Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party - Lets Talk Characters!

So how old is too for the MVMCP? I mean, of course as adults we love it for the kids, but we are taking kids 10-18. I'm a little worried it may be a waste of $ for the older ones. Also the only day offered during our trip is on the day we arrive, which would be cutting it very close to the 7pm start. Are you doomed if you arrive around 8 or so?

Are your kids still into Christmas/Disney? If so please spare no expense, this party will be excellent, and Christmas is usually the BEST times I remember with my family as a kid.

I wonder if Jack Skellington will be dressed in his Santa suit? That would be cool. I got a pic with him and Sally last year at the MNSSHP. They are great with the interaction! It would be fun to also get him in Christmas wear.
i hope they aren't that close. My little ones will likely be scared of him! Actually the verdict is out on Santa too. 2 and 4 years!

Need some advice from you MCMCP veterans! Trying to decide between 2 party dates - one that is predicted to be the 13th most crowded but fits into our schedule perfectly, or the 2nd least crowded but does not work so well with our plans.

We attended 2 sold-out MNSSHP earlier this year, and did not find the waits for rides, characters, trick-or-treating or food to be bad at all. However, the crowds around Main St. for the 1st parade and fireworks were oppressive.

So here's my question....regardless of party attendance, I'm assuming we should still expect to find heavy crowds in this area? If there will be no real noticeable difference from that perspective, then I intend to pick the date that works best for us. Neither date we are considering sold out last year, so that will at least limit the crowd somewhat, but anything we can do to make the parade/firework situation better I interested in!

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/advice/experiences!

Which 2 nights are you looking at? If you are looking at the crowd predictions on Touring Plans, I honestly have never been impressed with that. I'd probably just pick the night that works best for you unless one is a Friday or near Veteran's Day.

Confirmed by the DisneyParkBlog that jack will be present in his Santa costume at Storybook Circus.

I AM SO EXCITED!

I was looking at touring plans' ranking of the parties, but just compared their list with Kenny the Pirate's. Fairly similar with the exception of one of the nights I am looking at (of course!). Where TP has it at 2nd best, KTP has it at #15. Biiiiiiiiig difference! I'm looking at a Sunday and a Tuesday, so hoping either one is a better choice than a Thursday or Friday :)

Anything that isn't a Friday is really a toss up. On the non-Friday nights, once you rule out the first party and the last few parties, and any near a Federal holiday......one factor remains..... the presence or absence of discounts (AP, CM, DVC, etc.)

Honestly though, I'd just pick the one that best fits your touring plan.

Jack & Sally were an AMAZING M&G at MNSSHP!!! Though this sounds like just Jack, no Sally?

I think it depends on your kids' personalities and interests.

We are going to our first party this year (our oldest is a HS junior, other two are 10 and 8). They are all super excited, but the oldest especially so. I lived in Central FL and had season passes when I was a kid, so I have lots of nostalgia about Christmas at Disney-- the music, the decorations, the smells-- and am looking forward to sharing that with my kids. :goodvibes

That said, we are going for a long weekend and only going to the party, resorts, DTD. If it were our normal 10+ day trip with visits to all the parks, I honestly think we would get enough of the "Christmas" experience everywhere else and would not opt to spend the extra money to attend the party.

It would appear its just Jack no Sally mention. Then again, Sally didnt really have a Christmas outfit.

Does anyone know if Perrywinkle will be with Tink in Town Hall? I know that's kind of a long shot I searched and found nothing. Also will the line for Santa Goofy be crazy as well?

DS has special needs and this is really who he wants to see but can't do a super long wait. I appreciate any info

I'm actually excited Christmas Jack is there he will take the lines away from some characters now :D

I read an article from Disney this morning that he will be in his Christmas outfit.

If you really want to see Santa Goofy with a bit of a shorter line, he also wears his Santa suit in December at AK. He meets with Pluto in Dinoland.
