Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party~~December 2nd

Erikthewise:

I would keep the 5:05 JMHO. The sooner you are finished with dinner - the sooner you will be able to go out and enjoy the festivities. They are lined up early for picture taking. I think the pictures start @ 6:00.

We plan to go on 12/2 also. I didn't book LTT--is it good? I am going with a 4 yr old so I want to make sure she eats it. I also am concerned about it being crowded that night. I haven't bought the tickets because I am concerned that it will be crowded and not worth the $100. Hope to see everyone there if I can talk my DH into going. I am still trying to convince him.

Hi

Welcome to the board. When you are referring to it being crowded - do you mean MVMCP? or the LTT?

We went last year on the first Tuesday and it was not crowded AT ALL. As a matter of fact, my husband decided that night to do it again this year! My son was 5 at the time, just turned 5 and he did awesome! By the time we got back to our room, it was 1:00am and he was up and ready to go the next morning! Definitely worth the $$. Snow on Main St. Only at WDW.

As far asLTT goes, I have a reservation there, but I have never eaten there. People on many of the boards that I frequent love it. So, what the heck. The characters are dressed in colonial attire. There is Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck and Meeko.

I cant wait!

I meant the party being crowded. I was going to get reservations at Artist Pointe at WL and then go over but maybe LT would be a better bet if people like it. I am glad to hear your 5 yr old did well. People at work seem to think I am nuts bringing my daughter who will be 4 1/2. Thanks for the input.

Not crowded at all - as an example, we were able to get on every ride in Fantasyland without a wait at all. We stood in front of the castle - almost alone. No one in front or behind us watching the parade. It was amazing.

Try not to listen to what people say - 41/2 is just perfect for a trip like this. Magical is the only way to describe it.

I think Artist Point may be more of a formal type place to eat - no characters and very pricey. This way she will get to see lots of characters.

You know, last year they started letting people into the park as early as 4pm with their tickets. We didnt get there til 6pm though. Dinner @ the Wilderness Lodge may make you miss some of the festivities - you dont want to do that. Actually - you should make as early a PS for dinner as possible while you still can. Last year I was unable to do this and only the late seatings like 7 or 7:30 were available. Dont want to miss the party -thats for sure.

jonsmom57,

Thanks for the advice. I was going by last years MNSSHP. For that event everyone staying for the party was herded into Fantasyland during 6-7 PM so they could put up decorations in the other parts of MK. Apparently it's not like that for MVMCP?

Erikthewise:

Decorations for Christmas go up either on Thanksgiving or the day after. I am sure that the process begins sometime before that. The tree on Main St. is huge.

Last year before MVMCP we did some resort-hopping to check out decorations. My favorites were the Grand Floridian and Wilderness Lodge. The Grand Floridian's tree was grand. We were dwarfed by it. Also they have an enormous ginger bread house that is real. There is a sign outside of it telling you the ingredients. I remember 500 lbs. of chocolate. It also states how long it took to prepare and assemble. Amazing. Only @ WDW.

Just curious- what time do they make everyone else (that is not participating in MVMCP) leave the parks?

The reason I ask is before I buy the tickets and make dinner PS- I need to figure this out because ONLY me and my oldest daughter are going to do MVMCP. My husband isn't interested in staying up that late and would prefer to go do something else and then get in bed early with the two younger children.

Therefore, I'm trying to figure out what time we could eat there TOGETHER- then they leave and me/oldest daughter stay for MVMCP.
??
How would you work that? I don't want to make a PS for a time when THEY would be forced out of the park!

Like a few others, I'm still trying to understand this. So, if I'm already in the park and have a MVMCP ticket, I'll be allowed to stay and won't have to go out and come back in? Possibly herded to one area, but that seems better than going out and back in? Not that I care if I'm in the park already, but how and when would they collect my ticket? I see a lot of folks have dinner ressies inside the park, so that looks like another option for "staying put", so you'll be right there when things get started. Lastly, could someone address which attractions are and aren't open; I've seen nothing definitive yet. Thanks!

I recall one year, I think it was 2001, you went to certain locations, rather than leaving the park, and got a wrist band that identified you as a MVMCP ticket holder.

Just bought our tix for Dec. 2nd's party! We also got a PS at LTT for 6:05.

This is our first MVMCP, and we are SO excited!

Can't wait!!

Bought our's. No turning back now.

DisneyDarwin -

The only area I remember not being open was ToonTown. Pretty much everything else running full steam.

We didn't do a priority seating, and didn't realize you could get in early, but we showed up around 6:30 on a Tuesday, were in the park by 6:45 with no problem whatsoever, and headed straight back to Liberty Square and got our pictures taken. Maybe because it was on a Tuesday in early December, but the crowds were very light. Seems like we pretty much walked right through without even getting stopped in a line.

Our only problem in 2001 was that we were too hot to wear our Xmas sweaters and such. (OK, that's not really a problem - the weather was great - much warmer than we thought it would be)

We'll be there AND it's my Birthday!

If your gonna get old, you might as well do it at Disney!

Help...I need the phone number to call for tickets for 12-02-03.
This will be our first Winter visit...bumed about the Osborn Lights...that was the reason for the trip. Also, being kinda new...what is the LLT???for dinner? (I might have the wrong initials).... On the page for the MVMCP it says that the parade starts in the middle of December....I sure hope that is wrong...
Thanks for any help..... We are from Indiana and driving down for 10 days of Disney Fun....grandma and grandpa...no kids, grandkids, or friends...just the 2 of us.... We have booked the special Boat Fireworks at EPCOT sponsored for the big web-site folks gathering. Sure hope this Dec. 2nd date is not crowded. We will get tickets soon...hope it's not sold out already. Thanks.

Let me see if I can answer some of your questions:

LTT is the Liberty Tree Tavern. It is a character dinner with Mickey, Donald, Daisy dressed in colonial garb. You can check different menu sites for the dinner menu.

I would not worry about December 2nd being sold out. The weekends are more likely to be sold out. We went last year on the first Tuesday of the show and it was not crowded at all. I think that when they talk about the Christmas parade mid-December, maybe they have a daily Christmas parade instead of the snowglobe one, I don't know.

The phone number to call for tickets is 407-W-Disney.

I think they mean that as of mid-December, the Christmas parade will become the standard afternoon/evening parade daily at MK. As I understand it, all MVMCP events will have not one, but two Christmas parades!

Erikthewise:

Right......there are two parade times (same parade). One around 7:30 and another @10:30.

Hi! The Lemke family will be there December 2nd, too! We can't wait - it's our first Christmas trip!

I'll be watching for those green ribbons!

Jo

hi,
does it only snow on mainstreet during part of the evening, maybe just during the parade or beginning of the party? i think this will be so cool, and i would hate to be off doing something somewhere else and miss it:(
