I think when we did it we went to the waterpark that day and then went to the xmas party at night. Not sure though, I'm wondering if you have to use your pass to get in plus the ticket - I don't think so but I'm really not sure now. I thought it wasn't such a great deal to use a day on your passes (if you go somewhere else during the day) and then spend an extra $40 for a few hours. I believe they did let us in at 4pm though so we felt like we got a little extra! We went on all the good rides a few times but some lines were just as long as during the day. I will say the fireworks were unbelieveable.
Well, its one of my favorite things at WDW. I've gone 3 times now and I'm going again on my 40th birthday!
It's amazing to see MK at night all decorated with the holiday music. The parade alone is worth the price of admission. The fireworks are Wishes with a special twist.
There are special Christmas shows too. There's also snow falling down on Main Street.
You get a free photo and free hot chocolate and cookies.
You can find characters about with their holiday garb on.
I think it's well worth it.
They have been letting party goers in after 4:00p with just their party tickets so that's 8 hours you are getting with your party ticket. Many people just relax that day and do not use a park pass that day.
Does anyone know if you are limited to the snacks they give out? My kids LOVE hot chocolate and didnt know if they could get more than one during the evening. How do they keep track of that if they do. THanks. We are very excited about this. Our first MVMCP!!!!!

I got engaged during MVMCP, so I'm a bit bias. Honestly though, it was worth it IMO. The cookies and hot chocolate is a wonderful touch, it snows on Main street, they do special fireworks and a repeat of the parade, and the crowds aren't bad. I adored it and better have enough Reward Dollars from my Disney Visa to do it again!!!!
I think it's worth it and I didn't even wait in line for the hot chocolate and cookies! I was sick that night but I did really enjoy the party and plan on going again in a year or two so I can experience it again hopefully feeling much better that time.

We aren't going to use a day's ticket for the day we're going to MVMCP, so if they let you in with a party ticket after 4:00, instead of 7:00, when the party starts, I would love that!!
Does anyone know if the tickets sell out? I have not purchased our tickets for 12/20. That is the only day available as we arrive 12/19. I am hoping to have enough to purchase them by the end of the week.
I would like to know too - if it sells out? we are going to MK during the day of MVMCP, but we don't know if we are going to go yet. Plus I don't know how well my 3 yr old will do - she never wants to take a nap.. I would hate to pay all that money and her get grumpy and have to leave.
