Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

What started out as DH saying "I wonder what they do at Halloween" has become our must do time of year! This will be our 13th year. The MNSSHP is great. The characters are "in costume", the parade (especially the headless horseman) and fireworks are fantastic. There is dancing with villians at Fantasyland, trick or treating, the HM cast members can add a little "extra". Loved the "dead" group singing Ghost Riders in the Sky. MK really takes on a different atmosphere. Love seeing all the kids in costumes and there are been some really great adult costumes also.
Tickets usually go on sale in May. To us, well worth the extra ticket.

So I am trying to plan a big family trip to WDW at the end of September through the beginning of October. Anyway, I saw something about the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that happens about the time we will be there. Has anyone gone to this? Is it worth it? How much are/were the tickets? Do they close the park down early for this event? My kids will be 3.5 and 2 when we go down there and don't know if it's even worth looking at as they are so young, but thought I would get some idea about what it's about. Any feedback would be appreciated. Don't know if this is up somewhere else or if this is the right place to post but I am new to the boards so forgive me.

It seems to a great way to spend out time. So just go ahead and have fun
