Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Central 2004!!!!!! =0)

thanks for the info. i checked two different sites and did not see times of the special events. glad you remembered from being there before.

i am a planner, well, ok, a commando touring type of gal. this way i now can adjust my schedule.

There will be 2 parades at each MNSSHP. Figure the fireworks to go 20 minutes. So depending on where you want to watch them I think would depend on getting a good spot in Liberty Square for the pre-story.

I was just at Old Navy and they had a bunch of longsleeved t-shirts....They were cheap and cute but I keep thinking it will be hot at night...What will the temperatures at night be anyway? My DS will be Woody (Long sleeves) and my DD will be Snow White (short sleeves) Am I going to need a sweater for my DD or should I find a short sleeved yellow top for my DS....??? Such wildly important questions I know! LOL :D

kilee, how is the story done? Could we go ahead and pick a spot for the parade and story in one spot? Or do you need to get very near the Liberty Bell to hear them talk?
Anyone know how far out for the second parade and the story we would need to find a spot?

Can you see the witch from closer to the bridge before the fireworks? (We've always gone to the Tomorrowland bridge.)

Thanks!

What will the temperatures at night be anyway?

Last year we went on 10/31 and it was very humid all the way through midnight. My costume had capri length pants and a short sleeved shirt and I was really "sticky". I don't know if this is abnormally warm though. We are going again this year 10/1-- and our costumes consist of pretty much the same length pants and tank tops this time. I can add a long sleeved shirt to each if it gets chilly.

how is the story done? Could we go ahead and pick a spot for the parade and story in one spot? Or do you need to get very near the Liberty Bell to hear them talk?

I've never actually gone to the story. Other than doing the Haunted Mansion I avoided that whole area. This is just a reminder to everyone planning on doing the liberty bell that night (they have story tellers on board). BRING THE BUG REPELLENT. Last year there were lots of reports of people being "eaten alive" over in that general area. The mosquito's are still out in that area (I know around here we're heading out of the season). Needless to say I didn't want to be sitting near the water for the parade.

You could pack a long sleeve shirt or light weight cardigan just in case. But chances are, you won't need them unless some strange cold front comes through.
If you are from up north and are accustomed to cool fall days and evenings then you will more than likely be hot/sticky during October in Florida.
It usually doesn't get cool until late Dec - Feb, and even then we are talking mild weather compared to Northern weather.
Fall weather in Florida is comparable to the North's warmer summer days, in my opinion.

I'm trying to convince DW, DS6 and DS4 to go as "The Incredibles" -- the new Pixar movie coming out on Nov. 5 (just a few days after the 10/31 MNSSHP we're attending). I've attached a link to a picture of the costumes. They think I'm nuts and that no one is going to have any idea who The Incredibles are. If the movie is like the other Pixar movies, The Incredibles are going to be everywhere in 6-7 weeks and, besides, who cares if your costume is not immediately recognizable. What do you all think?http://disney.store.go.com/DSSectionPage.process?Merchant_Id=2&Section_Id=13812&Product_Id=167339

Go for it! My 8 year old loves to look at the Disney catalog when it comes in and has already told me she wants to be the Incredibles girl next Halloween since we already have our costumes for this year!

She wants all of us to dress in the Incredibles costumes but that just isn't going to happen!!:teeth:

I can't wait to see it and I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll show it on our Nov 4 - 7 cruise!

My only thought on the Incredibles was-- how hot do you think that costume would be? That's been my biggest challenge. Making it light enough for it being muggy again- but easily able to warm it up if it's chilly w/o loosing the "feel" of the costume.

Okay, I've read through about 20 pages of this thread and still haven't found my answer so if this is a repost please excuse me....but it's late and I'm tired :)

We will be going in less than 2 weeks and I've seen that some people say their tickets took longer than that. Is there anyway to order them now (we will be there 10-2 through 10-9) and pick them up there? And does anyone know the dates that are still open in that time frame?

Okay, and last question. This will be our first MNSSHP so please explain the reasoning behind PS bookings? I think I understand that if you have PS for a dinner they'll let you in the gate and then you stick around till the party starts at 7? But without dinner ressies you stay outside the gate till 7? I've seen some people saying that they get in after 4, but then also saw the post that say that anyone without a wrist band is escorted out by 7.

Thank you everyone for posting all the GREAT information. I've learned a lot in those pages of post I sifted through.....just didn't see exactly what I had questions on.

Hi Everyone!

Myself, DH, and DDs ages 6 and 4 will be at MNSSHP on 10/22. We have NEVER (never) seen any parades, fireworks or anything at MK, always been ready for a swim by 3pm and too tired at night.

SOOOOOOOO.................

Where should we go to watch the parades and fireworks on MNSSHP? I don't care about the headless horsemen (my kids won't get it and will be scared!). I just want them to be able to SEE everything in the parade!

If anyone can tell me where to head towards and what time to be there, I would like front row and a place to sit comfortably!

Thank You!

You can ask to pick up your tickets at the "will call booth", and they will be waiting for you at Guest Relations once you arrive.

This is our second MNSSHP. We have PS booked at LTT because the characters are in costume, and we'll be in Liberty Square when the party begins, instead of with the huge crowds at Tomorrowland. It's all about personal preference though. You will be able to get into the park around 4:00 with your MNSSHP tix, and when they start emptying the park, you can ride the rides in Tomorrowland. As I said, we like the sit down dinner, but if we hadn't been able to snag a PS for before about 5:45, we would have just chosen to eat fast food or before we entered the park.

Hope you have a great time!

With your MNSSHP ticket you will be allowed in the gates at 4pm-- w/ this ticket only (No need for a park hopper or anything else). It will not matter if you have a PS or not. The PS is just really a preference among many but not all. The meal at LTT is festive so many find it a good way to kick of the event. The people who are ushered out are people who were in the MK for the day and didn't have MNSSHP tickets. All people w/ MNSSHP tickets will get wristbands whether they have a PS or not.

Where should we go to watch the parades and fireworks on MNSSHP? I don't care about the headless horsemen (my kids won't get it and will be scared!).

The headless horseman will run the whole parade route. He's very quick though-- but if you think he'll scare your kids you need to be prepared that no matter where you sit, he'll go by. Now as to where to sit. This is really a matter of preference. I prefer Main St for the parade and fireworks. Some prefer Liberty Square as the tell the Headless Horseman story there prior to the parade. No matter where you go the second parade is usually easier to get a seat at than the first. However, if you don't think you'll make it very late then I'd just incorporate the first parade. The run something like 8 & 10 pm. With the fireworks around 9:15pm. To actually get a front row seat for the first parade you may have to be on the curb (especially Main St) within 45 min of the parade. If you are going to do the second-- then I'd find a standing spot for the fireworks in the general Main St vicinity around 8:50-9:00 then scoot to a parade spot at the end of the fireworks show.

That helps a lot! Main Street it is. If the parade starts in Liberty Square, where does it end? I think I would rather be towards the beginning of the parade, just becasue we can be departing earlier to do other things....

Can you believe that I am 32 years old and I have NEVER seen a Disney parade? I am more excited than the kids! :p

The parade ends in the front of the park. They take it through the wooden fence between the fire station and the Barbershop.

It probably goes a different way depending on the way it went for the first parade, yes?

A good idea would be to ask a CM which way the parade is going to run.

yes, that is true. Usually, the first parade goes TOWARD the entrance and the second parade comes FROM the entrance. That is how it was when I went last. But I guess it could vary each night?? Not 100% sure.

I have read most of the posts but cannot seem to find the answer to my questions: is there a logistical reason why everyone is trying to get PS at MK restaurants on the night of their MNSSHP tickets? We probably will not do MK during the day of our tickets so I wondered what would be the best time to arrive if the party begins at 7 pm? This is the first time for me and DH will expect me to know EXACTLY what to do and when!

Thanks all!

I don't think it's about logistics. It's just part of the experience. We have gone to the last 3 MNSSHP and will make it number 4 in about 4 weeks. It's a great way to start off the night. We plan on a 5:00-5:30 dinner time at LTT. The food is good and the characters are normally in costume. That way we are done with dinner and DS can enjoy all the rides, parade, and trick-or-treating without worrying about missing something. Whereever you eat, I recommend doing it before 7:00, so you can focus on the party. Based upon the past 3 years, you can get into MK about 4:00pm. We arrive as early as possible. It is normally not that crowded and the regular day crowd must be out by 6 that day. Enjoy the party.

I would like to hear some thoughts on this. I booked me and my family CM's for 6pm the night of our party. We arrive that day at WL thought we'd hang out at the WL and get the kids a nap. We have AP's so that's not a huge deal to go to a park early but should we? I don't expect us to enter the park before 7:30 I hear it takes about 1.5 hrs for a sit down meal. Is this just a bad idea? I'm on the fence weather i need to rethink that supper. I like the idea of mickey seeing the girls right off the bat then taking the monorail to the tcc and we are at the party. Should we RUSH to be there at 7? Is there a reason people want to be there at 4 and stay so long? Just curious i know some are eating supper but anything else? Thanks
