I think it is worth it at least once.

However, if the weather is cold, and damp then it is the most miserable event ever.

I would not recommend buying tickets in advance.

Ok heres the lowdown from a vet of both parties.

MNSSHP is wonderful if your a Halloween person. Much better than MVMCP . That being said , MVMCP is a delight for those wanting to kick start the holidays . Snowing on Main st is one of those life moments you will never forget.

Both parties are not what that used to be in regards to lines/crowds. While many times the lines will be shorted, especially at the end and beginning of he party, Main will be packed as will Character greets.

Cookies n hot coco or trick or treating is cool , but hardly worth the prices alone. The reason to go is the atmosphere.

You cannot be seated at an ADR after 7:00 if you are not a party ticket holder.

You can get you ticket band up to two hours before the start of the party , this way you do not have to fight the crowds exiting at closing.

If you just want to see snow , you can go to the back of the park on SPlM SPM or PP, and just wait till they usher you out. Then you will catch the snot on the way out while crushed in the entering and leaving crowds...

All in all both parties are , at least a once in a lifetime must do for everyone!

We just went to MNSSHP and we much preferred the Christmas Party last year to the Halloween one. However $400 is a small fortune and because you would see all the decorations anyway I would just go to the park on a normal day and enjoy the decorations. To us that was what made it so magical, but we also loved the free cookies and hot cocoa!!!! But that is not really worth $400. Just going around to the different resorts and seeing the Christmas decorations was incredible (and free). It is just a great time to be there.

Wondering same thing! My 6 year old and I are going 11/11-11/17. Debating whether or not we should go.

I went with my DD7 last year, it was awesome and we had so much fun. I think its definitely worth it if its just 2 of you and you are on the same page about how to spend your time. We did tons of rides, ate cookies and hot cocoa, met some characters. It was just beautiful with all the decorations and so festive.

We have done both MNSSHP (three times) and MVMCP (twice). The first time we did either party, it was because we had heard about them and wanted to go to the party! The following trips, we used the parties as a substitution for our Magic Kingdom day, as we were at WDW for long weekends rather than a week-long (or more) vacation. The hard-ticket event gave us 8 hours in MK at night, and allowed us to buy 3 day park passes to see AK, Epcot, and DHS. 3 day passes were about $25 cheaper (not now, but then) so we looked at this as offsetting the cost of the party by $25.

We are evening people so staying in the park until midnight (or after... takes awhile to walk out!) was a bonus for us. When we went to the parties they took free, holiday-themed photos of your group, so we have some nice memories of these parties- but Disney doesn't do this anymore. Also, Disney USED to cap party attendance; I want to say that capacity was 10,000 attendees, which is NOTHING in MK. I am not sure they do this anymore. I have to say, having a guaranteed small crowd in the MK made substituting the party for a "regular" MK day worth the ticket price, and it was easy to see the parade, the fireworks, and get on ALL the rides with minimal wait time. Trick or treating at Disney, seeing snow on Main St., and having hot chocolate and cookies are all fun, but don't justify the price for us.

SO... for us, being able to substitute a party for a park day, and a guaranteed small crowd, made these hard-ticket events worth the extra cost for us. (I should add that "we" usually means me and DD, although DH went to one halloween party, and DH and MIL accompanied us to one Christmas party.) HOWEVER... if you cannot be guaranteed small crowds and your kids cannot stay awake and active for the entire party, $400 is a LOT to spend. You could take everyone to see Cirque for this, or go to SeaWorld on a weekday (special right now is $50 so you'd save $100), or have a very nice dinner at a signature restaurant. Only you can decide what is best for your family, but MK will be decked out for the holidays, as will all of WDW, whether you attend MVMCP or not!

I'm contemplating this as well. I'm there from Nov 17-23 and have an AP. I've been to MNSSHP and had a blast, but didn't really come out thinking I got my money's worth.

I will say that Xmas is my favorite time of year and I think it would be more special for me to see the snow...I was at DLand Paris a few years back in Dec and it snowed around 4 inches. I've never seen anything like it....walking up Main Street with the decorations and REAL SNOW falling!

Thanks for all of the feedback so far everyone. I was wondering what is different exactly from being at the park on a none MVMCP day then on a MVMCP day, besides the few extra things for kids and a few extra fireworks, the snow on main street and the cookies and cocoa? Are the characters not in Christmas costumes everyday around Christmas or only on party days.

Just from your posts, it doesn't sound like it's for you. LOL If what you've listed doesn't interest you, then no, there is nothing else.

MNSSHP might be better because the kids get to trick or treat, which is always fun.

I've only been to the Halloween Party not the Christmas one, but even though we are going this time when the Christmas Party is offered we aren't going to it. We are a family of 5 and it just isn't worth the money to me. We aren't the types to stand in a long line just to see the characters in different costumes (as cute as they are). The fireworks for the Halloween Party were better than normal Wishes, but not enough to justify the price. The parade was cool, but not enough to tempt me to spend the money again. While I'm sure we would enjoy the party, if we couldn't stay to the very end it would feel like a waste of money and we really don't want to run ourselves ragged on this trip. We figured we could catch Holiday Wishes from across the lake and see the snow at the Osborne Lights.

I've been having the debate of whether to do it or not too! There are 4 of us. We are taking the kids out of school for this trip, and I do not know if we will ever be back during the Holidays, so I am leaning towards paying the price and going to the party. I am afraid if I don't, I will regret it!

There is another advantage for us. I don't like to spend the money on park hoppers but this one day we can actually in a way park hop. That plus all of the Christmas cheer is what lured me. We've never been so I hope that I made a good decision!

It would be a tough call with that many people though.

IMHO, not worth the extra money at all. I had been to Disney several times around Christmas and had always wanted to do the party.

Last year I traveled with friends, and they were doing the party so I joined them. I was absolutely astounded at how crowded the park was, and we were unable to get anywhere near some of the special holiday shows. We were 5 people deep at the parade, and some of the special character meet and greets had hour long waits.

I will say this, the lines at the rides were pretty short, but not worth the ticket price.

If you go in nov. or early dec. it is worth it BUT if you have days after the last party days then it's not worth it. unlike the Halloween party where EVERYTHING is exclusive to the party the opposite is true for the xmas party. starting on the day after the last xmas party and continuing until nye the following happens:
The xmas party parade replaces the reg. parade and is twice in the afternoon
holiday wishes replaces regular wishes and is shown every night
there snow fall on main street everynight
and the castle stage xmas party show and the tomorrowland xmas party show are shown multiple days during the day.

My Wife and I went last year. We loved everything about it!

Honestly, It was worth the $$$. They do make everyone leave the park first before they re-open to MVMCP.

Get there right when it opens so you can get back on SM, SpM, and TM. (as they are fun to ride in the dark and also very short wait lines). They also have special activities for kids (dance parties with the characters)

The parade is really very nice and they shoot stuff into the air to make it feel like it is snowing.

They provide free Hot Chocolate and Cookies throughout the park.

Does THIS seem worth $400?
yes, it's a nice experience. $400 for your family? Only you know your budget and what you're comfortable with.

Either. But I would go earlier in the day or another day. Once the party starts you can still finish your meal but you'll be escorted out unless you have the ticket.

Yes and yes, the dwarves are usually at Splmt.

It snows for free at HS every night during Osborne lights and after the parties end in Dec, it also snows for free on Main St.

Okay someone help me out. Is it worth the price to go to this? From what I read there doesn't seem to be all that much to make up for the additional price (would be almost $400 US for us b/c we have 6 ppl in our family). What do you guys think? Is it a must do, or would Magic Kingdom during November just be as magical seeing all of the Christmas decorations and things???

If you don't to go to Disney World often, I would say go to the xmas party! A Disney Christmas is very magical
