Also love your "act like nobody is watching"! :goodvibes

I cannot believe those billboards!! :scared1: I would not like to deal with those!! We go I95 to I4 and I have to say that I4 is so LONG. The problem is that there is nothing to look at and no where to stop.

Love that you are staying in a haunted hotel! You will have to let us know if you have any friendly visitors. :lmao:

I can so sympathize with the billboards! We have to put up with that junk all the way down I-95 too! :headache: I personally wish they would keep their slumming private and not force all of us and our kids to have to think about that for hours on end!!!

Coming down from my soapbox now...

I know you are not looking forward to that long drive. I think we are driving this year too and it's 10 hours for us. I can't imagine 15! :scared1: Whatever you do, DON'T forget the change for the toll road between WDW and the port!

Can't wait to hear your opinion of POR!!!

Your family looks like so much fun!!! Great pictures :)
I can empathize on the driving down, we have two days of about 11 hours each. Driving down you have the Magic to look forward to, the ride back seems longer especially knowing it's back to real life :( I miss the Disney billboards going to WDW, much better to look at ;)
Love reading your trip report!!! Hope you enjoy POR, I'll be staying there for my third time this trip---wish it could be the Poly, but I'll stay at my fav moderate :)

Looking at the "We bare all" billboards always makes me laugh. I wonder what they do for hair nets? :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Oh my goodness, those billboards are hilarious!

And yay for POR! It's one of my favorites (second only to POFQ).

Love the plans so far! It's a lot of driving, but it's part of the fun. At least it is for us, too.

Gotta love those billboards. We ran across them on I-95, on our first trip to Disney World. DD was 9 at the time, and after seeing this

She wanted to know "Why on Earth would you want to look at naked b**bs while you are eating??" We all about died laughing at that one... :rotfl2:

Does John know you switched hotels? I hadn't realized it was a surprise. How exciting!

Hooray for May 22nd! I am also counting down the days until that day! :cool1:

Haunted Hotel? Nice. So, looking back at your previous stays there, did anything strange happen that could have been the ghosts? My kids would freak out and probably not be able to sleep if they found that out!

We try to keep our kids from seeing those billboards, too.

I hope that our paths cross somewhere along the way. I'm thinking we have a pretty good chance while we are on the cruise.

I only switched for our first night. I had All Stars Music booked for our pre-cruise stay but then changed it over to POR so we could take the boat to DTD. Neither John nor Hunter have any idea we are staying at POR.

"Out of the mouths of babes". I'm with your daughter on that one. :lmao:

That's hilarious! That reminds me of the time a bunch of people that Lacey was with asked where they wanted to go eat and one person suggested Hooters. Lacey said "why in the world would a Hooterless girl want to go to Hooters?"

Oh my goodness, those billboards are hilarious!

And yay for POR! It's one of my favorites (second only to POFQ).

They are eeeeeeeverywhere along that streetch of interstate!

Looking at the "We bare all" billboards always makes me laugh. I wonder what they do for hair nets? :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I don't even wanna know! :lmao:

Thank you! We are a pretty fun bunch if I do say so myself. Oh gracious! 11 hours for two days...that is a lot of driving.

I am looking forward to staying at POR even if it is for just one night.

If there weren't sooooo many of the billboards, I would be okay with them. But, they are every mile or so.

I have already told John that we have to have change for the tollroad when we drive to and from the port. I remember your story and I don't want to be stressing like you were.

I have a lot of catching up to do!

Love the Dino picture!! :lmao: Also love your "act like nobody is watching"! :goodvibes

Yay for being caught up! Thank goodness I'm not a fast poster.

I had no idea that the hotel was haunted but we haven't had problems before so I guess we'll be okay.

Yeah, it was a bit tough when he was younger. Now, he has his eyes glued to his DS or watching a movie.

We really do have the driving down pat. There's one stretch between Leesburg and Clermont Florida and it's nothing but little towns with lots of red lights and stopping. We've talked about finding another way so that we can avoid the stops but we never do it.

Florida is not well known for a fun drive. We were so ready to get to Orlando and it just takes F.O.R.E.V.E.R!!!!! :faint:

If I could see some pretty ocean or a lot of palm trees when I was driving across Florida, I'd be perfectly happy with the drive. We used to exit the interstate near Tallahasee and cut through horse training country but they've closed and the drive isn't worth seeing any more.

John's driving scares the bejeebers out of me so it's very rare that I fall asleep while he's driving. The one time that I slept when coming home, he and Lacey woke me up to ask me where we were. :scared1: Ummm, how would I know? I was asleep!

This Alabamian couldn't help but notice when you stop to spend the night in Crestview, you're just across the state line from Atmore---where Holman state pen. is.....YIKES! I'd be more afraid of an escapee than the hotel being haunted!

Well great! Now I'm going to be paranoid about ghosts AND excapees. :lmao:

I bet it is going to be hard to pass those Disney signs on the way down. You are going to have to fight the instinct to turn in! :lmao:

Thankfully, we will be spending a little time at Disney before the cruise. If not, I don't think I'd be able to pass Disney up.

Your plans sound awesome so far!!! I wish I was going 2 weeks later than I am. :guilty:

Hi Lisa, Reading you PTR! Loving it all. You are such a good story teller! Keeps me in stitches!:)

I love how you even make the ride to Florida interesting! Haunted hotels and Billboards advertising erotica. Never a dull moment for you folks!

I know! I guess next year, we need to coordinate our calendars so that we can finally meet.

Thank you! Being a paralegal in a divorce/custody/support law firm, all I hear and read all day long are sad stories. It makes me appreciate what I have at home and it certainly adds to the importance of being silly and funny.

I love how you even make the ride to Florida interesting! Haunted hotels and Billboards advertising erotica. Never a dull moment for you folks!

I'm gonna be on the lookout for interesting things/bilboards, etc. on this next trip too. Hopefully, it will be more than X rated billboards. ;)
