Also, I was on another website and came across some new tips I had not seen before. I wanted to share them w/ all of my fellow first timers :
"If you explore the islands on your own bathrooms are NOT plentiful and usually have someone there wanting a tip for you to use the bathroom.
Their idea of clean is different from ours so take a travel size seat covers and t- paper and hand sanitizer to be save. many bathrooms I have been in arnt well supplied. Best restrooms are in the Casinos nd they arnt the greatest.
also NO water fountains, so bring a bottle of water with you from the ship. It is cheaper than buying water on the islands. or bring your own from home."
"take small bills for the islands. many small shops dont have change."
"most shops who take credit cards, require a $20 minimum purchase."

Thanks for the tips Dawn. We are 'planning' on doing a walking tour (self guided) around Nassau and I am glad to know that ahead of time.

Amy! Glad you are cruising w/ us! You are in good company here! I am cruising w/ my sons ages 4 and 9 (will turn 10 on the cruise) as well as my mother and her boyfriend. It is a first cruise for all of us as well and we are very excited! If you have any questions just ask and glad your jumping (into) ship.

Hi, Mary. My mom lives about an hour away from you. She's in Spring Hill. We'll kind of be driving past your house the morning of the cruise since we're going to mom's house the night before the cruise, leaving our kids, and heading to the port the next morning.

Welcome aboard!!! So glad to have another family to join our cruise! There is a lot of information throughout this thread, but like already mentioned, please just ask if you don't understand something or just want more info. We are hoping to have a Dis meet at some point the first day. Also some of us are doing Fish Extenders (they hang outside of your stateroom) and are for a little gift exchange. (just do a search on fish extenders and you will see lots of info). I see you are from PA, where abouts? I am in DE just south of the PA line.

I can't access you tube. My internet connection at home is slower than a snail trying to crawl up a molasses tree and they have it blocked here at work. What can I say? I'm challanged.

I was reading a naviagator from a 5/08 cruise and it made me SO excited. Sometimes it is SO hard to keep this a secret!

Some one is recording as the mom gives the three kids something and says you'll need these cause we are going to DisneyWorld!!!! Two kids cried, the one wanted to go to Dick's house??? The other a smaller child probably cried cause the other one was, but the older one just sat there like I can't believe you are making me go to DW! It was so sad that everyone is not like us!!!

Welcome! I am taking my 9 yr old DS and my 10 yr old DD on this cruise. This will be my 10th cruise and DCL is my favorite line. I hope you enjoy it too.

I said we would have to check and see when the lowest prices were whenever I can afford to go. I am not sure who all is doing the FE's. I think I'll ask Hayley to put a note on the first page of those that are doing them.
