Mickeystoontown's Gang hits the Bahamas & WDW! Who gets choked or stuck this time?

I vote for T-Rex. We have a Planet Hollywood here I went once that was enough. Maybe the one at DTD is better? I just like the atmosphere at T-Rex especially with a little boy.

No flaming here:hippie:

No flames here either!:thumbsup2 Glad to see you are prepared with that flame suit though...

We haven't tried either one...so no recommendations from me. Well, other than the fact that that we are going to T-Rex and that appetizer looks yummy! I'm definitely thinking about that as my entree! It looks like a ton of food!

Oh boy Lisa! TWO ADR's?? How dare you?? Honestly, I would hope people have more to worry about in this country than whether little old Lisa from Louisiana has two reservations booked for dinner at Walt Disney World! ;)

That said...I'd keep T-Rex. PH has never impressed me and I'd love to try T-Rex. So...for what it's worth, that's my vote!

Tell John Stuck-in-a-Rut McBride that POR Is fabulous! I'm sure once it's sprung on him, he will love it! Sometimes the idea of change is much worse than the actual change.

My boys would have a field day with those billboards...good thing we fly! LOL!

Oh sweet mercy! What is it with the men being stuck in a rut? I know that I am stuck in a rut to some degree but not as bad as that hubby of mine.

I totally stand by this comment! We would be at PO this coming trip if they had military discounted rooms available. Instead it is CBR and I am excited to try something new. But I adore PO!! I take it you will be there on Wednesday night? If so you have to stop in and hear Yeehaw Bob! that show was cater-made for your family!! :lmao:

Does having two ADRs on seperate days knowing one will be cancelled the same as double booking? :rolleyes1 We are trying to decide breakfast or dinner at different places. T-Rex is a must for Keith because (again) men like to stick in a rut but at least I like most of his ruts!

It's good to know that it's not just my husband that's super stuck in a rut. I hope that you guys enjoy the CBR as much as we do AND I hope that we enjoy POR just as much as ya'll do. :thumbsup2

I like your way of thinking on "questionable" double bookings. I am really thinking we're going to be going to T-Rex.

I know! Can you believe that a good Christian girl like me would have two ADRs booked at the same time? :littleangel:

I know that both Hunter and John will be excited when I tell them that we're saying at POR instead of All Star Music. Having said that, I'm not so sure they'd be so excited if I told them we are staying there the whole time.

Oh yeah, I had the flame suit all ready to throw on.

We've eaten at T-Rex two or three times and we love it every time. The appetizer plate as an entree is my favorite! Yes, it is a ton of food and I can't eat it all but I have John to fall back on as my back-up eater.

I vote for T-Rex. We have a Planet Hollywood here I went once that was enough. Maybe the one at DTD is better? I just like the atmosphere at T-Rex especially with a little boy.

No flaming here:hippie:

I'm thinking we'll choose T-Rex. For some reason, Planet Hollywood seems more crowded-in than T-Rex.

BAHAhahaha!:rotfl2: I almost started something on a different thread the other day, but I wasn't protected, so I kept it to myself. That suit maybe just the ticket!:rotfl:

You did notice that the fire suit was made especially for women, didn't you? Just look at the cute little slit on the side and stylish gloves. You really need to get one. ;)

No double booking for us this time, since the system won't let us :lmao: We did have to change some around and I just hope that we got the ones cancelled that needed to be. I really don't want to pay 90 clams for a dinner I'm not eating  I've never ate at either restaurant in FL, but did do PH in Hawaii once. Couldn't tell you what we ate or if was good, I just remember they had Gwen Stefani's outfit there ;)

Hi Lisa, I finally made my way over here from my PTR (about 3 months too late) sorry!!!

First of let me say your family looks like so much fun! It's amazing what you all have been through and yet you seem so positive. I've enjoyed your PTR so far. You are so funny and very entertaining.

I know you think the drive to disney is long and boring but I love the idea. That maybe because I don't drive and really would like to drive down to Disney.

You ADR HOG you :scared1: , how could you? There are starving children at Disney who won't eat because you have 2 ADRs!! Shame, shame, shame on you...................:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

That is what you would get on some threads around here!! But not here!!! I have had 2 ADRs for the same day before because we were not sure where we would eat, but as soon as we made the decision I would cancel the one we weren't using. If there were huge lines forming outside the restaurants then I might feel a little twinge of guilt, but that just isn't the case at most of the restaurants. In fact, I haven't had a problem booking any ADR for our trip and I have been very specific with times.

Two ADRs?! I have to admit that I've been guilty of that myself on more than one occasion...:teeth: We like both restaurants so I'm not that big of a help. Although the lure of the meteor bites at T-Rex is pretty strong.

Hi Lisa, I'm a little late. Your 15 hour drive sounds so much longer than my 12-13 hour drive!! :rotfl:

Your plans so far sound great. We've never eaten at PH or T-Rex. They both sound good. I would like to try T-Rex, but I don't know how my girls will like it.

Welcome! Isn't it amazing how much longer 2 or 3 hours makes a trip sound. :rotfl:

I'm thinking that we'll end up at T-Rex.

When I cancelled the reservations for 4 people, I definitely saved those cancellation verifications. I'm like you...I don't want to pay for a meal that I didn't even go to.

I vote for T-Rex!!!!

I'm pretty sure that's where we'll end up.

Welcome! I am sooooo behiind on all my subscribed threads too so no worries.

We are a pretty fun lovin' family and really do enjoy our time together...especially on vacations.

For the most part, the drive to Disney isn't that bad but there are quite a few really boring sections that seem soooo long.

You ADR HOG you :scared1: , how could you? There are starving children at Disney who won't eat because you have 2 ADRs!! Shame, shame, shame on you...................:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Color me shameful for having two ADRs! :rotfl2: Some of the folks over on the other threads get down and dirty with their ADR arguments don't they?! I'll definitely cancel the ADR that we decide not to go to so that all those starving Disney children can eat. ;)

Yeah, the lure of that T-Rex appetizer plate is pretty strong too!

I hope that all you guys and gals had a blessed Easter!

My goal today is to write installments for both my trip report and my pre-trip report. If all of the clients who are on the calendar show up, then I shouldn't have a problem meeting that goal. I'll be baaaaaack!

We're going on a boat and it ain't grandpa's fishing boat, it's a great big boat!

First off, let me start this post by saying that this day (not this day...but the day on vacation) is Hunter's 15th birthday! What better way to celebrate turning 15 than a trip to Walt Disney World and going to the Bahamas? Hum...I can't seem to think of a better way.

Several weeks ago, I did online check-in for our cruise on the Disney Dream! I was ten days late in doing so and, as a result of my ignorance, the first time slot available was the 11:30 to Noon slot. Hey, this is our first cruise so cut me some slack. I don't know nothin' about cruises but ask me about how to file a divorce, get a protective order, sue the pants off your ex because they ain't giving you child support on time and I can steer you down the right path. :thumbsup2 Ask me about a cruise and I'm gonna give you one of these :

images

At first, I was disappointed that I didn't get the first time slot but then realized that was probably a good thing because it'll give us some time to get up and moving, grab a bite to eat in the food court:

restaurants-bars-disney-port-orleans-resort-riverside-v647288-800.jpg

And, possibly, have time to take a few pictures of the resort grounds:

Oh who the heck do I think I'm kidding? Those of you who know me know that there's no way I'm going to leave someplace/anyplace without taking tons of pictures. I'm a picture taking fool! Okay, so maybe I'm just a fool but I do like to take pictures. :lmao:

Years ago, we made the drive over to Cocoa Beach and the Space Center and I thought that I remembered the drive being about an hour and a half. However, knowing my memory as I do, I figured I better get my behind over to MapQuest for directions, mileage, driving time, etc. Well, guess what? My memory isn't as bad as I thought it was. The estimated drive time ranges from 1 hour and 11 minutes to 1 hour and 41 minutes depending on the route you take.

I'm hoping to be on the road and on our way to Port Canaveral by around 10:00 a.m. which means, Mr. John Drags His Butt Getting Ready In The Morning, will have us on the road by 10:15 or 10:30. Yes, I know I called him Mr. Stuck In the Rut More Than The Rest Of Us before but he has many caps and holds many titles with one of them being Mr. Drags His Butt. :rotfl:

Hopefully, the drive over to the Port will be smooth sailing. Smooth sailing....I crack myself up. :rotfl2: Anywhoooo, our town is pretty small with our tallest building being the hospital and it's only six stories tall. Well, actually it's seven stories tall. I forgot about the top floor where the looney bin is. You can imagine that we're not used to driving in the bright lights and big city so I did a little research and found a video that someone took which shows just how easy it is to find your way around the Port and to Cruise Terminal 8. In the video, it shows the vehicle driving down the road and there's actually the word DISNEY painted on the road. Now that's a sign I can follow. :thumbsup2

Since we're driving (duh...that's all you've been talking about for this entire pre-trip report, Lisa), we'll have to park our vehicle in the Port parking lot and then fork over a hefty $60 smackaroos to get the darn thing outta the parking lot. Oh well, I checked into the cost of Disney shuttling us over to the Port and it was over $100 a person. No thanks, Mickey, I'll drive myself.

I am sure that by this time, I'm going to be about to pee my pants. Why? Why 'cause I ain't never been on no great big boat! The only kinda boats we've ever been on looked a little something like this:

images

Wait a minute! Stop the presses! I forgot, the biggest boat we've been on was this one:

launch.jpg

No! No! That's not the one either. I do believe it was this one:

So, as you can all well imagine, we are going to look like country come to town as we stand there, mouth agape, looking at this baby:

images

No siree! That there boat ain't nothing like grandpa's boat. That looks just like a Dream to me!

**Up next: The Disney Dream gives a warm welcome to the Redneck family! Oops, I mean, the McBride Family!

Okay, you had me :rotfl2: at your boat descriptions. But I completely understand what you mean. I remember the first time I saw a cruise ship up close, all I could think to say was, "It's so big!!!" I think you guys are going to love seeing the Dream up close and in person.:thumbsup2

Just a heads up with the check-in time. I had that same mistake when I did on-line check-in and got a time of 12:30.:scared1: But we caught a ride with some family who dropped us off wayyy earlier than that (I think it was around 10:30) and when we checked in they gave us a card that said we were in Boarding group 19. And if my memory serves me correctly, we were being called to board around 11:45. Long story short, if you arrive at the port earlier, you might be able to board before your scheduled check-in time. (Of course, this was only experience with cruising so I can't say for sure if this is a common situation or not.)

Lisa, I am so excited for you and your Disney cruise. I am just falling over myself excited about our Alaska cruise in May, even if it isn't Disney. There is just so much to research about cruises! Have you been to the Cruise Critic boards? They are a companion to TripAdvisor and operate very much like Disboards. They have a section just for Disney cruises, so I know you will learn a lot there, if you haven't already been. Here is the link. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php

Just found your PTR and after 15 pages of catching up...whew :faint:, I'm in!:thumbsup2

I have followed a few of your PTR's and TR's before, but they move so quickly that sometimes there's too many pages to catch up on and sorry, I've given up.:guilty: With 3 crazy kids screaming around me all day, every day, I don't always have a lot of quiet Disboard reading time.:headache:

Your posts and pics are fantastic, especially your Dinosaur pic. That is priceless.:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

I can certainly understand your Disney obsession. I always want to be planning a trip. We are also taking our first Disney cruise this summer, so we don't have a WDW trip on the horizon and it's killing me. I guess that's why I've subscribed to so many PTR's lately, to live vicariously through you!

You should be ashamed of yourself for the 2 ADR's. I have never done that ever :rolleyes1 and certainly believe you should be immediately delivered to the fiery depths of WDW hell.;)

I am sure you will love POR; the boat to DTD is wonderful.

Looking forward to reading more.:goodvibes

:rotfl2: Lisa, you crack me up! I feel like "Country come to Town" when we hit Milwaukee.

I'm surprised Disney doesn't have a shuttle to and from WDW for cruises that is free.:confused3 Spending all that money and no ride!

Spending your Birthday at Disney, is the best way!:thumbsup2

Oh, Lisa, you had me cracking up over your descriptions of all the boats!

What a great way for Hunter to get to celebrate his 15th birthday! We've never done the Disney cruise, so you'll need to take lots of pictures, please! ;)

HAHAHA!!! You can take the McBrides out of the country… but I KNOW you can't take the country out of the McBrides!! :rotfl: I'm sure this is gonna be a wonderful trip! Too bad we can't get a film crew to follow ya'll around! That would be an awesome reality tv show! :lmao:
