Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party Central 2005

for those who have attended this year..

what attractions would you say are can't miss.. the ones i must attend at all costs?

thanks

The parade and the dance party hop were great!!!
We were just there last night!!!!
It was a great way to end our trip!

We just got back this evening from Orlando. Went to MVMCP on 12/1,,, The Parade was AWESOME! I loved it. So did everyone else in our party of 7. Great place to watch without much of a crowd is outside of Country Bears in Frontierland. There is the porch in that part that runs a long way so you can stand behind the people on the street and still have a great view. Plus its no way near as crowded as Main St. The Holiday Wishes were also AWESOME! Got to ride Buzz a few times and Indy. Space Mountain had technical problems right as we got in so we couldn't do that, otherwise we would have been able to walk right on with hardly any wait (1-2 minutes at most).

Time for bed. Early to work tomorrow. Will be posting more tomorrow and over the next few days. Took over 400 pictures, so I need time to download those.

Just got back to 1.5 in. snow and still falling. We attended last nights MVMCP, last night at this time I was watching the parade to snow on Main St. only to come home to the real thing. The cookies and cocoa were great, the parade was great, the fireworks were a disapointment. I had expected a Christmas version of hallowishes and got what appeared to be regular wishes with a christmas twist. MVMCP was still worth it. They were herding everyone into Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square though the first 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' was at 6:45 in Tomorrowland which we attended.
The Pin for last night was Tink on a candy cane and I was able to buy it in fronteerland after being told I could only get it on Main St.. Shopping was better in adventure and frontier lands.

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!

I keep reading all your posts. Thank you to EVERYONE!!!!!
I love all of your info and pics!!!
We leave next Thurs for our first visit to WDW during the holidays. I am very excited about the MVMCP (we have tix on the 18th)

Only now I am a little concerned about crowds...
And now that the party for the 18th is sold out...

What exactly does "sold out" mean? What approx. number of tix is the "cut off"? Has anyone been in the past years when it has been sold out that could give some insight? Or maybe some advice on how to make the most of the crowds?

Thanks again EVERYONE!!!!

It's been posted here that they sell no more than 20,000 tickets.

I was there for the Dec 1 party. We drank a ton of cocoa...it was a bit chilly that night! But, the things I love to do are .....Mickey's T'was the Night Before Christmas show, Wishes holiday fireworks, Holiday parade...those are must do's for me. I love going to a few meets to get together with other DIS'ers.

No surprise that 12/18 and 12/20 are both sold out. I figured that would happen. Glad I got my tickets when they went on sale! Oh, well. The more the merrier, or so they say!

I was at a sold-out Halloween party this year, and a not-sold-out Christmas party. To be honest, I didn't notice that much of a difference in crowds. Both were kinda strange from a crowd standpoint. In the same night, there were big annoying crowds as well as times when the major rides were all walk-on. Go figure.

Fact is, there just aren't that many people in the park. So if you see a crowd somewhere, that means someplace else is probably empty. So my main suggestion for crowd management is to move if you ever are in one. Other tips:

While there were big crowds to get free cookies in Tomorrowland, there were none in Liberty Square. While there were big annoying crowds at Cosmic Ray's, there were none at Pecos Bills. While there were huge crowds at the beginning of the parade on Main Street, things were *much* better at the end of the route in Frontierland. Notice a pattern here?

The park was near deserted (well, by Disney standards) after 11:00 if you can make it that long.

There seems to be some inconsistencies in what is open 6:00-7:00. But attraction-lines were small leading up to 6:00, and whenever the rides re-open after 6:00.

Finally, if there are lines for the free photo, consider skipping it. Is it really all that great a prize? Bring your camera and ask somebody to take your picture at one of the many scenic spots in the Park.

I whole-heartedly agre!!! The first year we went we wasted over an hour for the picture and when we received it, the quality was terrible. Now we skip it and have someone take a picture of us. With digital cameras and cheap software you can really dress up your own picture and make as many copies as you wish for not much money. : ;)

I didn't even think about that. GOOD IDEA, I'm glad that you guys said that because I would have been wrestling with myself at the party thinking I NEEDED to get the stupid picture. :earsgirl:

I have been fortunate that the pictures I have gotten were always really good. But if you do want to skip them their are so many scenes to have a picture taken. Walkming up main street their is the flowers to the left in the little cove with a banch. When you turn left at castle to go over to frontier when you cross the bridge their is a little area with a old sleigh that you can sit in. Just look at the little things as you walk around they usually get passed by.

I've never encountered a bad line for the free photos. I enjoy doing this and it's now a tradition. This year, I even bought the special MVMCP photo frame to put one in.

Given that there were only 2 locations this year, I'd say they did a great job of making it go very fast.

I've never waited more then 15 minutes for my photo to be taken. I like the background and that it will come with a border with Mickey Very Merry Christmas party on it and the year.

I always get it done right at 7:00p before it's too crowded and before my girls get messy or tired. I've also heard that it dies down again during the second parade till closing.

To each their own.

Thank you for all the great advice...we are so excited to go on 12/18!!! :cool1: one quick question...what time do they let you into the park for the party without dinner reservations?

You can get into the park beginning at 4:00PM with your MVMCP ticket and without a park pass. If you are using your park pass that day you can get in at any time.

We will be there on that day, 12/18.........we will be the ones lining up at 4:00PM :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I do have a question...for those of you who have been this year...

For the "free pin" included, how and where do I get those? :confused3

This is our first MVMCP and we are totally psyched!!! We're going on the 20th...another sell out crowd, but hey, the magical Christmas is what I'm going for...crowds shmowds!!! I'll just pretend I'm out shopping for those last minute gifts...lol Honestly, some of ya'll have posted the best hint...where there's a crowd means that some other location is empty...so just keep moving.

Thanks to you two again for the MVMCP Party Program and a big THANKS to everyone who has provided great tips and info to help make our first MVMCP magical! :grouphug:

No one is saying anything about the Lake Howell Holiday Brass. Did anyone see them?? I come from a very musical family so this one is on the top of my list seeing that I also enjoy the small brass groups I've seen around the parks!!!!!!

There is no free pin, there never was...but there used to be a free button. They ended that last year. No button last year or this year unfortunately.

They will, however, be selling special MVMCP pins and they are available at Exposition Hall.
