Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central!

crusader,

Any comments in the 2004 Unofficial (is that out already? Yeesh.) must be based on 2001/2002. This year there are almost twice as many MNSSHP nights, starting on 10/3 (we'll be there for the DIS meet!). While Halloween will always be busy, the doubling of nights should drain off some of the excess - I know that we were planning on a second-half-of-Oct. trip just for MNSSHP until we saw the early Oct. dates.

I've ordered our tickets for October 26. We've never done MNSSHP and are looking forward to it!

Funny note: We're already working on our costumes -- especially 8 yo DD. She thought about being a witch but then re-thought things because she didn't want to be too scary for the Not So Scary party. We'll be sewing a not so scary costume pretty soon (I have to start now to have it done by then!).

Wow lots of questions! I've been out of town for a bit...not to WDW though! :(

Some I see have been answered but here's what I think hasn't or I have more to add.;)

kilee and chellnjr... Counter service that has been opened in the past are:

MAIN STREET
Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
Main Strret Bake Shop
Casey's Corner

FRONTIERLAND
Turkey leg Cart
Pecos Bill Cafe
Westward Ho Refreshments

LIBERTY SQUARE
Sleepy Hollow

FANTASYLAND
Pinocchio Village Haus
Scuttle's Landing

TOMORROWLAND
Auntie Gravity's Galactic Goodies
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
The Lunching Pad
Cool Ship

rjjr....when people write that they are going around 6pm for the MNSSHP, does that mean that they are able to get in with ONLY the hard MNSSHP ticket at that time? Yes MNSSHP ticket ONLY at 6pm! :)

RedNeckChik13...First of all do you have to be in costume to get candy. No

And second of all, where is the picture takenAdventureland outisde PoC...Liberty Square outside Hall of Pres....Tomorrowland.....across from Alien Encounter. and is it better to get it early in the evening or later because the crowd thins out?? We've done it both but I think it was better first thing. We got right in.

Also is it better to eat at one of the resturaunts or should we just go to one of the counter service places??
We've always eaten dinner BEFORE we go to MNSSHP,hate to waste the party and ride time eating! Sometimes when we stayed off site we had a kitchen and I'd bring something to heat up for that evening. We usually get some sort of snack during the night while at the party.

ILOVEDVC...Just to clarify, as I'm reading through these posts, since I will have a UPH ticket, I can be in the MK prior to dinner, get my wristband (where do I go for this??? Confused) and then go to dinner, and be in the MK for the party at 7. Am I correct?Yes you ARE correct...I am not getting EXACT locations from Disney at this time but I've been told "there will be various location throughtout the MK that afternoon" to obtain your wristbands.:)

Shooby doo...cool!!! Here's a link to a fantastic list of the menus throughout ALL of WDW!!! http://wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm

This is also our anniversary does anyone know of anything that I can arrange as a surprise? If you're making PS I'd tell them. Then when in WDW the day before your PS I'd call dining and remind them again that there's an anniversary for that PS.

crusader...I totally agree with DrTomorrow,WDW has MANY more parties this year although in my opinion the Oct 30 and 31st will be crowded as usual.I agree somewhat with DISNEY GUEST,though we've always gotten plenty of great ride time in during MNSSHP!

Sandi...I told my son,Erich, he has until Sept 1 then I MUST know exactly what he wants to go as.Mommy needs 6 weeks to work on his costume! In years past I'd have it started by now! He's getting older and has more of an opinion now! :p

My 2 boys wil lprobably go as Anakin or some other Start Wars character. Do you think those plastic lasers would be considered a weapon? Disney is kind of vauge on that. I don't care if they get taken away, as long as we can pick them back up when we leave.
I hate to take them- I know I will get stuck carrying them!

I did the MNSSHP last year on November 1st and loved it! It's great to see some of the costumes people come up with and to trick-or-treat around the park. I especially liked it when the witch flew down before the fireworks. My favorite part of the whole night was how they piped in the Haunted Mansion music throughout the park and had pumpkins/orange lighting/smoke throughout the Magic Kingdom. It was really magical and just the right amount of spookiness!! The crowds are not too overwhelming and getting the photo taken does not always require a long line if you go later in the night. Everyone going this October--- have fun and enjoy! I wish I were going back this year!!!

sln88...no those won't be taken away. They sell the plastic multi color ones in the park.

chellnjr...yes lockers are available.

Thank you! Now, do you happen to know if you had a locker during the day if you have to pay for it again or is it like when you go from park to park and you just show your receipt?

Baloo I really do want to thank you for taking the time to answer all of the questions, even if they have already been asked 10 times! :)

chellnjr...here's what I found out.:)

When you get your locker that day at MK tell them you'll be staying for MNSSHP.They usually clear ALL the lockers at closing before the party but might be able to make a note of this locker.

Or you can bring your receipt from the day's locker and see if they'll let you have a locker for MNSSHP.

The CM I taked to and I both agree it can't hurt to ask because there's no "set" policiy...we think it will depend on what CM you happen to be dealing with that day!

Thanks chellnjr..that's what I'm here for even though sometimes it seems like a 100 times!!! ;) :p

ok a few more questions from a newbie

When everyone gets ushered into fantasyland are those rides open for those guests?

What is the AP pre-party? Where is this and when?

I got a PS for the castle for 5:30. I only did this to get in early. Since you are allowed in at 6pm or can stay if already there i'm thinking of of cancelling it and just getting some counter service food before 6pm as not towaste any time. Sound correct?

Finally is it true that you can get a photo for each ticket in your party? If we are 5 people and wanted 5 different photos of the family.. that can be done?

Baloo...what a great job you're doing with this forum. THANKS

I asked this question myself someplace and was told that yes, each ticket came with a picture. So for our party of 8 (my family of 4 + my sister's family of 4) we plan to get a group shot of all 8 of us, a pic of my family, a pic of her family, a group shot of the 4 kids, and an individual of each child. (or something like that :) - but we WILL decide before we get to the front of the line, though ;) )

Laurie :)

With regard to the question on photos for every ticket, when we did the Christmas Party a couple of years ago, I believe it was a photo for each address. My sister was there with me and my DD. We had a photo mailed to her in MN and one to us in MI. I suppose you could have photos sent to a work address or something, but I wanted you to be aware of that.

Baloo - my hat's off to you. This is a great resource and you're doing a great job. Thanks

Are discounted tickets available for FL residents or Annual Passholders?

I think it's ONE picture taken but copies sent to all the different addresses in the party - but I could be wrong

I'm getting such conflicting information on this picture thing it's driving me batty!

I've talked to at least 3 different CMs and gotten 3 different answers......grrrrrrrrrrr!

Let me see if I can sort this out for y'all!

1.The way it was when my Mom went with us and we wanted more than one photo.ONE group picture was taken that night and sent to one address. When the photo came in the mail there was a place to send for copies for about $5 a photo.I made a copy at Walmart though!:p

2.One CM I talked to told me ONE picture per group.Same as I exprienced.

3.Another told me it was ONE picture per group but EACH person could get a photo sent to them.

4.Another said ONE picture per group .A photo sent to each DIFFERENT address...like Sandi said happened with her and her Sis at MVMCP.

lauri31....there are no individual shots. This would make the line at the picture areas so long and take so much time that all the party goers wouldn't get a picture taken that night.Sorry. :(

So here's what I make of it all!!!
You get ONE photo PER GROUP.The photo can be sent to people in the group who have DIFFERENT addresses.

I'll keep checking as the weeks go by and see if I can get a straight, or at least a few ,answers that match! ;)

:earsboy:WELCOMEto the DIS PaintedStuff and Mr.Mike!:earsboy:

Mr.Mike....whatever land they usher you into there will be rides open.:) If it was me,I'd go for counter service!

PaintedStuff... there aren't any dicounts.Sorry.:(

Ordered our tix for the party! had them sent to my home address - worth the $3 fee instead of having to pick them up at the gate. Did it when I (finally) made our hotel reservations.

I guess I'm going to DisneyWorld! Whoo Hoo! (and BOO! re Halloween in the MK!)

Thanks so much! I would have been really disappointed if I hadn't found this out 'til the night of the party. It does make sense about the line being way too long. I can always make posed pics of the girls individually with my own camera somewhere at the party :) I'm sure I'll get some great candids of them with the characters as well :Pinkbounc
