Ok, for those of you who have seen the show, besides 3D what special effects are there? My DD6 does not like any of the 3D shows not so much because of the 3D but because of the extra effects (water, air, smoke, etc...). She loves TOT however (go figure:rolleyes: ). TIA

There shouldn't be anything in there to scare anyone- we were there last month. A little water and a sweet smell. (dont want to give anything away.):wave2:

There is some air, also, that blows out of the seat in front of you; not too much, and you can pretty much block most of it with your hand. It got a bit loud a couple of times, too.

They throw a lot of air in your face, but as gallaj0 mentioned, you can just block the vent with your hand (it's on the seat in front of you). There are also a couple of smells all of which are pleasant and one small crash in the end. It seems to me as being much tammer than any of the other Disney 3D attractions like Bugs or Muppets. I think she'll be fine.

Thanks for all of your quick replies. I guess we'll try it and see how she does. When I asked her what new stuff she would try this time, all she would talk about was Space Mountain and how she was finally tall enough. When I asked about Philharmagic her response was "that isn't 3D is it?":p

Actually, my son left his 3D glasses off for most of the show, and didn't have a problem. Most of the time he could see the picture fine, the only time it got "fuzzy" was when they were doing a real "deep" 3D effect. He could put them on and take them off just to see the things he wanted.

The show is definitely tamer than the other Disney 3D shows, in fact, our son was 6 weeks old when we went in November and he slept thru the entire show... we loved it, though :teeth:

On our last trip in 9/03 we went to see Philharmagic at the AP preview. Our DD's -- 4 and 21mo at the time -- absolutely loved it! In fact, we saw it 3 times. They both are afraid of HISTA and ITTBB, but they enjoy Muppets. Just a little input!

Like your DD, my 4yo LOVES TOT! We thought she would like the ride itself, but would be afraid of the preshow. However, she liked the whole thing. She is still afraid of Haunted Mansion, though.

If I may add...
The 3-d effects are way ahead of the effects from the previous films. I notice that in the Muppet film, I strain to see the effects. But Philharmagic was simply awesome. Especially the scene in the Agrabah!

We saw it 5 times last trip in October 2003. I dont think we saw a single child crying. They were all laughing and giggling. It is very much so designed for the little kids. Dont hesitate to see it.

Thanks for bringing it up! DS(8) hasn't really liked any of the 3D shows, but since he saw a special about M's Philharmagic, that's all he's talked about for our next trip! Sounds like it will be an experience he (and I) will enjoy!

My dd hates 3D anything we just discovered on HISTA. She is 6 but I had to take her outside because she started crying. She did want to try Philharmagic but ended up keeping her glasses off most of the time. She just does not like the things coming into her face no matter what they are. The one part she did put her glasses on is during the Jasmine part because some fun things come out and she saw everyone grabbing at them and wanted to see what it was.

I know it is mostly kid friendly but there were some parts that she found scary. Especially in the beginning when Donald is flying after the hat. It gets quite loud.
