Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Questions

They usually have more than one person handing out candy in each of the lines. It wouldn't be that difficult for Diesney to have a nut free side to the line. It would be very easy to do I think.

We'll also be attending our first MNSSHP this year (probably September 15) and are wondering if we should plan to go twice during our stay, so this thread is great!

We are also going to MNSSHP for the first time this fall. But we have previously been to the Pirate & Princess party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. I am the sort who likes to study the brochures ahead of time and look forward to every bit of the parties. So after leaving the Pirate & Princess party the first 2 times disappointed that I had missed SO much, I went back a third time and finally felt like I had seen it all.

So when we went to the Christmas party for the first time this year, we planned 2 nights from the start, and it was perfect. I relaxed and didn't feel like I was in a race to get it all done. And I didn't have to leave disappointed. It was just perfect. So we are definitely planning 2 Halloween party nights this year! (9/29 and 10/1) And on the up side, we get to plan 1 sets of costumes!

Let me correct that......... we get to plan TWO sets of costumes! Yeah!

Any one have any advice on how to meet snow white and the dwarfs without wasting the whole party?

When we did the P&P party years ago, we stood in line in Toontown for one of the rooms before the party started and got through shortly after 7pm.

Then last year when we did MVMCP we wanted to see Mickey. From reading the dis I thought Mickey was meeting in his house by the tree. We decided to hang out by his house starting around 6pm. DH and kids rode a few rides while I waited. I asked a CM and he said that Mickey was actually going to be meeting with Minnie in the Judges Tent. We went back and there were already 10-15 people in line. I was not convinced that this was correct. Dis members sometimes know more than CM!! Around 7pm I hung out towards the front of Mickey's house. When Miceky came out and went into his house, I was 3rd in line. My DH and the kids had to fight through the crowds to get to me. There was almost a riot from the others who were in the "front" of the line as they were now in the "back" of the line.

I want to get in line early for the dwarfs, but am not sure where I should get in line at. And how early should I get in line?

I'm going October 1st-15th, am considering a Tuesday party so it's quieter.

1 - Do you think the Tuesday after columbus day will be a lot busier that the tuesday before?

2 - Do we have to take our own bags for candy? Or do they hand them out?

Sounds like a pretty good time. I was thinking that my BF and I would go as Rogue and Wolverine from Xmen (the movie style costumes, definitely not the yellow spandex from the cartoons). I think its a good fit, I have red hair and the BF is well, naturally hairy. :lmao:

Do you think we'll get any fun loving flack from the CMs for being Universal characters?

I know that the tickets go on sale this Friday, May 1st, but what number should be called? What time do they open (is it 8 am EST)?

:confused3

When the pic of the candy was posted I was really disappointed that there are items with peanuts:scared1: So many kids have nut allergies, does WDW not know that:confused3
We are going to the MNSSHP for the first time this year and I am going to have to convince a 6 year old that she can't have any of the candy, that is harder said than done, thanks alot WDW:mad::headache:

My kids and I looked at the pic - the only thing we saw with peanuts was what looked to possibly be a Clark Bar? :confused3 Hopefully they'll not have those this year.

We were at the Halloween party at DL this last year and they had carrots, raisins, dried apple & pear slices. Do they have those at MNSSHP? We found the carrots and the dried fruit to be quite yummy and refreshing after all of the chocolate!

Believe me in the candy they were handing out when we was there this past October I'm sure there was more candy with Peanuts in than without

Also we never saw anything other than candy, I agree dried fruit would be a refreshing change :thumbsup2

While fruit would be nice, I suppose, remember what you thought of the houses that passed out raisins???? No thanks. Not for Halloween.

And with the peanuts. Do you expect them to pay another person at each TOT stop just to hand out peanut free stuff to your kids? I don't understand why you can't go thru the candy just like you would if you went trick or treating door to door. I have some allergies too. I don't expect others to change their lives to suit mine. I'm the minority. I have to take care of myself.

:sad2: Sorry for the rant. I really am. I just had to get it off my chest.

How about fun stuff? I still haven't read many costume ideas!:hippie:

My fiance and I are considering this!

I have been thinking of costumes as well for my family. I could not imagine wearing that beast costume in Sept when we are going. Try to think about the temperatures in the 90s and dress accordingly.

Lady Godiva would at least be cool temperature wise :rotfl2:

We went in 07'. It was really better than we expected, kids had a blast. We loved the parade. DD dresses as Alice in Wonderland, and there were more Alice characters out that night. Had her picture with the Queen of hearts, white rabbit.
Would do it again if we have the chance.

I'm the only one in my group (that I know of) that is planning to dress up. I'm really thinking of going as a :hippie:!!! Jeans and shirt, sandals, still cool and comfy. I haven't come up with anything Disney that would be easy, cheap, cool and comfy, lol!!!:lmao:

Sorry but I really do feel the need to reply here.

I do not, and have never expected anyone to change their lives to suit mine, which is why I made the decision to avoid the TOT lines.

I made the original post to purely warn other parents with children with nut allergys of what they should expect at the MNSSHP.

However I am not sure how severe your allergies are, but I think until you experience seeing a child in Anaphylactic shock, knowing, as in my case, that you have so many minutes to save your childs life purely through them accidently eating a peanut product, suggesting that Disney should nt consider changing these TOT lines to me seems ridiculous.

No one has suggested Disney employing extra CM's at the TOT lines to hand out nut free candy, but seen as there are normally more than 2 CM's at the TOT lines, would it really be that hard to have one with and one without nuts :confused3

And thats my rant over too

I'm just guessing but I'll bet Bagheera23608 may be referring to this post:

Not sure if that's the case or not but I happen to agree with Bagheera23608. :thumbsup2

Eeek! I don't want to see this turn into a peanut and tree nut debate, so....

Who has good ideas for Halloween costumes that won't have us passing out from the heat in September? Here were are last year in October at Disneyland - and we were hot then! - so not many of these costumes will work at WDW! :faint:

I'm thinking maybe characters from Hercules; especially for us 3 gals. Anyone have any patterns?
