Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

Does anyone know how far in advance tickets for MNSSHP can be purchased? There are only two nights that we can go, and one is a friday, which I would like to avoid, so I want to get my tickets for the day I want as soon as I can!

According to wdwinfo.com, details for MNSSHP haven't been released yet, but I thought someone on another thread had said May 1.

The dates for MNSSHP have been released, but the date tickets go on sale and for how much HASN'T been released (this is according to wdwinfo.com).

It was rumored on another thread to be May 1.

The dates that are out right now are "supposed" dates. Some people claim to have inside info on the dates that are given to travel agents and such but I have yet to find a travel agent here in Indiana or in Florida that actually has the dates. HOWEVER, the dates here on the DIS are probably correct. But according to a Disney CRO the dates and ticket sales will be released from Disney on or around April 1st.

I don't think the dates were out this early last year. The tix went on sale May 1st last year but since the dates are known so early I would bet that the tix will be out earlier too. April 1st sounds like a good guess. Anyone else have any guesses? I am waiting patiently too! (ya right)!

Okay here is the deal. We went to the Christmas Party and it was alright but we just didn't think there was as many characters as we had hoped out for the evening. They were out only in little bits but the shows were good. I want to know if the halloween party is better at having the villians out and other characters that you don;t get through the day. Do they have some shows that you will notsee through the day? When we was there in ealry Dec. the christmas parade showed in the daytime the first day we was there and Mickey's Twas the night before christmas showed through the day that day too. Just want to know if we go in October if some stuff for the party will beshowing through the day?
Do they give free cookies and Cocoa or just the treats from treating?

Last year I didn't notice any of the Halloween "stuff" happening during the day. It was strictly at night as far as I could see. I did not notice the sugar cookies and cidar as I had in previous years but I was sooo wrapped up in my 2 small children that I probably missed them. Last year we came across many different characters. Lots. We saw many character from Alice In Wonderland. The Queen of Hearts was the best. We saw cards and the White Rabbit too. We sat in on one story time and Merlin was the teller. It was totally worth it. The decorations, music and lighting were great. You would not get that during the day either!

The 'tentative' and 'unofficial' dates are certainly out earlier this year than last year and I'll bet they are correct! Which could mean the tickets will go on sale earlier than last year. Last year was the earliest they'd gone on sale thus far, May 1. Time will tell for this year! We'll all just have to keep checking the DIS!

We went for the first time last year on Halloween night itself, and it was pretty crowded. We are going early in the month this year, and I want to choose the least crowded day (based on past experiences). Thanks for the help!

This past year we did the very first party on 10/1, which was a Friday. I found the crowds to be very light. It was wonderful!!! At one point only a little past 7pm, there was not another guest to be found in Fantasyland. No matter which way you turned you couldn't see anyone, but a few CM's. We walked onto Peter Pan and we were the only one's getting on. It was a little weird.

In comparison, in 2003 we did sold-out Halloween night. It was 10 times more crowded than the first party. With the exception of the parties right at Columbus Day weekend, I think most of the early ones are pretty empty. I know we're looking into one of the first few again for this year.

kilee - thanks for the info. We're hoping to do the Oct. 2nd party this year and lighter crowds would be great. We did 2 parties at the end of Oct. last year and there were alot of people there!!!

Like SamanthaL said I didn't notice any Halloween happenings during the day but at night the place was transformed. I did notice decorations around during the day but they seemed to fit the autumn theme. I know the parade is not the one you will see during the day and there are villians and other characters in it. One thing we noticed last year was the CMs at the Haunted Mansion were more "made up" for the evening. The grave diggers actually perform in the parade. My son saw Yu-Gi-Oh and that just made his night. You receive a bag when you arrive for trick or treating and the candy is all over the place. We usually don't even bother trick or treating until late at night and by then the CMs are throwing candy at you. We brought home three bags full last year.

I haven't been to a Christmas party so I can't compare but these parties are my main reason for going in October. They're great!!

You're not causing any problems, Barb. The information on WDWINFO.COM is accurate, but the other poster has a problem accepting that we've been able to obtain information from Disney that CRO isn't releasing to the public yet.

We have gone to MNSSHP in early October 3 times, two on Friday night and once on Sunday night. The thing that we noticed, crowd-wise, is that the crowds seem to drop off much quicker on the Sunday night party than on the Friday night ones. They were all sell-out crowds, but none seemed "crowded" to us. I would classify at as "busy" not crowded, if that makes sense at all, LOL...

according to the DIS, there's going to be a mid-week MNSSHP during our Fall trip I can't wait!!
