Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

I have two DSs. One will be 22 months and the other will just have turned 5 when we go to WDW in December (6-13). Their usual bed time is 7:30 or 8:00 pm. I'm concerned it will be too late for the kiddos.

Do you think my DSs would enjoy MVMCP? Does anyone have any stories about their toddlers and preschoolers at this party?

If we do go, what day do you recommend?

TIA

A.

One thing to remember is that when they are going to bed here, at 8:00pm, it's 9:00pm there. My DSs go to bed at 9:00, so I think they'll do okay if we stay until a little before 10, but with excitement and adrenaline going, maybe they'll be fine longer. Mine are 6 and 4 though, so with a little one, that might be harder.

Where in Texas are you? We are just outside of Houston. Going 12/4-12/14.

We are also going on Tuesday the 6th. :Pinkbounc
I believe the MK has PM extra hours on Wednesday the 7th. We are hoping this is true so that we can sleep in after the MVMCP, do our 11:30 ressie at Crystal Palace for lunch and then spend the rest of the day into the evening in the MK. If anyone knows for sure if it is X Hrs that night could you please post? I'll have to do a little erasing on our itinerary. Thanks.

According to the Disney website, you are correct. PM extra magic hours on Wednesday, 12/7. "Normal" park hours are 9-8 plus the EMH at night.

We're going 12/6 too!! :flower: That's a great question on the fireworks! I had been thinking we needed to be at MK on Sat night the 3rd to see Spectro and Wishes...but maybe we don't need to be if the weather forecast looks good for our MVMCP on the 6th. What do others think?????

You'll see Wishes at the party, but not spectro and that really is something to be experienced. We're doing the party the 4th but I'm trying to decide whether to pop in to see spectro on Sat (they're filming the christmas parade at MK that day so I wonder if it's going to be a zoo there in the evening) or wait until Monday night.

Thanks tzuhouse! I forgot about the time change. I bet the adrenaline could keep them up for a few extra hours.

I live in SW Houston.

Sure wish we were there on 12/4 for your Wishes cruise. Sounds like fun.

I agree, GO 'STROS!

Since you guys are going to MVMCP before I do, you will have to bring me back a map/times guide for the party. I am such a planner that I need to see it before I get there. I know, thats sad, but I cannot help it!

Do you know if they follow the Saturday schedule of DCT 3:00, Spectro 9:00 & 11:00 and Wishes at 10:00?
TIA

:earsgirl: We were there last year for the taping of the Christmas Parade w/ Regis and Kelly. It was elbow to elbow during the day. They had main street detoured and other celebrities filming segments throughout the park. Was kind cool to see Reg/Kelly but I would avoid MK if I was there again for filming day. We left mid-afternoon so I do not know what the pm would be like.

Thank you triplefigs.
Will probably do EPCOT that day.

We're doing MGM that day. When we were in Disney in 1995 for our honeymoon, they were filming the Easter parade. We did MGM that day too and there were small crowds (even with the National Cheerleading College Championship held by ESPN there).

2. I'm pretty sure past parade times are 8:15 and 10:45. If I'm wrong, beattyfamily will correct me. ;)
3. Anytime after 4:00 you can get in with just MVMCP tickets. Things are pretty slow at the entrance between 4:00 and 6:00 at least.
4. I bought tickets for Dec 6, so yes, I think Tuesday is a good day!

Thank you! :)

I just called the number I had for dining and they connected me to someone to purchase the MVMCP tickets. So, now we're all set! :) :)

We're going to do AK that morning. We'll get there at opening, stay for lunch, then leave to go back to our room for a nap. We'll have dinner at our resort, then head out to MVMCP.

Is there a list of what rides will be open? And does anyone know if all of the shops will be opened? I'm specifically interested in the candy shop on Main Street, and the christmas shop that's in Frontierland (I think that's where it is).

I was able to get this ressie for my birthday dinner on 12/11. Going to MVMCP that night. Can I be a few minutes late? Don't really want to use a day on my Park Hopper if I can get into party at 4:00PM. Help!!!

My 5 year old is usually ready for bed by 8:15, but has no problem lasting until midnight at the party. The excitement keeps her going. She just konks out in the car before we ever get out of the parking lot. If you can, I would suggest trying to get her a good nap in the afternoon so she'll be a happy camper. I would think your 22 month old might fall asleep in the stroller if you have one.

If anyone want the pin from 11/27 and is willing to trade for 12/4? Or if you want the 11/27 pin I'll trade for any night. I can only get 6 pins as we have 3 adults in our group. ::MinnieMo PM me if your interested.

Is there a limit to how many tickets are available for each night? My fiance and I want to go but are unsure if we are going on our planned trip or not.

Thanks

Being a guy I can't help with shopping

Maybe someone can point you to a list from previous years, but the truth is that just about everything is open, including all the popular ones. I think maybe Swiss Family Treehouse and Tom Sawyer's Island are not. The Riverboat is closed for rehab this year.

One time we wandered into Toontown and Goofy's Barnstormer was a walk-on! Our son rode twice in a row with no wait.

FINALLY BOOKED :cool1:

i now have to try and get ADRs and MVMCP tickets. based on my dates, which is a better night to go?

thursday 12/15, friday 12/16, or sunday 12/18? my first choice would have been friday but i heard that fridays were crowded and since it will be the last friday for the party, i'm not sure i should choose it. thursday is our first night there and sunday our last. which would you choose?
