Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

What is best, buy your tickets early or wait till you get down there? It look like they'll have a party the Thurs, Fri, & Sat. we'll be down there, I was thinking Saturday because we could sleep in Sunday, then head to the our Disney Cruise.

Depending on what day you decide to go, you run the risk of it being sold out.

There are NO parties on Saturdays. Only Sun, Tues, Thurs and Fri with an occational Wed. Never Saturdays.

We buy ours early when they go on sale. We've already decided on Thursday Dec. 15th to go to the party. It's easier to buy them ahead for us and not have to worry about it. We've already started planning our our PS for dinners too. We also don't plan anything for the day of the party. That way the kids have time to rest and stay up later. Of course in 03 when we went they both fell asleep waiting for the 2nd parade to start.

I just booked our X-mas trip and this is the first year we are going to try to go to MVMCP! I am so excited!

Now I just have to figure out when tickets go on sale!!!

Wow! It seems like we just came from MVMCP 2004! I am out of the loop, I just saw the 2005 dates today! woo hoo!
I'm too lazy to look through this entire post (at least I'm honest). Any word yet on when the tickets go on sale?

so if the park closes at 6pm and the party starts at 7pm.....when is a good time to make a LTT ressie? Does it need to be before 6pm or else you get corralled into tomorrowland?

Any PS between 5:00p and 6:00p should avoid your having to go to Tomorrowland.

Someone asked what to wear, why of course your Christmas sweater, holiday sweatshirt, etc. We have been the last two years and will be attending on December 1, 2005. My daughter (6) and I shop to find a special sweater just for the party. We spent 3 more days at the park (WDW) and wore our sweaters on those days too!

See you there! We will be going on 12/1 as well for our 4th wedding anniversary! It will be our 5th time going and we can't wait. We usually wear something that looks good in pictures! :)

I'm surprised they already have dates and tickets available. :) If I remember correctly, in previous years, they didn't go on sale until Fall. I'm already planning my December trip though, so it's great to have this out of the way early! :)

They dates are out early but that's only because someone at the DIS has connections! If you call Disney they will say they are not out yet. The tickets are NOT on sale yet. They went on sale May 1 last year which was the earliest thus far. We'll see when they go on sale this year!

Thanks! That sure saved me from looking silly and calling up for tickets like I planned to this week! LOL

Okay, I lied. I need a little more info if anyone knows. Do I have to be at the gate to come in at 7:00PM? We'll probably have dinner somewhere and then go. Or, here's another question...are the sit down restaurants open during MVMCP? Which one to choose?

You can enter as early as 4:00 pm aslong as you have your ticket for the mmvmcp. The sit down restraunts are open, but here is a tip. Exactly 90 days and make sure you know what the 90th day is, do a ps for LTT around 5:00 or so. LTT is probably one of the best character meals around (we still love chef Mickey's). Have a good time and if at all possible try and do 2 mmvmcp nights. One for the shows (watch out for that special wishes show) and another for the rides. Just remember, it will be hard to see everything.

Unless things have changed, you don't have to wait 90 days out for LTT for MVMCP. You can book it at the same time as buying your tickets on the phone. I might be shooting myself in the foot for posting that, but ehhhh, what they hey?

We get PS for Cinderella's Royal Banquet Hall for dinner before hand. It's a tradition and, though there are no characters, we've found it's a great way to start off the evening! :)

I think this will be our 5th MVMCP year! We always try to hit it more than one night each year, so we've actually been to more than 5 total. I absolutely love the parade, and the snow on Main Street USA. We will probably go on November 29 this year, and we book LTT at the same time as we order our tickets. We went without dinner reservations one time, and that is all it took to learn our lesson!

This December will be our first long trip to WDW and our first Christmas trip. I've thought about MVMCP but didn't know if it was worth the extra cost since DH likes to penny-pinch. Why do y'all go every year and what do you think are the best reasons for going? I'm sold but need some selling points for DH.

TIA!

What time do they hold the show on main street? If you go to the early show of Night Before Christmas would you miss it?

I think "corralled" makes it sound like a bad thing. Everything is open in Tomorrowland, they have a picture station open and also the first showing of "Twas the night before Christmas". We eat earlier so that we can get to Tomorrowland to do all those things before 7:00. Last year we were able to walk into Fantasyland about 6:45.

The parade is at 8:15 and 10:45. There's not really a "show" for the snow, it falls throughout the night.

Thanks for this comment. This will be our first MVMCP, and I assumed there would be things to do in Tomorrowland, but it's nice to hear it first hand.

I've never been, so I can't speak from experience, but I can tell you how my grown daughter and I decided to go for it this December for our group of four (including her fiancee and 14-year-old daughter). By our calculations, the admission price is less than one day at the park (even if you buy a multi-day pass), and we read on these boards that they've been letting MVMCP ticket holders in around 4pm. Since the party officially runs from 7pm till midnight, we figured that gives us approximately 8 hours in the park - with lots fewer people after 7pm, (since they limit the number of tickets sold to MVMCP), so we should be able to ride everything we want without waiting in long lines - in addition to all the "extra" stuff that goes along with MVMCP. Now the only thing we're worried about is whether the advance speculation is correct about a MVMCP night on December 20th. If there isn't one that night, we'll be out of luck, because our first day will be on the 19th.

We are planning on going down to WDW during the time of MVMCP and my Dh was thinking that is it a pain that the parks close at 6:00pm, do you find this limits your touring ability? I plan on going to the party 1 time, but how is the rest of the nights? is it hard to adjust your plans for the early closings?
TIA.

we are not planning on going until 2006, so this is an exciting thread to read!
