Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Questions

Do most people wear costumes to this party?

I'd say it's about 25-33% of guests wear some kind of a costume from full blown to just a wig or face paint of some kind. That doesn't include the people that wear special Halloween t-shirts, hats, buttons or things like that. Probably about half of the guests have something Halloween-y on.

We absolutely loved MNSSHP and will be definatley booking again for this year when we return in October.

We ate at LTT and in hide sight wish we had'nt. Our ADR was for 4.30pm but they were running about 40 minutes late, no idea why as MK that night was very quiet, but you can feel the atmosphere outside and we were all just desperate to get outside and start enjoying the night. My thoughts for this year is to eat either at our resort or make use of the CS.

Just another quick point to note, my DS6 has a really severe peanut allergy and nearly every sweet given out at the trick or treat stalls included peanuts:scared1:. We are over careful to ensuring he never eats anything which could bring him harm, but I thought I would just point this out as little hands love to start peeling off wrappers and enjoying the treats as soon as they can.;);)

Thanks for posting this. We are going to our first MNSSHP-this Oct and our DS-11 has severe peanut allergies, also. Thanks for the heads up on this one!

We're looking at going this year for the first time. What phone number should I call to get tickets? I am aware they are available starting May 1st.

I am interested in getting this number too. Does anyone have it handy to post.

Also does anyone know why Friday , Oct. 30 is not on the list of dates
for the party. If its a late nite in the parks , and not a party nite , do they still have the halloween parade and fireworks , or are those only
shown during the Halloween party nites ?

thanks

You just call the main Disney number that you call for reservations or information. 407-W-Disney (407-934-7639).

I am just guessing but I think it's because Halloween falls on a Saturday this year so they (for the first time ever) are having a Halloween party on Saturday night. They are also having one on Sunday, November 1 as well. If they also had one on Friday, Octoboer 30, then there would be no weekend evening with the park open for regular guests, Wishes and Spectro.

I guess they had to decide which day to have a party; Friday or Sunday and they went with Sunday for a party and Friday regular opening hours for all guests.

I believe they will show Wishes on non party nights (and Spectro) but we'll know as it gets closer. One year about 2 years ago they showed Hallowishes every single night after October 15 but I don't believe they did that last year for whatever reason. So I think they will go back to the way it was; Hallowishes being exclusive to the parties.

They will definitely NOT show the Halloween parade on non-party nights. That is exclusive to the parties.

Hollowishes and the Halloween Boo to you parade is only shown at the Hard ticket Parties.

I cant imagine Magic Kingdom closing every night that weekend- Gotta keep it opened at least one night for people who dont go to the party

We are going for the first time this year. Can't wait. Can you tell me what the hours usually are? We are going in Sept. Are all the rides open or is it like early entry? How long is Space Mountain going to be down for?

thought i read it will be down til November.

Hours for the party are 7 til midnight but with the ticket you can get in at 4pm without spending a MYW ticket.

Rides are opened (i dont know it it is certain rides or not- never thought to ask that)

Most rides are open. Only things like Jungle Cruise, HOP, Tiki Room and Swiss Family are closed.

When the pic of the candy was posted I was really disappointed that there are items with peanuts:scared1: So many kids have nut allergies, does WDW not know that:confused3
We are going to the MNSSHP for the first time this year and I am going to have to convince a 6 year old that she can't have any of the candy, that is harder said than done, thanks alot WDW:mad::headache:

There is plenty of other things to do during MNSSHP that you could just skip the trick or treat lines. My SIL went with her 4 kids last year. One had a peanut allergy and the youngest has Juvenile Diabetes. Neither could have the candy. They did go through a couple of lines just to experience it. When they got back to the room, my SIL gave them the bags of prepared goodies she had for each of them that they were allowed. None of the kids brought their candy back (because of the nuts) and gave it to a young child before leaving the park. At 6, I am sure your daughter knows about her condition and should not blame Disney. This will be one of many situations that she will be a little different in handling. Skipping candy lines because a huge bag of safe candy is back at the room will allow you to enjoy the park and parade and all the fun available.

Sorry if it's been asked and answered, but I can't seem to find an answer - Is it Bring Your Own Bag? Do they have bags available for sale at the park?:confused3

They do have fancy bags you can buy at the park. You are also welcome to bring your own. But they do give out plastic bags for the event that work just fine.

To be honest it did surprise me finding the peanut items in the candy offered to the children, as we always feel so safe at WDW when it comes to eating in the restaurants.:)

Once we have advised the server of the allergy normally one of the chefs will come out and advise up what he would suggest been ok and items to avoid. A far better service than that what we receive back home in the UK.

I agree with the previous poster, MNSSHP is great fun, and to be honest the Trick or Treating is just a small fraction of the fun which is to be had on this evening. For us been from the England, Halloween is pity much just another day, and therefore all our children was really looking forward to experiencing the Trick or Treat element of the "Halloween Holiday", however my DS is extremely sensible regarding his allergy, to be fair all of his siblings are too and we therefore just enjoyed the evening and gave our sweets away whilst waiting for the Parade, which is probably the best parade to be seem IMO.

However, to all who have posted a reply to my initial post I am glad to have been able to offer you the advice from my past experience.:thumbsup2

Enjoy the evening

I'm sure there is alot to do but again I was shocked that WDW would have candy with nuts, there are so many candies that are nut free that they really don't need to use those.

My dd is very aware of her allergy and always asks if food has nuts in it before eating, but its always disappointing to her when she can't have it, especially since she LOVES chocolate. But that is a good point to bring her some treats from home and do it up in a halloween bag and she can have that instead, she would really appreciate it!

I am sure they just buy in bulk and it is mixed candy by the tons. We got very little that had nuts in it, however, because it was mixed in the bag my SIL said it was too chancey and it had to go. As a mom I am sure you worry all the time and it would be nice to vacation and not have to. I do understand and was not bashing you in any way. I was just hoping to add a possible solution to what can still be a great night for you all. I was also thinking that it being rather dark, if she had her own safe candy then you would not panic everytime you saw her popping a piece in her mouth. :scared1:
