This is our first time in October too. From what I understand, the park closes at 5 or 6 and everyone that is not holding a ticket for the MNSSHP has to leave. The Ultimate park hopper is not good during these times. I think Epcot and Mgm have their normal hours..only Magic Kingdom closes early on those nights. Hope this helps answer your questions.

Hi,
The MK usually closes at this time during October anyway. If I remember correctly it's 6:00pm. This is the off-season and all the parks close fairly early with the exception of Epcot. If you get a chance and it's within your budget, try out MNSSHP. The MK stays open till midnight on the event days and it's a really good time. October weather is great, lines are short and everything's less crowded and hurried. I wouldn't go any other time (well, maybe if it was free and someone twisted my arm ;) ). Have a great time. - Nancy

WillAndFinn'sMom...this is a special ticket event so yes you will have to leave the MK if you party doesn't have MNSSHP tickets. Here are the prices for 2003.

Ticket prices are as follows:

At the Gate... Adult... $32.95 Children (3-9) $27.95

In Advance...Adult... $29.95 Children (3-9) $24.95

kilee...I believe the earliest you can get in with a MNSSHP ONLY ticket is 6p.m.I haven't eaten in CP during the party but I think I remember seeing Piglet throught the windows as a flower one year.

Hadjii and Baloo,

Thank-you so much for all the info. My DF lives in Flordia so we are buying him a ticket to come the the MNSSHP on the 3rd. I was going to do Chef Mickeys so my DF could get his ticket, but if we can get into the park at 6pm..maybe we'll do Crystal Palace....decisions decisions;)

I have a question:confused:

My Ds turns 3 on October 6th and we are there from October 1-8. Disney knows...it's on our Reservations and everything. My question is that we would like to celebrate his b-day with my DF the night of the 3rd at Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. I don't mind paying for him if that means they'll celebrate it..but money wise, I need to prepare for that. Has anyone celebrated a 3yo b-day a couple of days before and did you need to show proof that he was still 2 or should I just plan on paying? Any info would be great. Thanks

Hi PW,
We did this just this past October. We took our two year old niece and fudged on her actualy birthday a little because we wouldn't be at WDW on her day. We just went to City Hall in the MK and told them it was her birthday. They were super nice and never asked for "proof". They gave her a little birthday badge that we pinned to her stroller which got her extra special attention from CM's, characters, etc. It made her whole day. Then when we got back to our room that night, there was a signed photo of the Fab 5 posing in front of the castle, a pin and our plushies were holding a birthday baloon. How cool is that? That's exactly why we love WDW so much. They definitely went above and beyond to make a little girl's trip special. I wouldn't worry about them asking for anything. Make sure your birthday boy wears his pin if he's not stroller size. Most of the restaurants we went to brought out a special dessert or something special once they saw the pin on DN. And believe me, we went to EVERY character meal in the parks lol. The CM's were fantastic at all of them. Especially Boma. What a bunch of sweeties. Well, have a great trip. - Nancy

We will be there 10/25 through 11/1 and would like to go one of the nights MNSSHP is on (but not Hallowe'en). To get the "advance purchase" price, does that mean you can buy it at your resort a day or so in advance or do the tickets need to be ordered before you get to your resort? We'll want to play the weather and stuff.

Thanks

Sandi I really wouldn't risk waiting to buy tickets when you get there because of the week you're going to be there.MNSSHP is VERY POPULAR!

Advance purchase means any time before actually being at the TTC on the night of the party you've chosen to attend.Yes you can purchase them at your resort.

Ok Baloo, you've convinced me. I've done the Christmas Party before, but it sounds like the Hallowe'en Party is a bigger deal. Now I have to pick my day.

(BTW, I was talking about you at lunch today with a Disboard friend. You moderator people are so nice! And, you always have answers. Thanks.)

hi, can anyone please tell me the time of the parades and fireworks? thanks

hi, can anyone please tell me the time of the parades and fireworks?

They haven't posted the park hours yet for October. But check out www.DisneyWorld.com every once in awhile. They post the fireworks and parade schedules there. - Nancy

hi again. thanks for your reply, nancy. i should have made myself more clear. i was asking for parade times and fireworks times during the MNSSHP only. any rough ideas of the times when you went? thanks

There are 2 MNSSHP parades. They run at 8:30pm and another at 10:30pm.About 10 minutes prior to parade time is when the Headless Horseman makes his ride down the parade route.

Halloween Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks is a 9:15pm.Be sure to get a good view of Cindy's Castle because you never know who might be flying overhead!

How busy does the MNSSHP parade route get? Do you have to stake out your spot outrageously early like you have to do for Spectromagic? Or can you get a good one 15 minutes before the parade starts?

Thanks, Karen

Does anyone have any good costume ideas for DH and myself? We have no kiddies at this time, but we really enjoy Halloween. I am willing to try anything costume-wise, but DH might not be so willing. All suggestions are appreciated!

I have to figure out the countdown thingy!

My Dh and I are matching our kids. My Ds2 told me that he wanted to be Mickey Mouse and Mommy be Minnie Mouse...so that is what we are doing. My DH is going as a prince and our Dd1 is going as belle. DH would go as the beast, but the costume would be too warm for him in Flordia. Where we live, Halloween is cold, so this Halloween we are all going as Pooh characters..but too hot in Flordia for that.

I heard one family was going as the Flintstones and one family is going as the Jackson 5.

I would suggest just to make sure your costumes aren't too hot and see what your Dh is comfortable wearing. Mine specifically told me he didn't want anything over his face...no masks or make-up. He also doesn't want to spend a ton of money on costumes...since I am a stay at home mom...I have the time to shop around for cheaper costumes.

I hope this helps.

Have a GREAT time!!!!:jester:

Snow White is Dreaming...we usually watch the second parade somewhere in Frontierland.I'd say stake your place out about 15 to 20 min prior and you'll be okay! :)

lissawynn...how about one of the Princesses and her Prince? If the tights thing makes him shudder
SHOCKED.gif
how about Pochantas and John Smith? Mulan and Mushu!! Dalmations Puppies...super easy to do.You don't have to do Disney either. How about a witch and wizard? Dressing as Pirates is a fun and easy to get around in costume.Or he's a pirate and you're Tinkerbell....ack...I can't get Disney ideas outta my mind!!!:p Cowboys...soldiers...hippies...Star Wars characters.Dexter and DeeDee.Shaggy and Scooby or Daphne.

I make all our costumes too... I just LOVE to do that.:) A ball cap and craft foam or felt can be turned into all sorts of creatures faces!! I just made an elephant costume for Erich's school play last month.I was happy to make that because he and Jonathan want to be a Black Ninjas for MNSSHP this year...waaaaaah....not to much creativity in that !!:( Well I guess I should be happy they still want to dress up.I'll really be :( :( when they don't anymore!

Happy Haunting!

We are arriving at WDW on 10/25 and will be there until 11/1. I am having a hard time deciding which night to buy tickets for. I have 3 little ones (2, 5 and 7). Will 10/30 be as crowded as 10/31? Would it be best to go on Sunday 10/26? I would love to go on 10/31 as it would be our last night, or even 10/30, but I'm thinking it will be a lot less crowded on 10/26. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

We have a group of 8 going (6 adults- 1-10yr old 1-16month old). We are trying to rack our brains for easy, lightweight group related costumes. Any ideas?????

I'm sure MNSSHP tickets are non-refundable, but are they transferable?
I'd like to make plans to go but my father is not well. I couldn't go if, God forbid, things take a turn for the worse.... but if I get tickets and can't go, could I give them away or sell them? Anyone know? Also, does the party go on if it rains?
