Hi everyone!!!!
We are thinking about going to MVMCP and I was wondering if anyone has gone and what it is like. Thnx for any help!!!!!

I really enjoy going to MVMCP, and think that is well worth the extra cost. Here is a link from Deb Will's site that gives you some information.
http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/hol_mk.htm

Generally I've gone on a week night, but this year I am going on a Friday and I am hoping that it will not be too busy. But I've gotten there by 7:00 and stayed until just after the second parade and alway have been able to see the parade, see all the shows I want as well as ride the attractions that are open.

Its totally worth your money, but dont be late. There are special shows, a special parade, even special fireworks! The rides really clear out after the first two hours, I saw all the shows first and then walked on to all the rides. We rode Buzz like 5 times in a row with no wait! Also, you get a free family photo and theres free hot chocolate!

do you get to see a lot of characters with Christmas outfits.. and where exactly do they meet at.. like toon town etc???

MVMCP is great! MK will not be crowded at all and most rides you can walk on or have very short wait times. We didn't really do any of the special party stuff, but just had an uncrowded evening at MK. The snow on Main Street is pretty cool too.

When we went last Christmas, I was very half and half if it would be worth the price. I have to say that it made our WHOLE trip!! It makes it feel soo much like Christmas! The best parts that everyone in our family enjoyed were the parade(GREAT), the FREE cookies and hot cocoa(YUM), and the snow falling on main street (even though we are vry used to the real stuff;)

It is soo worth every penny and I would not ever go again at Chrsitmas without attending. Since it does not start till the evening, we rested at the resort most of the day so the kids were able to enjoy the entire evening! I would also say, DON'T be late!

This event sounds great! We will be there after Thanksgiving. Please forgive my ignornace, but do you first pay the regular admission price and then you have a separate ticket for MVMCP? I am a bit confused. Can someone please clarify this for me? I want to plan and get the appropriate tickets before they run out! TIA. :mickeyjum

We'll be there after Thanksgiving as well for first time, the tickets are extra and I purchased them online, already got them and showed to my son, he is very excited.

Yes, the party is extra. It is held after the park closes so you must buy party tickets to enter.

The tickets can be purchased online or over the phone or once you are at WDW.

It is a separate ticket. The park will close down that day ( early evening ). People who have tickets to MVMCP will be given a wrist band to show they can stay. Alot of people make dinner plans right in the park. When we went we ate dinner at the Whispering Pines( over at the WL), then took the boat over to MK. We didn't go till 8:15, this worked out for us ( cause it goes till midnight) . Alot of people who childrens were getting sleepy were heading out around 9 ish, so it was not crowded at all. They do the parade and fireworks a few times that night. My family had taken a nap that afternoon, so our 3yr old princess: made it until about 10:30, then fell asleep in carriage, the boys( 9&6pirate: :3dglasses )made it until closing. It was a GREAT time, if we were going that time of year again, would do MVMCP in a heartbeat!! :wave2: Hope this helps!

I just can't decide if we should do this in December or not. It's SO expensive. We did the Halloween Party last year and really enjoyed it, but I was surprised at how crowded it was (this was a weeknight, weeks before Halloween) after everyone on these boards said it was practically empty. I'm concerned that we'll encounter the same thing here.

Plus, one of the big things we liked about the Halloween party was the trick or treating. The parade and fireworks were okay, but not that different from what you normally see.

I'm curious if there is anyone out there who's done both - can you compare them? Did you like one more than the other? Would you do both again?

I've been to both and love both. I usually alternate each year which I do but got to do BOTH last year! :cool1:

Anyway, I love them both. At MNSSHP we love the parade (especially the Headless Horseman and the Villians) and the special Hallowishes fireworks. We love trick or treat. We enjoy finding some characters dressed in costumes.

Yes, it can seem busy/crowded in certain parts of the park especially on Main Street and Fantasyland but other areas can be dead. It just depends on where you hang out.

For MVMCP again, we LOVE the parade and special Holidaywishes fireworks. The parade is one of my favorites. There are also Christmas shows. Twas the Night before Christmas in Tomorrowland and the Castle show. They are both great holiday fun. There are characters in their holiday best. Love the snow on Main Street and the lights and music. It's just magical.

This can also appear to be crowded, especially on Main Street, but if you go in with priorities and a game plan you should do fine.

I say go for it at least once and decide for yourself.

Thanks so much, beattyfamily. This is our first time ever in December, and with my kids getting older, I'll be less likely to take them out of school in the future, so who knows when we'll be back at that time of year. We probably should go at least once just to see for ourself, it's just the thought of the tickets for 6 people is a little overwhelming.

But you're right, I'll never know unless I go!! (hey, a rhyme without trying...)

The neat thing about these parties is that you can get into the park at 4:00 even though they don't "start" until 7:00....thus a full 8 hours in the park if desired.

Our kids made it all the way to midnight last year (DD6,DS5, DD4) since we napped at the resort from 1:00 - 3:00

Do you need to use a day's admission (say if we had a 7 day park hopper) to get into the park before the parade. I'm asking this because when we're planning on going, my son will be 5 and I was thinking of NOT going to the parks that day and sticking around the hotel (onsite) so he can rest and be able to stay til the end of the parade/fireworks, etc. I realize that this is an extra ticket that you have to buy, but I was wondering if you could just use the ticket and not a full day of your park hopper.

Thanks for the input.

As long as you enter after 4:00p, you'll be all set with just your party tickets.

Can you keep your rental stroller for the party until midnight? Or, do you have to pay any extra fee? Our DS will be 4 and we are not planning on bringing our own this year to make things a little easier, but will definitely want to rent one since he may not make it until midnight. :cloud9:

Yes, you can keep it, no problem.

Also the rental strollers have been free to party goers (after 4:00p) for the past couple of years too!!! So if you enter MK after 4:00p you should be able to get a stroller for free when you show them your wristband.
