Okay, back to the real reason we are here, Disney for Halloween.

So far we don't have any real firm plans other than the Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party *MNSSHP*

But we have a few *wishes*

Restaurants

I really want to try the Hollywood Brown Derby and take advantage of the Fantasmic Dinner Package.

Earl of Sandwich has yummy sandwiches
'Ohana makes a great family style Dinner

Pizzafari
Tusker House Breakfast

Tutto Italia
Sunshine Seasons for lunch

We had breakfast at Kona Cafe on our last trip and it was yummy!
We would also like to try breakfast at Crystal Palace

Rides
Despite our frequent trips we haven't ridden everything in the parks.
Abby has requested a trip down Splash Mountain. She says she may even try Expedition Everest. Ron is the only one in our family who has ridden that. We haven't ridden Test Track together before, Ethan wasn't tall enough so we did the baby swap. Abby thought it was a little intense and would only ride it once.
There are a few shows we haven't seen also. We haven't seen Country Bear Jamboree or Sheriff Woody's Cowboy Camp. I would love to watch a few of the movies in the World Showcase. We have seen Festival of the Lion King and Nemo at Animal Kingdom and I would like to go back to at least one of those. We haven't seen the Indiana Jones show at DHS or the newly updated Playhouse Disney show. None of us have ridden Rock-n-Roller Coaster and Abby and Daddy rode Tower of Terror one time.

Shopping
We have bought pins before but we haven't done much trading, Abby and Ethan each traded one time on our last trip. Abby traded a princess pin for a Pirate Minnie Cutie. Ethan tried to trade for a Pirate Mickey Cutie but we had locking backs on the pins. We went to the jewelry shop to get one of the keys but they didn't have one. So the CM gave Ethan the pin anyways.
I would like to get the kids a starter kit each so they can do a little trading and keep the pins we have now.
We also have a few pressed pennies and we should find a penny book to put them in.

How'd you guess that we wanted pictures?? :goodvibes

They are lovely!

I was looking over the shows you'd like to try and I noticed that you had "Woody's Cowboy Camp" on the list. I'm sorry to say that this street show is no longer being performed. :sad2:

Tricia and I are pretty much addicted to those silly pins, although she is the expert trader in the family!

I highly recommend the Crystal Palace breakfast, especially if you can get a pre-park opening ADR! :thumbsup2 There's nothing quite like walking up a near-empty Main Street USA!

Hijack....

BigMama, what ever happened? Did you call about your party tickets???

Hope it worked out okay...

Kathy

YES I DID IT TOOK SOME DOIN BUT I GOT THEM TO CHANGE THE DATE FOR ME ! THANKS FOR ASKING HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME :thumbsup2

Is it too early to start shopping for an October trip?

A couple weeks ago I had some GymBucks that were about to expire. The kids didn't really need any summer clothes. But I didn't want to waste a good coupon for Gymboree. Their clothes are cute and durable and they fit my kids well. So I went online and found some cute shirts for Ethan for the trip.

I stuck with the pirate:pirate theme and I got a shirt with a neat pirate ship, a skull and cross bones and Ethan's favorite creature a crocodile. (Think Tick Tock Crock from Peter Pan) I also got one pair of shorts.

When they came I quickly packed them away in Ethan's suitcase. I need to snap a couple pictures.'

Then last week, I was in Target and I walked through their Dollar section. They had some adorable Nemo and Little Mermaid items. Stickers, activity books, bubbles a lot of fun stuff! I picked up some of them to take on the trip as "Tinker Bell" Gifts.

They are hidden away in a suitcase too.:rolleyes1

Like many of my fellow DisBoarders, our family has made numerous trips to WDW. On previous trips we have sometimes skipped either Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. So, we have only managed to watch Fantasmic! one time. On our most recent trip we planned to see it only to be disappointed due to large crowds. We don't buy hopper tickets so were unable to return to the park to see the show.

This time I have a plan though. . . Fantasmic Dinner Package:smickey: The only flaw in my plan is that it is too early to reserve it. Park Hours for October aren't out, so I can't even plan for the appropriate day. I can only wait.

I did come up with a basic plan for each ADR I picked restaurants we haven't tried along with a few old favorites. I pick restaurants in the park we are planning on being at or in a nearby resort.

Here's what I have so far:
Arrival Day
Downtown Disney for dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express

Magic Kingdom Day
Crystal Palace Breakfast before Park Opening, and 'Ohana for Dinner

Halloween and MNSSHP
Breakfast at Kona Cafe and dinner at El Pirate and El Perico

Epcot Day
Lunch in England (Fish and Chips) Dinner at Tutto Italia

Disney Hollywood Studios
Lunch at Flatbread Grill Dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby with Fantasmic Dinner Package

Animal Kingdom Day
Breakfast at Tusker House, Lunch at Yak N Yeti Counter Service, and Dinner at Downtown Disney Earl of Sandwich.

I have been searching for a new pair of sandals, I am really picky about shoes, I like good quality that lasts and is comfortable. Not frilly or fancy but usually leather so I can dress them up. I read about Keen shoes and sandals here on the Dis and they get good reviews. I received an email from a website where I have ordered shoes before and they are going out of business so are offering some great deals. But no returns or exchanges.
I found a pair of Keen Venice sandals on their site for $59.99 but since I haven't tried them on I decided not to take a chance.

Today I got an email from them again saying 40% off and $2.99 shipping. They still had the sandals in stock in my size! So I ordered them for a steal! $38.99 including shipping! I can't wait til they come and I hope they fit!

The website is ShoeTrader.com

I know what you mean about having to wait for those park hours! It's always a bit of a headache for me because we vacation at the beginning of the month and so our ADR window usually opens before I get our park hours! :headache:

Great bargain on the sandals... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will fit well and be comfy!!

Sent you a PM about our Meet!!

Bump...

(Just what do you think you're doing back on page five, young lady?)
Let's do a little posting, shall we?

Kathy

Ethan had a birthday so I have been busy making his outfit and planning his party.

Here is the outfit, it has Walk the Plank on the shirt, and Captain Hook and the Tick-Tock Croc on the shorts.

My sandals came! They fit perfectly, and I love:love: to wear them they are really comfortable. I highly recommend Keen footwear. Now DD wants a pair! I need to find another good deal.:thumbsup2

Ha! Love the birthday "theme" outfit!! :thumbsup2

So glad the sandals are comfy... Of course, we will need a picture, so you better get a pedicure! Are they good for someone with high arches (like me)??

Kathy

They are great sandals for high arches, they provide very good support. If I don't wear good shoes I get really painful heels so I love them.

No need for a pedicure because they have a closed toe. So without further ado here is a photo of my :scared: feet...

Very artfully done... you may have a future in foot photography!! :goodvibes

So glad you got some shoes that are comfy... that is so important!

While planning our trip I was aiming for dates that included the Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party.

Little did I know that as a bonus I would get the Food and Wine Festival. I am really looking forward to this special event. Apparently it lasts quite a while, and so if you have a trip booked anywhere from Sept. 25 until Nov. 8 you can enjoy it. The special kiosks will be a great way to snack around the world!:lmao:

Which leads me to think about snack credits and the Disney Dining Plan. We are big fans of the Dining Plan. We enjoyed free Dining back in Sept. of 2006, but the hot weather made it unbearable. I am hoping the end of October will offer us a much better weather experience. Our trip is booked and is mostly paid for, but I am still hoping for a special like free dining. The anticipation is killing me though. . . It is also causing me to question the dates I selected. We have our tickets for MNSSHP already so I can't change the dates too much. But if they were to offer free dining through Oct. 28 then I would have to back up our arrival date to take advantage of it. I have heard on the Dis that some folks are receiving special "Pin Code" offers for free dining through October. I am hoping they offer free dining to Disney Visa Holders next.

Well, we are heading to the beach for a little trip so I have to get some more stuff packed.

It's 99 days until our trip now!:cool1:

Now you would think I would be a little more excited and yesterday I was very excited. But what a difference a day makes!~~ I was speaking with my Sister-in-law and now I am scared that I may not have a job.

I work at a Mother's Morning out Program at a church. I have worked there for 1 1/2 years now. Over the summer we are on break. At the end of the year the director was concerned about enrollment for this fall. She said that she would keep us according to seniority and those of us who had been there longer would have jobs.

Now I have learned that two ladies who haven't been there as long as I have have jobs and my position is in jeopardy. So I am really scared about that and disappointed that she isn't keeping her word about seniority. :sad1:

If you are out there reading please post and say hi! It would help lift my spirits. I really could use some prayers and pixie dust.

I just got off the phone with Disney!!

The CM scared me for a minute, she thought that the pirate rooms at CBR weren't part of the deal.:scared1: But she was wrong and everything worked out.

:dance3::dance3::dance3:

How cute is that!! :goodvibes

I especially love the red and white checked tablecloth... what a great touch!

Funny how different things are in our respective geographic areas... tomorrow is the LAST day of Billy's summer school and then he doesn't go back until after Labor Day! :upsidedow

How about making Australian food favs for your Nemo Night??

Put another shrimp on the barbie...

Kathy

I had to come to your trip report to thank you! I saw your post on Kathy's ptr with the free dining codes, we are staying at POP and I called to get the free dining, but upgrade to the basic plan and was told I couldn't. Then I saw your post, so I called back and got it :) THANK YOU!!!!!!!

We went to the MNSSHP on the 31st in 2005 and while it's probably more crowded then some of the earlier events, it was completely managable - I didn't think twice, because it was our first party. The only lines are for some of the characters, rides are still short waits. And we had good views for the parade too. We got stuck behind the castle that night for the fireworks, but that was just poor planning on my part.
