Hi, everyone, and welcome TLP. I'm sure your
Disney Cruise knowledge is already growing by leaps and bounds.
I'm back from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Amazingly, our flight was not significantly delayed or canceled due to weather-a real possibility. The only time I thought we were going to have a problem was when the cabin began to fill with what looked like smoke. This happened while we were still on the ground, and it turned out to be the result of the de-icing crew accidentally spraying de-icing fluid into the air conditioning system. No biggie. The air cleared, the crew finished and we left.
As for the experience of being in Bay St. Louis in its post-Katrina condition, all I can say is it was what I expected in some ways but not in others. Since my husband, along with a team from our church, had been down there in November, I had already seen recent photos and heard stories from him and the volunteers. But, pictures and secondhand stories didn't prepare me for meeting the survivors, hearing their conversations, and looking into their eyes as they told their stories. Have any of you been down that way since the Hurricane? Are any of you from the area? If so, you know what I mean. What happened in August of 2005 is not over for the people who are rebuilding their homes, their lives and their spirits. If you want to see where I went, check out

On another topic, we have stayed at both the Radisson and the Residence Inn. We liked them both. If we weren't staying with my mom the night before the cruise, I'd have a hard time deciding on which one to book. I've never stayed at the Comfort Inn, but that name seems to be popping up a lot these days, too.
