Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central!

The Headless Horseman, if I remember correctly, appears during the last parade of the night. He appears first in Frontierland and cuts a path through the MK. It's truly cool. But pay close attention as he's very fast and it's the only chance you'll get to see him.
Another great thing about MNSSHP for all you pin traders out there....the Halloween pins. We got some really nice NB4C ones last year. And the Headless Horseman slider pin was the best. They had a cart set up outside the Haunted Mansion that had most of the Halloween pins but we found the best selection at the photo shop on Main Street. They do go really quickly though. We get a kick out of wearing all our Halloween pins that night. Most glow in the dark. It just adds another great addition to an already fun party.
Please let me know if I can answer any of your ?'s about MNSSHP. I could talk about it for hours lol. - Nancy

The Headless Horseman makes his ride about 5 minutes before each parade.I believe he rides the whole parade route.

I agree it's totally cool and quite spooky!!!

You are very welcome Twingle. Have a great time.

Another fun thing they just added a couple years ago is the Liberty Square Riverboat ride.It use to be closed during the party but now you can board for a spooky fun cruise. The Country Bears were on there signing autographs and posing for pictures. The CMs were handing out treats.A blue grass band played a couple tunes and then a genuine southern belle...ghost...told us a haunted tale. The CM that night was great! Really into her character.(Not too scarey for little ones.) The boat is decorated with pumpkins and cornstalks and spider webs. You cruise on past the HM for great view of it at night.

So I guess the Mansion isn't the only thing that's haunted in the MK in October! :)

I missed the boat ride, I'll be sure to do that this year. THanks!

If you feel like you're too old or just don't want to dress in costume for MNSSHP I have great luck the past couple years finding Disney themed Halloween t-shirts in my local Kmart. At WDW I have seen commemorative t-shirts for the MNSSHP.I also like to pick up the MNSSHP button and it only costs about $2.00.A cheap souvenir of your Halloween fun!

My MNSSHP tix came today. The paper with them mentioned specifically trick or treating and the parade and it said "and More." I hope the "More" still includes a photo. Can anyone confirm the photo?

Well I just got off the phone with ressies at WDW and Belle basically had the same info that you have in your tickets. Then she transferred to Special Events and Lynna had the same info!!! It doesn't say family photo but they both were sure that the complimentry photo would be a part of MNSSHP!

I'm not promising anything but I really think it's still part of it!

Here's a link to the information we have about MNSSHP here at the DIS.This info DOES include photo.

Our family of five will be attending the party this fall. I have a question on costumes. We are thinking about having t-shirts made up with face cards on the front (a full house Kings over Queens, 3 males and 2 females). Will we have to worry about being cold the first week of October? Any other ideas would be welcome. Thank you.:jester:

Thanks, Baloo! I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't include a photo.

Welcome to the DIS Disneycamper5! :)

If you follow this link and scroll to the bottom of that page you'll find a long post from me on costumes.http://disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=373897&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

I've been in mid to late Oct. and it's usually short sleeved weather or light jacket.I've been chilly but NEVER cold on Oct.evening at WDW! Now late nov. to Dec., that's another story!

Hi Everyone,

We are first timers...but I thought I would pass along a good idea that we had for anyone that is going with extended family! We are going to be in WDW October 1-8. The first night, Oct.3rd, the entire family is going to the Halloween Party. October 5th, my DH and I are leaving the kids with my mom and going to the Halloween Party by ourselves. This way, we get a night to ourselves and get to ride the rides with no wait. Our kids are 2 and 1...so this is our chance to do the more "adult" rides. We are very excited and I thought I would pass the tip on..we like to think of it as our own e-ride night, since Disney doesn't seem to have those in October. Hope this helps!

PS. Since this is our first time we are all dressing up! We are very excited!! :Pinkbounc

Hey paperboy / paperboy's wife!

Good advice; we're going to be there Oct 1-8 also, and we are going to both MNSSHPs too. On the 3rd, just the two of us are going, and on the 5th, just the two of us are going again - we're new empty-nesters! woo hoo!

I think that we'll have some costumes (we are big Halloween fans) but we're treating these nights as e-ride nights, so we can be in the MK 'till MIDNIGHT! :bounce:

Hi paperboy'swife! Welcome to the DIS!! :)

Dr.T and PBW that's a terrific idea especially with the age of your children! I'm not sure Joe and I could get away with that...our boys are 9 and 10! I think we might hear ALOT of Hallo-whining from them!:p

What is the earliest you can get into MK for the MNSSHP with the MNSSHP ticket only?

Also, I read that the characters at LTT will be dressed in Halloween gear. Is this true for the characters at crystal palace too?

Do we just call the WDW phone number for advance ticket sales? Do you think they are available yet?
:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Yes, you can call Disney and order your tickets now; they've been on sale by phone for several weeks.

Or, I've heard that they are now available on-line, too. Haven't checked that out myself, but it's been posted on another thread.

And from one Donna to another . . . welcome to the DIS !!

I'm really confused.
Does the park close early on these nights? Is it open only to people with MNSSHP tickets? What about if you have Ultimate Park Hopper passes for that day? I didn't even know about this when I booked our vacation during October. If we don't buy tickets for MNSSHP, will we have to leave the park at 6?

This is our first time in October too. From what I understand, the park closes at 5 or 6 and everyone that is not holding a ticket for the MNSSHP has to leave. The Ultimate park hopper is not good during these times. I think Epcot and Mgm have their normal hours..only Magic Kingdom closes early on those nights. Hope this helps answer your questions.
