We are going on our first trip Nov 30th to Dec 5th...We are very psyched to be going to WDW and to see all the holiday decorations.
Can anyone give me more details on the MVMCP? Is it worth it for a 3.5 year old & 6mos old? Is there anything spectaular that we won't see during regular hours? I've read about it but I'm still on the fence about spending the extra $$$ for tickets.

TIA,
Robin

If it is anything like Mickey's not so scary halloween party it is well worth the extra money. My DH and I are cruising the Wonder in Dec. and I begged (maybe suggested is a better word) for an extra day in Florida so we could do MVMCP. We're going and I can't wait! :cloud9: What a guy!

Everyone says it is... and I bought tickets. My kids are 3 and almost 6 though. I am concerned we won't get our moneys worth as it doesnt' start till 7pm!!! but since I may never get there again right at Christmas, I don't want to miss it. For a 3.5 and 6 month old, unless they will sleep easy in the stroller and not giv eyou any fuss when you get back to the room, it may not be worth the cost(about 43 per adult, and you would need a childs ticket for your 3.5 yr old.. i forget how much that was??)

This is such a NEAT event! We went in 2001 (taking our 5 and 8yr old niece and nephew) and will be taking our 2.5 and 1yr old to it this year. The parade during MVMCP can only be seen during the party and then it becomes the main daily parade (I think) sometime closer to Christmas day.

It "snows" on Main Street (it's actually a foamy substance made to look like snow) but it's still really neat. Plus, I think the shows are unique to the party as well. You'll also get a free group photo and free cookies and hot chocolate throughout the night at various locations.

Please see these links for more info:

Good luck with deciding.

We really enjoyed the party, but when my son was your children's age, there was no way he would have stayed awake for all the activities. We rode almost nothing, but spent our time watching shows and seeing the parade. Character were everywhere and the fireworks were amazing! If they will stay awake or even sleep in the stroller, it might be worth a shot. We also enjoyed the Candle light possesional, and resort hopping to check out all the decorations. Don't miss getting the kids picture made at epcot with Santa!

I think it's a toss-up. We brought our neice and nephew back in 2000 and absolutely LOVED it. One of the major selling points for us was the "limited admission" and we found this to be accurately advertised at the time - we hardly waited in a line at all. However, when we brought 2yo ds this past December (the first week of the month), we found it to be EXTREMELY crowded - no lines under 30 minutes (no fastpasses are distributed).

I found that most of the shows were available during regular park hours. The only thing really unique to MVMCP was the parade, which is amazing. In discussing it afterward, my husband and I felt that this is what we had payed for and were kind of unsure as to whether it was worth it. Hope this helps. Have a great trip - there's nothing better than Disney at Christmas time!

When we go to MNSSHP, we have our kids (and DHs) take afternoon naps. Then my DH makes dinner res for LTT or CP sometime between 4-5 p.m. This gets you into the park early. ::yes:: This way we are in the MK and able to do a few rides before 7 and also before it is all dark so we can enjoy the decorations and take some great photos.
