Wow Mary, that's an amazing thought. I would of never come up with that. Not corney at all. Does hubby work out of town regularly?

Thankfully no. It's a broadcast designers conference--once a year for 5 days. I'm good for the first 2 days then I start to go a little bonkers. :bitelip:

I can't wait to show DH the stuff you guys are building for the magnets. He is going to have to make a decent showing. You may put him to shame!

Those look great Patricia! I don't have photoshop, wish I did. I'm using some paint program.....it works ok. I might have to send you the rest of my pictures to play with though! My computer genius friend got all the formats changed for me so I can use them now! :thumbsup2 Well I better get to bed.....back to work for me tomorrow. I have gotten use to sleeping in!

Dawn,

I love playing with this stuff and since for the most part everything is done for my vow renewal, I am going a little bonkers WAITING for September to get here. I'll play and see what we can do, it will definately be a joint effort.

Oh Mary, if your hubby is a designer, we are all in trouble, lol. He'll be given the job of designing some awesome signs for us less creative ones. Glad he doesnt' ahve to travel often.

Ok, this is completely :offtopic: and sorry, but I had to share. My daughter, Aubre was a competitive gymnast (until her back could not handle it). She competed during high school and then started working as in instructor for a while. She was selected as a volunteer to help setup and take down the equipment for the Olympic trials for gymnastics this week in Philadelphia!

That was enough for her, she loves to be anywhere near gymnatics stuff. Well, she ended up helping the 'right person' and as it turns out, she is now his 'side-kick' and has been given a full acess MATT pass for the week!!!! She'll be sitting on the side while her favorite sport is going on just feet away (well a lot of feet if on the other side, lol). She's in her glory! And I'm so happy for her. She's always wanted to go volunteer to work the olympics so this is the closest she may get.

Sorry, just had to share! :goodvibes

I am sooo jealous!! My family is tired of hearing me chant 8-8-08. lol. My #1 fav is swimming but, gymnastics is a close second. Good for her.

1 more day until DH comes home. :yay:

Mary,

Oh we LOVE To watch the gymnastics. So much more after you actually understood what was going on. I am jealous of my daughter too, she's gotten to go work for Mickey her fall semester last year and now this, and all she talks about is studying abroad. Well, she is NOT goign on our cruise, so I got one up on her, lol. Actually wish the kids were coming, but we got married in the wrong month for planning trips (school gets in the way).

If anyone is interested, I was on the Kennedy Space Center website and saw there would be two rocket launches on our cruise. One on 9/9 at 12 noon on a very large rocket. I wonder if we will be able to see it from Castaway Cay. :confused3 The other one will be the day we dock on 9/11 at 12 noon. They are sending up a sattelite that day.

These launches are no long slated to be at those times. The kennedyspacecenter.com website, not affiliated with NASA, frequently has wrong dates and times. They usually put 12 noon when a launch does not have a time yet; I believe they do that so visitors plan to come that day.

This is the best site to bookmark:
http://www.spaceflightnow.com/tracking/index.html

There are no launches at all from the Cape until Sept. 26 at the earliest.

I heard back regarding the fish extender and she cannot do Figment, but Grumpy and Eeyore are no issue so I have opted for Mickey as the third character.
I had my first review meeting with my line manager today and that went really well. He told me that he had heard a bit of *****ing about my appointment and wanted to let me know that he does not take this serious at all and that he will back me up if it is needed. I have been aware of this as well and I am glad about his attitude on this subject.
I also found out today that my mentor has just handed in her resignation and is leaving at the end of July. Now they have to find me a new mentor and I have put in a request for one of the French team leaders to become my new mentor. When I started with the company she was the manager's secretary and for some reason we formed an instant bond. She is also really good at her job and I could learn such a lot from her. I hope that when they appoint a new German team leader to replace my present mentor, the people doing the *****ing will lose interest in me.
Back to more pleasant topics. I keep watching the DCL website like a hawk in case our stateroom assignment for the cruise on the Magic comes through. Some people on that cruise who booked a GTY status have already had theirs so now I am getting impatient.

Corinna

Not to be stupid, but what is 8-8-08?:confused3
(besides my birthday  )

Patricia, I think that is great that your daughter can get so close to something she loves! That is awesome! This has been a great year for your family so far!

Ok, as you all know....I'm suprising my oldest son with this cruise for his 10th birthday. I bought him a personalized Disney watch and plan on giving it to him the morning we leave for our cruise along with this card I made......Please tell me what you all think.........

8-8-08 is the start of the summer olympics. I really don't care for the winter games so it's every 4 years for me. Remember when they both were only every 4 years?

Love the card. He is going to freak!

ah, ok. :) We don't have cable so I feel SO cut off from the world sometimes. We only get NBC and FOX on rabbit ears. I hope one of those networks will show the olympics because I do love to watch it.

Ok, I ran my first 5k ever!!!! I finished! It was harder than the treadmill (cause there were real HILLS). I am so happy that I finished and there were LOTS of people behind us (so we didn't come in near the end). My time was just under 45minutes (slower than the treadmill, but hey, i did it!)

Oh, Patricia, that is SO amazing! I am So SO happy for you! :cool1: Just think at how far you have come! Keep up the good work and I'll continue to cheer for you! :cheer2: Just think.....in a couple more months you can run the 5K around the promanade!

In two months, two weeks and five days and I plan to do some running, but in no way will it be a 5k! You don't want to see how bad I looked at the end, lol. I do want to get up early and jog when the sun is rising, I've heard how beautiful it is.

!!Congratulations!! You really did it!! I'm so excited for you!

CONGRATULATIONS PATRICIA!! WOW! That's an amazing achievement, you've come so far and you should be really proud of yourself!!

I have all the magnets that I made, and then some more that I found here on the DIS, and I will upload them all after we get back from going out to dinner tonight (or tomorrow if it's late) - they are on my laptop. I also need to get the magnetic tape on the actual magnets, stick them up and show them to you!

You guys are doing a great job with them so far, and I love the magnet surprising Christopher with the cruise - very cool!!

Yes it will be on NBC. Don't forget all TV goes digital next year so you will need cable or a dish.

Way to go Patricia!!! :woohoo: :worship:

QUOTE]

Our rabbit ears are suppose to get HDTV....but we will see the real test next year. Our area is to rural for cable and I really can't afford the extra cost of satelite. So, if it doesn't work it doesn't work. It won't be the first time we have been without any network television. We just watch lots and lots of movies.
