Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

Just back from trip - 80 on Sunday in FLA, 34 here w/ 4in of snow!!!

We did MVMCP Sunday, 12/4. We hadn't plan to go this year as it was just me, DH and DS10 (went to Gainesville for DS to play baseball) but DH decided when we got back into Orlando Sunday morning from Gainesville (we flew out of Orlando airport Monday morning) that we had nothing better to do so we went and had a great time.

We went last year so we knew what to expect, sort of..
I say sort of because there were a few changes that I probably would have know if I had read the Disboards about this years party but I didn't b/c I didn't think we would be going. First, they charged for parking this year, didn't last year. Second, CM were sending everyone to Liberty Square at 6pm instead of Tomorrowland. We missed the first Night Before Christmas show.

Rode Buzz 3 times with 10 min wait first time and went right back on next 2 times (think the long wait scared them off), got stuck on Splash Mountain for about 5 minutes (at least it wasn't IASM - I think I would have to make a swim for it if I had to listen to that song for that long) Also did BTMR, HM, IASM (DH's favorite), Mickey's Philharmagic, saw parade and fireworks.
We had chicken fingers at Cosmic Rays and desert at smoothy place by Stitch
Didn't get pic or cookies and cocoa (did all that last year)
Didn't stay as long as I would have liked, had an early flight out Monday morning but we did what we wanted and at least I got my Disney fix.

Exactly what is the Mickey Twas the night before Christmas?
Where is it located and is it a must see? I have an 8 year old
daughter and though we go to WDW every year this is our first
MVMCP. As a matter of fact we are going two night to the party.
She loves BTM and SM.

It's in Tomorrowland at the Galaxy theater.

It's the telling, sort of, of Twas the Night Before Christmas by Mickey with Minnie and other characters, singers and dancers and Goofy Santa etc... It's a fun show especially for kids. We enjoyed it. I enjoyed the Castle front show just as much, if not more though. So glad I fit them in this time.

No one is saying anything about the Lake Howell Holiday Brass. Did anyone see them?? I come from a very musical family so this one is on the top of my list seeing that I also enjoy the small brass groups I've seen around the parks!!!!!!

Great question...DH and DS are both very musical...play several instruments and sing between them...me? I play the radio...lol DS plays trombone and tuba so the brass performance is gonna be a must do for us...anyone got any comments? Would love to hear them!

There is no free pin, there never was...but there used to be a free button. They ended that last year. No button last year or this year unfortunately.

Thanks...guess I was reading old info, will just have to buy the pin instead!

Thank you you guys are great!!! About this Twas the night before christmas show...how long is it and how often during the MVMCP is it preforme??

I saw where the mvmcp is sold out on the 18th. I already have tickets but is it going to be very crowded I have DD3 and DD7.

Just got back last night. Went to Nov 29 party. Had a great time.

How busy was this party? I'm looking at the early dates for the party next year. I'm a big planner so I need to know! lol

YMMV, as it just depends on where you are in the park. You could think it was packed in one place, like Main Street, but think it was dead in Frontierland.

I didn't try to do very many rides but at 7:00p Fantasyland was dead...girls did Dumbo and the Merry Go Round by themselves.

We did Goofy Rollercoaster around 8:30p and it wasn't bad at all.

But it always seemed packed on Main Street, even for the second parade.

Have fun planning!!

We just got back too. We went on the 29th too, It wasn't too bad. We walked on to just about everything - including Dumbo!! We stayed till the last parade and it wasn't bad. We really didn't need to wait for the monorail- the wait went quick..so that should tell you - and we left after the kiss goodnight. I hope to go back at this time again!

If you have any specific questions feel free to ask!!

what is this???

The kiss goodnight is sort of like a goodbye from the castle. They make an announcement about it being the end of the night and the castle changes color and music plays. It's just a nice way to end the evening. I hope this makes sense..I feel like I have jet lag....and we drove!!

Pins were only available in the Main St store (Exhibit Hall I guess?) and in Frontierland at the Trading Post (I think its called). The 3 other places that sell the themed merchandise don't have them.

My husband's niece and her family have decided to join us for a few days during our Christmas trip. The problem is that we have tickets for the MVMCP on December 20, but they do not have tickets. And now MVMCP is sold out for that night. If anyone has 4 tickets for 12-20 that they will not be using, please PM me.

Thanks very much!!

Trying to work out our schedule for the MVMCP on the 16th. There's so much to see and do! We are assuming that this is a band. I know it's in TommorrowLand but can anyone shed some light on what takes place and how long it lasts? Is it not to be missed? TIA and Thanks to everyone for all the great info! :goodvibes

We will be at MVMCP on Dec. 18th. If you are already in the Magic Kingdom where do you go if you have MVMCP tickets?
Do you leave and then come back in?
Where do the people that do not have MVMCP tickets go?
If you are at another park what time can you get into the Magic Kingdom?

I know these questions have been addressed in the thread somewhere but this thread is getting very long....

Fantasyland was great - 5 min wait for Peter Pan (normal wait always at least 45 min), walk on to Small World, etc. We had to hurry from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland for the Christmas show at the Galaxy Theater and the only "traffic" we encountered was around Merchant of Venus area. We also did Buzz after with maybe a 10 min wait, and due to the coolness of the evening, when we rode the People Mover - there was a fog around the park - I'm guessing because of all the heat near the ground - it was very pretty!

Someone said that they are not sure the extra money is worth some cookies and cocoa (which we never seem to get) and a free picture - which we did wait about 25 min for - but it is the extra holiday spirit in the air! This was the coldest it has been in the three years we have lived here and attended (always been the same week, as my sister visits the same time) - so it was nice to have a chilly nose! This was my 81 year old mother's first MVMCP, so it was extra special! We didn't cover as much ground as we might have, but it was important to my sister and I and my DD that we did this as a family!

It was a wonderful evening, one that I will remember for a long time. It's as Magical of and experience as you make it!

we were there Friday as well and I second the above comments. We walked right onto Peter Pan, Small World, Snow White, and waited about 5 minutes for Philharmagic.

Also we look at it as not spending more money but actually spending LESS to do a park. You are there 8 hours and can do more rides than during a normal day and see the parade and fireworks as well.

-We went to the Rose Garden near the castle around 4:15 to get our wristbands.
-We headed over to Tomorrowland around 5:45 and were ushered into the Galaxy Theater for the first showing of Mickey's Night Before Christmas (cute show started at 6:45)
- from what I understand all the rides close at 6 and if you don't have a wristband the tell you the park is closed.
- not sure about the last question, I think 4:00...maybe some one else knows for sure.
Hope this helps! Have fun!!

This Christmas will be our family's 1st annual trip to WDW. I am so excited. Anyways, my question: Besides the reported crowd level differences, what is different from watching the parade on Main Street vs Adventureland? I would think you would get the same holiday experience no matter where you watch it, right?

If you are entering the park around 4:00PM for the Party, do you get your wristbands at the main gate or do you have to go somewhere else to get them?

My family personally prefers to watch the parade on Main Street
just because it "snows" on Main Street through the entire parade. Now please bear in mind that this is the only opportunity I get to see snow at all. :cold: The crowds on Main Street are a bit daunting and it is usually much less crowded back in Frontierland. Bottom line........all of the floats, songs, performers, characters, etc are exactly the same no matter where you watch. It's a matter of personal preference and IMHO ambience (did I spell that right???) :wave2:
