*Mickey's Very Merry Bankruptcy Bash* LOTS OF PICS UPDATED!!!

Minniespal and Princess19 thanks for your positive feedback!

Cass- yes, the scaffolding was a nice touch. I was shocked. When we called downstairs they told us they were at full capacity and wouldnt be able to do a room switch. Jay went downstairs at that point to speak to a higher ranked employee and they gave us one of the rooms that are usually used as emergency rooms. Apparentely hotels only fill to 80% by law in case there's a hurricaine or other disaster of some sort...who knew?

Blaynexox- thank you for your feedback. I know what you mean about not finding young reviews. I hope that our review will give you guys some tips for your upcoming trip! Also I'm going to put a link for the dining review when I get just a little more of it finished :).

DAY 3:

This day we were scheduled to wake up at the crack of dawn again and go to the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast at O'hana. Reservations were at 7:50. Yeah, that didn't happen. The alarm went off and we definitely were not ready for it. When we did wake up around 8 Jay was a little sad as Stitch is his favorite character so I promised we'd make it over there before we came home.

Since I take infinitely more time than Jay to get ready he went downstairs to get breakfast at the Roaring Forks and bring it back to the room. Breakfast was YUMMY. No more Raisin Bran today folks! I had pancakes with sausage. Little tip- get peanut butter and spread it on top of the pancakes before putting syrup on. I got this tip in the 80's from a disney children's cook book. It's Winnie the Poooh style pancakes and it's a great touch. Jay had some sort of croissant/egg/cheese sandwich with hash brown which was also good. The coffee however, wasn't the best, but they need a way to get you to Kona right? ;) Something about eating such a big breakfast kicked us both in the stomach. At home we're slim fast people, well I am at least. So big and greasy breakfasts don't usually sit right. We decided to relax on our balcony for awhile and just take in the beauty of our resort.

Wilderness Lodge truly is a beautiful hotel. We're big advocates of the national parks. We've been to the west coast and seen a lot of the inspirations for Disney World. In fact we love it so much that we're going to Disneyland and then out to the national parks on the west coast for our honeymoon this upcoming May

Anyway, around 10 we made our way over to the buses and had to run for it as our bus was already parked with the doors shut. This happened to us everytime for the rest of our trip. Now of course I'd rather run then wait, but by the last day with our blistered up tired feet this became a bit less appealing.

Today however, we were going to Animal Kingdom. Now I have to say, Animal Kingdom is my least favorite park, but, to each their own. Jay prefers it to MGM though. It's not that it isn't a great park it's just always hot. I mean it was 70 degrees and at the park it felt like 90. Plus the lay out of it always seems poor to me. That being said I do love the animals, the shows and some of the attractions.

As we walked through we noticed Animal Kingdom was also already decorated for the holidays. I really loved this tree most of all because of the cute animal ornaments all over it.

PB110314.jpg

We took it pretty slowly today. The park was pretty empty so we didn't think we'd have to rush to the major attractions. We saw some beautiful animals on our way in. It was another beautiful morning.

PB110318.jpg

We had missed Everest last Spring which was another attraction Jay had really wanted to do so this was priority. We were at the world in March when there was soft openings and the wait was up to two hours and they were out of fastpasses at 10am! This time we knew we'd be able to get on and we were ready! We made our way over, and got fastpasses. We decided to do the Maharajah jungle trek and saw some pretty cool guys.

PB110322.jpg

PB110328.jpg

The Finding Nemo was having a soft opening so we decided to give it a whirl. I was VERY impressed. Even Jay liked it and normally he isn't a show kind of guy (hence not liking MGM). The way they do it is very interesting. I wish I had pictures but there's no photography in the theatre. Actual actors hold up the puppets of the fish. All of the actors were extremely talented. I especially enjoyed Marlin, the act with the sharks, and the act with Crush. Crush was an EXTREMELY gifted singer and I was taken aback. The show was pretty long, as it had every scene from the movie. I would say it might have even been 45 minutes. I definately suggest going to see this show even with a wait, it's definitely worth seeing! :thumbsup2

We were ready for lunch at this point so we split a counter service at Flame Tree Barbeque. YUM. This was the goods. Definitely get a barbeque sandwich!

Then it was time to meet the Yeti. Not the greatest planning on our parts to go right after lunch but, sometimes we let our stomachs get the best of us. Everest was AWESOME. What a cool ride. It was a little nauseating when it went backwards but other then that it was great. The yeti was scary enough to keep my eyes closed. In fact the picture they take was a little embarassing because my hands were hiding my face! I was rotating between putting my face on Jay's shoulder, covering my eyes and covering my ears. However, a must see!

PB110321.jpg

We headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey at this point to see what was going on. This part of the park was decorated elaborately and they were playing Christmas Carols. It was a little bizarre because it felt so hot outside but, still fun. We met Pluto.

PB120344.jpg

And took some shots in front of the Christmas Trees.

PB120348.jpg

Then we decided to see Festival of the Lion King. Another great show. We really enjoyed watching the guy twirling the fire baton but he dropped it and it went flying! After that I was a little nervous about sitting so close!!! Also the Monkey Acrobats were great. The singers were okay, the younger girl was especially talented though. We enjoyed this show very much! :thumbsup2

At this point we decided to go over and see Pocohontas. Not a great show. If you have little ones it's definitely cute, but otherwise make a point to skip this show. It's definitely geared towards very young ones. Actually we skipped out a little early :rolleyes1 but, we did it while ducking, I swear!

PB120367.jpg

We headed over to the bar in Africa and saw the same bartender that was working there back in March. Jay ordered a rum runner and I ordered a bananna daiquiri. Note: do not order a rum runner, or anything off of that list. Jeremy's drink was about 98% alcohol. You couldn't even drink it. Well Jay did, but I told you he's my scrooge and he was getting his money's worth. Seriously though, it was the kind of drink you'd have to do a shot of if you had any chance of getting down. My daiquiri however was just right.

PB120362.jpg

After finishing our drinks we decided to line up for Mickey's Jingle Jungle parade. I was so excited to see this. I had seen the pictures from last years parade and I had never seen a parade at AK before so I was really pumped. We lined up really early so we could get a seat. Then, it happened.

A cast member walked over to us and asked if it was just the two of us. We said yes and then they asked us if we wanted to be in the parade! We asked what it would entail and they told us all we had to do was sit on the float that had Mickey on it so we said sure why not. We were lead to the backstage area. It was bizarre back there! I was half expecting to see a group of characters huddled together smoking cigarettes and drinking brandy back there! But not at all. They were perfectly in character. What was most bizarre was I saw Chip get zipped up. That was very very odd and just felt wrong!

They dressed us up as elves with big christmas tree hats and red and green vests and onto the float we went. We were instructed to keep smiling and waving to everyone. Mickey was about ten feet behind us on the same vehicle. He was the big cheese, so we were the last float of the parade.

It was very cool. At first. About half an hour later we rolled out and there we were in this huge parade. Smiling. And waving. More smiling. More waving. Smile, wave, smile, wave, smile, wave, smile, wave. SMILE WAVE SMILE WAVE. The same three lines of song, Mickey saying the same line over and over and over again for 45 minutes. The same little dancing elf steppers in front of us doing the same three steps. I had everything memorized within 5 minutes. 45 minutes later we made it back to land. It was a magical experience but NEVER again. If you have kids go for it, they'll love it. As adults, skip it. I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, because it was very memorable but I don't know. Apparentely a career in parade entertainer just isn't my road to take. Jay being the performer however, had a blast. And that made it all worth it  . If anyone happened to get a snap of us that day 11/12 PLEASE pm me. I'd love to see it.

After the parade it was almost closing time but we still had time to go on the safari. We love seeing the animals. Last year we rode at opening and I would suggest doing this if possible. A lot more animals are out during the morning. I'd say we saw about 75% more during that time. Still we had a great time. I really love the safari.

PB120386.jpg

At this point the park was closing and we were ready as we had had a wonderful and magical day. However it was time to freshen up as we had dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant, Artist Point and were really excited. It was time to get fresh and clean.

Up Next: The Big Suprise

Thanks for the trip report! Glad to hear that WL fixed your room issue, I am surprised they would rent a room like that out!

Thanks for your responses. Yes, budbeerlady thank goodness they cleared up the room issue! Thankfully we got a great room with a great view.

Mikelan thanks for reading! We got some sweatshirts, a calendar, picture frames, mickey ears...just little things here and there!

Another great installment! :thumbsup2 That was so awesome that you guys got to be in the parade .. maybe that will happen to us in February :rolleyes1 I hope so! I love the pictures and thanks for the Nemo review - im dieing to see that and now I'll definitely make sure i dont miss it! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We made it back to our resort and relaxed for awhile. We walked around the grounds and then just watched the Mickey Cartoons in our room. After awhile it was time to get ready for dinner. After getting ready we made our way downstairs to check in for our reservation. There was a 15 minute wait so we decided to go to the bar. As always I had my Bacardi and Diet and Jay his Jack and Coke.

We talked about a conversation we had had with the cab driver on our way to Universal. Rumor has it that Disney is going to be opening a 5th major theme park and Universal will be opening a third. We talked about what they may be possibly opening. We talked about how it would be cool to have them do something with their Harry Potter rights, or maybe do something cool with Narnia. About the time we finished our drinks it was time to check in.

Artist Point is such a beautiful restaurant. It's definitely our favorite in disney world and has been every trip. I couldn't rave about this restaurant more. We had a wonderful time. We did it up this night with appetizers, salad, a cheese course, entrees and dessert. We had an extremely wonderfully romantic time here. This is Disney magic for us. The romance, the romantic dining. We're big on nice dinners and having it at Disney where everything is just perfect, was just...perfect. Even though I'm doing a seperate dining report I have to put a picture of our dessert because it was so pretty. It's called coffee two ways and consists of coffee creme brulee and a coffee and chocolate lava cake with a magic kingdom vanilla candy on top. YUM! :thumbsup2

PB120429.jpg

We were still in a semi buzzed, happy and romantic state when we returned to our room. We had decided that we were going to change since we were so full into sweatshirts and sweatpants and then go to the beach to watch the electric water paegent which neither of us had seen before.

I opened the door and there it was...a wonderfully romantic suprise from my Jay.

PB120431.jpg

how beautiful is that?

PB120432.jpg

A beautiful cinderella slipper that I had admired on our last trip to the world, on top of a bed of flowers with balloons and pluto, my favorite disney character. Apparentely he had been planning this for weeks calling different flourists and the wilderness lodge making sure it was delivered while we were at dinner. I then rememberd a week before when he had flipped out when I almost changed our Artist Point reservation for another day and I just couldn't take it and started crying. I truly am marrying the best man in the world.

PB120436.jpg

After admiring my suprise a bit more we made our way down to the beach. It was only us and a father and his son far away from us. Watching the paegent was really fun. It reminded me of the 80's when everything was more simple. Although in desperate need of updating by today's standards, we loved it just the way it was. After the paegent rolled by we spent some more time on the beach just talking and looking at the stars. Eventually we made our way back to the resort and waited for the geyser to erupt. It did. It didn't really impress us which started to worry us because part of the honeymoon we have planned for this May is to see the geyser this is modeled after! Hopefully the real thing is a more impressive sight!!! At this point we were pretty tired so we made it back to our room and called it a night

Looking back this was definitely the most memorable night of the trip.

PB120442.jpg

Love your trip rport...and the pictures make it really fun to read.

What a romantic DF you have. That was so sweet. We will be there next week and celebrating our 10th anniversary (we have been for our 8th and 9th too).

Awww you guys seem like you had an amazing time so far. The flowers, glass slipper, and Pluto... :cloud9:

Omg that surprise was SO sweet! It must have been so exciting to come back to the room and find that beautiful slipper on the flowers!! :cloud9:

Im really curious about the WDW rumors of opening a 5th theme park! Do you know anything more about it ??

Love the TR - keep it coming! :thumbsup2

The glass slipper was sooooo sweet, what a sweetie your guy is :)

Thanks everyone for your responses!

Lookingfoward, Cass and Princess19 thanks for reading!

Avivasmom congratulations on your tenth anniversary!

Blayne- unfortunately I don't know anything about the 5th disney park although I wish I did!

MissJ I'm so happy to hear you loved Yellowstone, hopefully we will too!

Great trip report. Your fiance is so sweet, how romantic!!!

Ah morning. Another alarm to sleep through. "Ha ha hi folks it's Mic-" click.

Something about all the food and liquor last night kept us sleeping till 9:30. We didn't mind getting up later this day however because we were going to be up and out late at the MVMCP.

We decided to call disney dining and see if there was a late opening for Stitch's breakfast over at O'hana. Although there wasn't the pleasant women on the phone told me if we just went over there we should be able to get in. We decided to give it a try and made our way over by taking a boat to the contemporary and then using the monorail. We had never been to the Contemporary before and thought it was nice. It was very art deco which generally isn't our thing but I can definitely see how people enjoy the resort. We took some pictures and then made our way over to the Polynesian.

We went to check in and the hostess let us know that it would be an hour wait, but we didn't mind. We had nothing planned until 4 and it was only ten in the morning. We were hungry at this point and an hour seemed a bit much so we made our way over to the resort gift shop and picked up a box of cookies. They were pretty good for just dry simple cookies. Definitely worth a snack credit though

PB120477.jpg

We were seated basically in the same area we had eaten dinner in. The food here was also good. We were given pineapple bread, cinnamon rolls, waffles, sausage, etc. To us breakfast food is breakfast food, but we still enjoyed it. The character interaction here however was great. Best of all was Pluto. He really got into it with us. He licked us both a bunch of times and then pointed to me and grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Jay as if to say "my woman now". It was cute and made us both laugh. Jay responded by "hey I have food, good exchange Pluto". Thanks honey. The other characters were Stitch, Mickey and Lilo. All were fun but not as much as Pluto!

PB130486.jpg

PB130489.jpg

We had a nice time at breakfast. This was my favorite character breakfast out of the ones we've done. It's nice to not have to go to a buffet because a lot of the time then you miss the characters. I give a high recommendation!

After breakfast we perused the stores at both the Poly and Contemporary. We had a pretty good time. Of course, I love to shop!

PB130500.jpg

one of my loves in life is watching Jay try on silly hats. It's just too much

We made our way back to the resort and decided to go down by the pool. Jay went down the slide at the pool which was amusing because he was in a line with six year olds. I have a video of it but I think he might kill me if I put it on here so I'm going to have to ask his permission first and then possibly edit it in! We had a nice time by the pool. I had my always Bacardi and Diet Coke and Jay had an LIT. We didn't stay in the water too long. I don't know why but at Disney I have this fear that all the children go to the bathroom in the pools and it just gets to me everytime I get in the water. Silly right..? Right....? Hmmm.

We made our way back to the room and got ready for the Christmas Party. We had an ADR at Tony's Ristorante and I was a little apprehensive to be quite honest with you. We live in an area that's completely italian, my parents are italian, all we eat is italian when we go out and we have the best italian restaurants in the country. I was not expecting good italian food but still, I wanted to be able to eat it at least.

Anyway, on the boat ride over I was able to get a pretty neat shot of the kingdom.

PB130509.jpg

We immediately went to check in. While there wasn't a wait the restaurant wasn't open yet so we took some pictures in the waiting area. What an adorable restaurant! I love the lady and the tramp theme. It was worth going to if only for the ambience.

PB130513.jpg

While we were waiting the Family Fun Parade was going on right outside and look who was there. Horace Horsecollar!

PB130515.jpg

I must also note that we got a picture with Clarabelle Cow on our first day at the Magic Kingdom. I know people search for these characters and some say they aren't ever out anymore but we saw them quite a few times!

PB100212-1.jpg

Anyway we were seated and I have to say it wasn't THAT bad. My entree was actually pretty good. But I'll leave all that for my dining report. We had a nice time regardless and by the time we were done we were FULL. Keep in mind we had had the character breakfast and cookies just six hours before.

PB130533.jpg

Just a shot of the restaurant

PB130518.jpg

Now it was time for the party! My party section is going to be pretty long, I'm considering posting pictures of the whole parade. I'm going to do it today but right now I have to bake a pie for thanksgiving tomorrow, I'll see you all "real soon"

So I'm supposed to be writing a trip report myself... but it's much more fun reading yours!

We were there the same time - and at the same party too :)

Can't wait to read more...
