Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Ok I tried to read through this whole thread and made it to page 32 and gave up. ;) This is our 1st MVMCP, we are going on 12/1 and trying to figure out where to eat. Are any of the counter services open? I love Cosmic Ray's. If not then we will try and get LTT ADRs but I figure the time that we want may not be available so maybe then the castle. We would like to be done eating by around 6:45 PM.

As a MVMCP-Veteran... I strongly encourage you to NOT eat during the actual party times. Why pay extra money to be in the MK and miss out on any of the rides, specials, cookies, etc.?... when the hours themselves are (typically) somewhat limited to 7:00 p.m -midnight (although you'll likely be allowed in well before the official opening time). Use that time to do what the name implies..P-A-R-R-T-Y! :-)

We have always gone for a late lunch around 3:00 p.m at LTT, but at that hour, you could choose to eat almost anywhere.

Consider it....

Have Fun!

We got ours in California fro Florida in 5 calendar days.

Pretty fast if you ask me.

I agree completely! I have been to MVMCP quite a few times and will be attending this year also. I have NEVER eaten during the party hours. You would miss out on the actual party. I agree that having a late lunch is the way to go. And then if you are hungry later, there are plenty of snack spots to grab a quite bite, plus the free cocoa and cookies!

Yay! I just bought my MVMCP ticket for 12/13th :cool1: I think I'll try to get the earliest LTT dinner reservation time on that day, which will set me up for a great evening :cloud9:

I guess I will ask this question again since we are onto a new page.

Many counter services are open during the party but only Cosmic Rays is open the hour the park is closed.

disney 4 5..... You can book ADRs for LTT NOW if you're going to MVMCP. You don't have to wait for the 90 day mark. But many of the good ADR times are already gone.

So, the day the tickets went on sale for MVMCP I bought them for Friday, Dec 16th. I knew Friday would be a little more crowded with locals, etc but this just worked best with our schedule. This would put us in the MK for my sisters birthday, etc. I have LTT ressies for 5:05 that night, which is perfect.

Now I'm hearing that it's not "a little more crowded", it's unbearable. This is my parents and sister's first (and maybe only b/c of financial difficulties, etc) trip to the World and we're treating them .... so I'm doing everything I can for months in advance to make it the most magical trip possible. Are we going to be miserable?!

I just reworked some stuff to see about switching our MGM day with our MK day, and changing MVMCP tix to Thursday (if that's even do-able). The only downsides would be doing MK first (I always avoid that, don't ask why... no idea :)) and being in MGM on Cassi's bday. I don't think she'd really mind, so I thought that may be our best option. However, LTT has NO openings that evening until after 6:50. It seems to me we'd experience less by eating in the middle of the evening than we would being there on a jam-packed night.

Please either Help(!) with your expert advice or just reassure me that we will be able to experience all the things MVMCP has to offer, even if we are fighting crowds. I think we'll have ridden everything that day that we need to, so we can really use the party to take in the special events. It's just a LOT of money for us broke young grad students if it's not going to be worth it, and we were looking forward to the Party more than anything about the trip! :confused3 :guilty:

Everything just seems to be falling into place! :goodvibes My best friend and I are going on a first ever MOMS (Moms On Magical Sabbatical) trip Dec. 7-11. We are going to MVMCP on 12/8,which also happens to be my 29th bday, with a great PS time for LTT! Then we got Le Cellier for the Candelight Processional on 12/7 with Jim Caveizel (thats right, Jesus). We got an awsome PS time and the 6:45 show, so we may be able to see the tree lighting and watch Illuminations. This is our first trip at Christmas time! We are so excited about experiencing WDW without kids OR husbands. (Sounds awful, but hey, a girl's gotta have some fun! :smooth: ) We plan on taking our time, eating, shopping, eating, going to Adventurer's Club, eating, shopping, etc. :teeth: To top it off we got an awesome airfare just this past Fri. $136 from Columbus,OH to MCO including taxes/charges. It must be dismit, I mean kismit! ;) We are open to any suggestions/tips those other Moms who have vistied sans family may have. :listen:

I had forgetten that I had read that. Thanks for the reminder. I was going to call this week to order tickets to MVMCP so I will call and make ADRs too. Thanks for the help.

I received my tickets today for the 12/18 party. On the enclosed letter it states that you must present your tickets to have your free photograph taken. Does anyone know if they keep your tickets or just look at them. My DD's like to keep their tickets for their scrapbook and I know they won't give them up for a picture??

Thanks,
Tammy

You show your ticket, they mark the back of it to show you've gotten your free photo and they give it back! I've got mine for every year!

Your idea of just using the party to take in the special events is great. If you read reviews on All Ears about last years MVMCP it is interesting how two people were there on the same night and had totally different experiences. Relax, go with the flow and have a wonderful, magical night. :flower:

Congrats on your MOMS trip! My best friend and I are doing the same thing in Dec. We have gone twice before without all the "luggage" and had a blast. Years ago, our families went together. This will be our first trip at Christmas and we are SOOO excited about seeing the MK decorated. We're going to the MVMCP on the 16th and then a 4 day WONDER cruise on the 18th. Yep, we're doing it up right this time! :cool1: I have cruised with Disney 3 other times but this will be her first and I am so excited for her, for both of us! :goodvibes Take time to do the things that maybe you didn't get a chance to do before when you had kids with you like eating somewhere different, ride the rides that you missed before and maybe check out Pleasure Island. I've never been (we're a couple of old ladies in our 40's :rotfl: ) but it sounds like alot of fun. Don't forget to shop 'til you drop! Nothing beats shopping without the husband and kids nagging you! :teeth: On our "free" day Sat. we're going to the outlet mall, the Marketplace mall, visit some of the other resorts and check out decorations and shops there. You will have a great time spending girl time together and relaxing before the stress of the Holidays! Have Fun! :)
