I can't help you with the dates are for this years MNSSHP - I don't think that they are released yet. Last year we went to this for the first time --- we are a 'little' older than 27 - we were actually celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary on this trip!!
We enjoyed the whole evening - yes, we got the Halloween bags that were given out & stood in line for the candy - which we gave to our grandchildren when we got back home!! We didn't go on many rides. We enjoyed the 'special parade' & the 'headless horseman' that went down mainstreet before the parade. The fireworks were good - with a 'surprise' flying from the castle before the fireworks!!! We did not 'dress-up' for this - but - we did enjoy watching the people who were!! We were glad that we went to it!!!
My sister and I (currently 27 & 28) have gone to MNSSHP for the last two years and hope to go back this year. I'd say it's a blast for anyone who's a kid at heart. We put on costumes (not too extravagant) and trick-or-treated our way through the park. Anyone should be able to appreciate the short lines during the party. The decorations are great, and we loved the parade and fireworks. We also enjoyed seeing all of the little kids (and some adults, too) in their costumes.
I don't know the dates for 2003, but I can tell you this is a great experience for adults!
My husband and I are in our early thirties, and I think we had more fun than a lot of the kids!
We did dress up (we bought costumes from Mouseplanet via Disneyland) as Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip and our costumes were so believable, kids were asking for our autographs!
There are so many unique opportunities for pictures--the whole atmosphere is "spooky" and the classic characters (Mickey, Donald, Pooh, etc.) are dressed up in costume as well. There are also a lot more photo ops with villains since it is Halloween and the parade is unique!
I went with 7 friends from work, ( All working Mom's) and the party was great. Of course we stayed at the Poly and most of the night after the park closed you could hear the scary voice calling to you "COME BACK ........" "COME BACK ......." What nice fun. we all had a blast. I think you will all have a great time and don't be embarrased to get your candy bag remember we are all kids at Mickey's place.
Is the party not necessarily on Oct. 31st? I am already thinking ahead for 2004 but would like to take the cruise which unfortunately leaves on the 31st. So, my question is-will there be a party and trick-or-treating on the 30th?
While we did go with our 4 kids Zurg and I dressed to the nines and went trick or treatin....It is one of our most favorite times to visit Disney..we have done it twice now
I think the Halloween Party runs a few weekends in Oct. It was not the 30th or the 31st when we went I believe it was like the 17th. I think you will have a few opportunities to attend. Some of the costumes were so nice and the parade was awesome. Don't miss it if you can squeeze it in, but hey, remember there's always a wonderful next time.............
We always got to WDW during October and never miss MNSSHP!
All the rides are open with no lines. The parade is great...don't miss the Headless Horseman!
The last two trips DH and I have gone to MNSSHP alone, DS has stayed with grandmother and grandfather who were with us. He was 2 and 4 on our last two trips and was just too tuckered out to make it! Hopefully next year he will be 6 and will make it!
Keep checking the Special Events Listing on the Disney World Site www.disney.com for the dates. I know tickets for 10/31 go fast, but they have it at least eight or ten other nights.
How do I get to the the site where I can buy costumes on Mouse Planet?? That sounds awesome!
