Can anyone tell me if it's worth getting Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets? What has been your experience?

My family and I went in 2013. We made a special trip to Orlando for one day before a cruise out of Miami. It was by far the favorite thing we did on vacation for all so us. The parade was awesome. We rode tons of rides with very short lines. We met some characters, Captain. Hook, Shadowman, etc. My son loved trick or treating. Overall, it was awesome. We would totally go back.

I think it's definitely worth it. The first time we went (2011) I bought tickets on a whim; there was a MNSSHP that night and I didn't want to leave MK at 7pm. I'm not a big Halloween person, but that party turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Boo To You and HalloWishes are fantastic, my daughter loves trick-or-treating and the meet & greets, and we both love the short lines. It's the one Disney event that I look forward to and we now go to 2-3 parties during our fall trips!

We did the party in 2013 and loved it. It depends on what you like. We also did the Christmas party this year. Don't use a park ticket that day, use only the party ticket. You can get in a little before 4 and stay until after Midnight. (We did 3:40 to 1:00 at the Christmas party because we were in a ride line at Midnight closing) The fall & Halloween decorations are beautiful, There are lots of unique characters not out except at parties. Halloween has Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. We didn't stand in a lot of lines, but took pictures of the characters. Then there are special shows that are nice. And in general the atmosphere is nice. Riding lines are not bad since many want to do the shows and Disney limits the number of tickets for the party.

I would do it again. In fact I am next fall.

We do MNSSHP every time we go. SO worth it! It's our favorite day of the trip. Already thinking about costumes for this year....

We love MNSSHP! It really is the best. If you get into Halloween and dressing up you will love it.

DSis and I went once in Sept of 2013. We had our snags -- mostly due to my own lack of preparedness and a mid-party rainshower -- but the good equaled the bad and now I would know some things better for a future party, should we ever go again. Would I suggest trying it for yourself? Absolutely! Make sure you're realistic about not experiencing every single thing, be smart about what you want to do, dress up if that's your fancy then go and have fun!

I have done the party in 2011 (on Halloween night) and 2014 and I love it!! In 2011 we hit almost every candy stop and ended up with almost two full bags of candy and in 2014 we hit just the one side of the park and almost had a full bag of candy. We hit a lot of the rides with little wait and got to see the parades and fireworks in 2011. This last time we went we were tired from driving that we worked our way out of the park and watched the first parade going by. I am not a big fan of fireworks, so I wasn't upset for missing them.

You can usually get into the park at 4pm and the party doesn't start until 7pm. You can get a LOT done in that 3 hr time frame. We scheduled 3 FP+'s for that time. We also met some characters that you don't normally get to see out in the park...Jafar and Tarzan.

I find it a deal if you plan that as your day in the park and not buy a day on your pass also. In 2011 that was the day we arrived by plane, so we had some time to relax and last year we had drove down from PA, so we were a little more tired than I thought we would be, so that is why we didn't stay until the end.

I would definitely do it again!!

Went first time to DW this past Oct and attended the Halloween party. We quite liked it and it was fun to be dressed up in our costumes and see everyone else. We went in right at 4pm (spent earlier part of day at Epcot) and took advantage of short lines for rides. We didn't do any character greets since the lines were long (exceptions were Gaston...who was hilarous and tiana...as those both has short lines). The special parade was great as well as the show before it at the castle (forget the name), light show and fireworks. Did some trick or treating. We left around 10:30am since we had young kids, but if you can stay out later, then you can take full advantage.

PS - In my report link below, you can read the MNSSHP section on page 3

We have been and for us if is worth it. Cost wise it is quite expensive for our family, so that keeps us from repeat visits. But that is lack of funds and not lack of worth. :-)

Parade is my favorite part. We do not try and meet characters. We enjoy the Trick or treating and better access on rides.

My try to go again next year and if not, maybe camp at Fort Wilderness and trick or treat there. When we went, it was Oct 21 (2012). My understanding is that the earlier you can go, the better. Closer to Halloween gets more busy.

I do recommend entering at 4pm.

You will always get enthusiastic YESes around here, including from me, but I'll caveat mine. Do you and your kids like Halloween? I know some people who just aren't Halloween people, and they would probably hate MNSSHP. If you love the Haunted Mansion and Nightmare Before Christmas (and stuff like that) you're practically guaranteed to have a great time. It can be rather crowded (but ride lines are SHORT!), especially at sold-out events. Dressing up is fun and seeing all the costumes is amazing!

If you like Halloween, don't hesitate, especially because more dates are selling out than ever before. Don't wait until you get there. I'm not sure when tickets go on sale, but it will be several months out.
